"He wouldn't have sucked if his wrs were good!"

>"He wouldn't have sucked if his wrs were good!"

I don't get it, if he was really that good of a quarterback shouldn't he be able to win in spite of a weak supporting cast?

why do people defend this guy's terrible rookie year?

It wasn't even his WRs fault. Half the reason they dropped balls was because Wentz can't throw further than 5 yards without blasting the ball 100 mph and off target. He doesn't progress through his reads. His deep ball accuracy is shit. He has little vision.

He has a long long way to go before becoming "elite" and with the way he played this year so far he looks to be a poor mans Alex Smith.

I'll admit I bought into the hype when they started off 4 or 5-0. Memes aside though he got seriously exposed as the season went on and I'd hazzard a guess that he'll continue to be shit.

It's tough when not only your WR's are trash, but your O-line is as well.
It's almost a miracle they were able to drive the ball down the field actually. Credit to Sproles of course, but Wentz did well.

He looked better than Goff tho

His decline and resurgence coincided perfectly with lane Johnson's presence.

Peyton Manning had a terrible rookie season and RG3 had a great one. Calm down SKEEEUP

>Half the reason they dropped balls was because Wentz can't throw further than 5 yards without blasting the ball 100 mph
Clearly someone who did not watch the Eagles prior to Wentz.

Well see next year. His mechanics and accuracy were pretty fucked at times but he without a doubt showed potential.

I would much rather have Wentz than Sam Bradford or some other bum on the team.

I was pretty impressed how he managed to turn plays that should be sacks into no-loss or even gains.
Though it'd be nice if next year he didn't spend more than a fourth of his snaps running for his life within a second.

Drops it's just as bad as the drips. It just has nothing to do with your dick.

when you see a team with a lot of drops and the players say the QB throws "too hard", you know the problem isn't the QB.

>statistically top 5 qb this season
>bum

Because he was the only decent white rookie qb out of like ten this year.

It all went downhill for Wentz after he got SLAYED by the Lions.

>terrible
luck and griffin's rookie years ruined it for everyone
for the vast majority of NFL history, wentz's year would be pretty good for a rookie
i keep forgetting i'm getting old and everyone on Sup Forums was born in 1998

>I have no clue what I'm talking about because I have not seen the Eagles WR struggle at running routes, getting separation and catching balls.

>a good qb should be able to win despite his offensive being hot trash in a position that requires others to support him

You are a fucking retard and never watched an iggles game, kys

>The last children born before the millennium will be doing porn this year

Cam has a similar problem. Part of the reason why his completion rate was so low this year is because Kelvin Benjamin looks like Tarzan but plays like Jane.

>le doesn't throw the ball past 5 yards man
>not a bum

dear god, please let the eagles draft corey davis
70 yard bombs every game, i grantee it

if he was really the next great qb like y'all saying he shouldn't be playing like a bottom 5 qb in the league

Why do you losers think a QB is bad because their bad team doesn't win games? The level of discourse on this board is abysmal.

>oline lets defenders through before receivers can run a route deeper than five yards
>"hurr why doesn't he throw deep"

>le just throw it deep to a wr corps that dropped balls like no tomorrow

>don't get it, if he was really that good of a quarterback shouldn't he be able to win in spite of a weak supporting cast?

That's what I'm always telling people. A lot of people forget that Brady has gone to the Super Bowl multiple times with shit recievers. Idk why people slob on carsons dick when he's literally shit

wentz is bad because hes inaccurate as fuck, constantly sails passes but people act like he's aaron rodgers or something

>OP
kys

Maybe because Brady is a once in a lifetime player? No one is comparing him to Brady, and no body should aside from Cowshit false-flaggers, they're just saying he has potential that isn't being shown because he has a statistically bottom-3 receiving group and was playing behind a banged up o-line. And no matter how bad Brady's receivers were, none of them were as bad as Nelson Fagholor.

Not an argument

Not a retort

>not knowing the definition of retort

@73912783
>falling for it

You should had really kys

>@
the newfag board is this way, pal

@73912879
lol shut up old man

Does Sup Forums actually dislike Wentz?

>none of them were as bad as Nelson Fagholor
This. When you have a 1st round bust that drops every deep throw, a 6'6" receiver who can't use his height to win jump balls, a starting RB who is a fumble risk anytime he does an outside run, a center who gets put on skates anytime he meets a DT with size and commits a false start when he doesn't, and a revolving door at RT throughout the season, why does it seem sensible for people to place blame on a rookie QB for the offense to be incompetent?

@@@@@@73912879
Look at this fucking newfag

no one is saying aghlor is a good player but people who are acting like wentz is already a franchise qb are seriously retarded.

he was way too inaccurate and couldn't do shit once teams had film on him and made adjustments.

Couldn't do shit except beat the undefeated (at that point) Vikings, the Falcons, the Giants, before beating the cowboys with a literally retarded practice squad RB.

are you talking about Romo's early seasons?

fuck you and give me my goddamn (You)'s you newfangled cancerous summerfaggots

>but people who are acting like wentz is already a franchise qb are seriously retarded.
are you retarded? he is clearly the eagles franchise qb

>couldn't do shit once teams had film on him and made adjustments.

This meme needs to stop. You can track his decline to Lane Johnson's suspension. Teams were blitzing his right side nonstop since then since they were using rookies at RT. All this talk of his mechanics breaking down is a direct result of him having half a second to throw at receivers that probably couldn't get open against your highschool's secondary. Reminder that the Eagles are 5-1 with Lane Johnson and 2-8 without him.

Wentz does have a problem sailing his throws high. But:
Halapoulivaati Vaitai, Allen Barbre, Matt Tobin, and Isaac Seumalo all played RT after Johnson's suspension kicked in. And Matt Tobin is a piece of shit. Carson didn't even get a healthy version of Matt Tobin.

Loving all these delusional iggles fans trying to defend this bust.

>16td
>14 ints
>good

Yeah I don't remember any franchise qb with that bad of stats their rookie year.

>b-but his recievers
Lmfao y'all are acting like he's the only qb to ever have bad recievers.

Name one rookie QB who had good stats with no go-to receiver.

Matt Ryan
RG III
Russell Wilson
Cam Newton

>Matt Ryan
>16td/11int

>Ben Roethlisberger
>17td/11int

>Drew Brees
>17td/16int

>Carson Palmer
>18td/18int

>Peyton Manning
>26td/28int

>Eli Manning
>6td/9int

>Donovan McNabb
>8td/7int

>Matthew Stafford
>13td/20int

should I keep going?

Matt Ryan had Roddy White.
Cam had Steve Smith, and a 21:17 TD-to-INT ratio doesn't exactly blow out Wentz's 16:14.
I'll give you RGIII and Wilson though.

BTFO

le escape from 3 sack attempts because nobody is open man

that's a testament to his athleticism tho
give him a deep threat and he'd be elite
gibe corey davis

>why do people defend this guy's terrible rookie year?
Confirmation bias. Sup Forums armchair experts predicted a QB taken this high would be any good, Filthy fans who put their homer goggles on thought this kid would be any good, and talking heads hyping Wentz believed he would be any good. Naturally, they're going to defend his underwhelming rookie season.
