First for based James "Big Jim" Healey
Mads is great in everything he is in, even if his movie choices aren't that good.
Fear and Loathing was a mess.
I need to start putting out some written reviews.
Anyone who mentions "pacing" in their review should be banned.
Why do you feel the need to write reviews?
Pacing is a valid concern when it comes to genre films such as action and some horrors.
Any good 2016 lists around?
I don't know, maybe I'll look back on what I wrote in a few years' time, like some kind of mini-diary

Specific movie request time
Looking for an adventure movie with almost no exposition or dialogue. Preferably one where it's just one or a very small amount of characters, and also the character(s) fighting the environment they're in, rather than each other.

hello what are you watching this weekend
I will watch the exorcist tomorrow night I think, hope it isn't really spooky!!
WHY? CAN'T YOU HANDLE THE SPOOKINESS???
Why of course, the /LBG/ film club film, Birdman!
Essential Killing with Vincent Gallo is pretty interesting, although not great per se.
It's just one character and he has no lines of dialogue throughout the whole thing (except for like one word at the end).
He plays a terrorist convict who escapes his American military captors. They chase him down through the Afghan desert where he has to survive harsh conditions.
>per se
*tips*
I might not be able to sleep!
I hope you enjoy it user. people should watch the exorcist this weekend instead in my opinion
when is Cinemos going up again? :^)
>implying that RYM isn't tranny central
Kuwait is legitimately part of Iraq

watch Eurocrime!
might be watching some Quentin Dupieux tonight.
What the fuck makes you think I'm interested in Eurocrime?
It was dull, lifeless and boring. It also made the 75 minute runtime feel like 2 hours to watch.
BUMP
I miss Pestposting
How do we fix the letterboxd rating system?
Not much has changed, as you can probably see.
What's new?
Can we cool it on the general hate in this sub? It's getting kinda intense and it seems to be for no reason. Could we try and focus on creating a community?
Q: what's everyone's favourite animated movie with a non-kiddy audience in mind? Anyone happen to have or know someone who's made a list?
I have fun with my dog and I love video games
This is kinda funny though.
>what's everyone's favourite animated movie with a non-kiddy audience in mind?
Berserk 3: descent, just because it's the darkest one of them all and because mainly my pick is Berserk in general.
>he's definitely not as advanced as me

Synt confirmed for ledditor. Hola!
Always good to see someone that is patrician enough to recognize the great film that is Zardoz
Give me some good movies that are easily digestible so I can stream on the background as I study math.
math is for faggots
Kill yourself
Here's a hint: don't use Kino to describe movies you like. The same redditors who love capeshit do that so if you want to separate yourself from the retarded masses then don't say Kino. It's a neo meme for the neo userbase
LOL LOOK AT ME I LIKE MATH
I LIKE DICKS
COME OVER MY HOUSE AND BUTTFUCK ME :3
Excellent post, this is perfectly accurate of math people.

Hateful 8

The Beatles: Eight Days a Week
What is the best Alfred Hitchcock film?
Rear Window > Birds > Dial M for Murder > Rope > Psycho > Vertigo
Only ones I've seen from this list.
That's a big question. The lad has literally more masterpieces than some directors have in number of films made through decades.
RW is probably the best film overall, but Vertigo is the most complex and rewarding to infinite rewatches.
NBN, The Birds, Marnie, TLV, Psycho, Suspicion, SOAD and the list goes on to other contenders to the podium.
>watches a mainstream surrealist film
>review is "woah, what the fuck did i just watch?! weirdest movie EVER... but i like it tho"
>every review ever of ENEMY
pretty good movie though
>watches a mainstream surrealist film
>review is "fucking garbage for pretentious pseuds."
>every review ever of ENEMY
pretty shit movie though
what's a fun movie to watch lads i don't want to be sad anymore
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
Why though. I'm not going to say there's some objective pacing metric, but either it works for the film or it doesn't, and I feel like it's a legitimate complaint.
e.g. The Dark Knight has bad pacing because it's basically a nonstop shitshow of things getting exploded and the movie basically has two climaxes, although it's still a good movie.
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013)
Ghostbusters I and II
