Blazing Saddles

As you can probably tell, I am heavily into subtle symbolism and other such high brow concepts such as that, per se.

Big Le Bowski

Close, 23.

It really depends on the criteria, but these are 3 that I enjoy for different reasons...

2001
Melancholia
The Goonies

Lock stock and two smoking barrels
Hot Fuzz
A company man

Bonus points for Marley and me as the only movie to make me cry

The Last of the Mohican's

21

Not sure how I feel about top lists, they change so much depending on my mood, some I know I will never watch again or want to watch again and yet those are some of my most loved films.

24

19

Drive pretty much automatically puts anyone in the 14-21 range, so based on the other two choices, I'd guess 20

>24
Nope try again

The Shining

Not at all really

You're 16 yo redittor

Yeah but as a rule you aren't allowed to have top movies that weren't movies first. I can't say Hamlet is my favourite movie.

Fuckin hell, m8. If you're over the age of 13, you have autism.

I'd ask to see your tits, but I don't wanna get v&. 14

If you're under the age of 45, these aren't your favorite films.
46

20
So you bought into the Godard thing, huh.

25. Good taste

>Gran Torino
The hell is wrong with you? 18

a guy I used to drone was really into Godard so yeah. You're not a fan?

Playtime
Barry Lyndon
The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie

>you're not a fan
No. His films irritate me in a way which few directors have the ability to do. The epitome of pretentious hipster trash.

to each their own I guess, did you post a three favourites?

Lost in Translation
Sonatine
Stagecoach

Salò 120
Etat de Siege
Cockwork orange

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

Yeah

Drive
It's Such a Beautiful Day
Spirited Away

See

Depends on your success in and approach to love life. It's easier to appreciate godard if you understand that some people compartmentalise their lives and believe entertaining women is always the main thing they feel is worth going back to when they are done with other stuff.

kinoman

I'm pretty sure if I had Dicaprio's life, I'd still be bored to death watching Godard. But yes, I think his films are much too centered on bland romance and the quotidian.

Point break (original)
Stand by me
Fight club

Neat, I like all those too. 2001 was one of the couple of movies that got me "into" film.

16

15

Playtime
Taxi Driver
Citizen Kane

37
Wanting di Caprio's life shows you seek comfort and don't want to "live dangerously til the end". what is exciting romance for you?

The Lego Movie
Conan the Barbarian
Starship Troopers

1. Clockwork Orange
2. Singing in the Rain (maximum comfiness)
3. Seventh Seal

27

Yeah, I don't really have one single list of favorites, but 2001 would probably be on all of them.

>live dangerously til the end
What is that, Band of Outsiders? Anyway, I never said I wanted his life; in fact, that level of fame would be a living hell for me.

>exciting romance
The Piano Teacher
Punch Drunk Love
Lolita
Vertigo
Possession
Fukunaga's Jane Eyre was probably the best I've seen in years.

Blue Velvet
The Hunt
Black Hawk Down

wut

Taxi driver
Midnight cowboy
Porco rosso

Death Proof
The Counsellor
Cube

>The Counsellor

I don't know how old you are, but you have some seriously shit taste.

Blade Runner
Magnolia
Lucky People Center International

harriet the spy blog wars
mean girls 2
camp rock

cheers

What do you think of the Cube sequels?

You have a problem with The Counsellor? It's one of Ridley's best films

Either 16 or 89

Citizen Kane (Welles, 1941)
La règle du jeu (Renoir, 1939)
City Lights (Chaplin, 1931)

Didn't really capture the same atmosphere, Hypercube was borderline cash-in shit

2001: A Space Odyssey (Kubrick, 1968)
The Godfather (Coppola, 1972)
The Godfather Part II (Coppola, 1974)

Arashi No Yoru Ni
Ink
Clerks 2

>Vertigo
I've only seen this from the list, and I didn't feel the romance at all. The well to do, smart, handsome, bachelor private eye falls for the mysterious suicidal girl by stalking her... It's a long drawn out female fantasy designed to sell movie tickets, i didn't feel it deep.

Literally Roger Ebert

16 years of age, guessing you've just started film school.

Dr. Strangelove
Adaptation
Casablanca
