Why didn't they just throw the ring into the ocean?

because Aquaman would have found it

gr8 thread m8
never seen it before

cause it needed to be DESTROYED

would've found its way to some other poor soul eventually. hell, probably drifted in the ocean until it came into Smeagol's possession.

>inb4 memes about krakens and sea monsters

Why didn't they just ride the eagles to Mordor?

>eagles.png
really makes ya think

The eagles arent a taxi service.

Is Mt. Doom the only volcano in middle earth?

WHAT FUCKING PART OF "IT WANTS TO BE FOUND" DO YOU PEOPLE NOT UNDERSTAND?

how the fuck can he have any influence on how and when it will be found?

>hurr durr all volcanoes are the same
the fucking ring is MAGIC

It's a magic ring you retard

Sauron was already super powerful by the time lotr started, the ring would just make him a God. The ring is directly connected to sauron's life force. And there were many volcanos in middle earth but mount doom was the closest. And the fact that the ring can only be destroyed by the flames used to make it. Does that cover everything?

This should just be the response to any dumb question

Why didn't Turin just keep fucking his sister?

What are they then? Deus ex machina?

They would have been corrupted by the ring just like all powerful beings. They would have taken Frodo up really high and then done spins until he fell off and died, then they'd fly down and take the ring for themselves.

Servants of Manwe, the chief Vala. They only get involved when he tells them to.

yeah but like. who is gonna fish the ring out of any other volcano?

Why didn't they just shoot the ring into space using magic, like Gandalf's fireworks? Surely Sauron is no match for the extraterrestrial, much less the vacuum and other hazards of space? The ring would continue its trajectory well away from the planet of Middle Earth, never to be seen again.

The point is that it needs to be destroyed, not just hidden. Did you not watch the movies? Sauron was on the brink of victory even without the ring.

The ring would fish itself out, like it did in the depths of the river to Smeagol, and like it lured Bilbo to it from the depths of the chasms.

...

this is autism

>can't explain a major plothole
>justifies it ad nauseam with contrived writing and plot convenience

you dont know what a plothole is

Hello r*ddit.

If anything it's reddit that would love unfunny memes like this. I don't get what you're trying to imply with that picture

as long as the Ring exists *somewhere*, Sauron's power could keep producing an endless flow of orcs. he could replenish an army to attack Minas Tirith again in a few months, while men are a lot slower to get a new army back up. it doesn't matter that he doesn't physically have the Ring. don't you remember the part where the orcs where literally minutes away from killing Aragorn and co?

They LITERALLY said why in the book.

Did you miss the part where they say the ring wants to go back to Sauron? That's not an euphemism, the will of the ring would have taken it to the eye.

>mfw i actually did that hand sign

Mordorian flak cannons. Once the ring was destroyed, they were deactivated and the eagle air strike could be called in.

This again? The eagles are semi godlike beings in LOTR just like Gandalf. They doesn't work for him despise what the movies may have had you believe, they are maiar i think, which means they are pretty much his equals.
