Moving 1200 miles away to go to college in august. Any tips for a freshy?

Same here
But my ass will have to get a bus that's 1h long

What are you learning.?

Me computer engineering

Enjoy it OP. As long as you aren't completely autistic, you'll have a good time, make cool new friends and gain some memorable experiences.

Do the things you like and take classes that interest you. It's not a chance to be a whole new person, it's a chance to be your more authentic self without the expectations of the people that knew you back home.

Go to class every time unless you're sick, it's easy to fall so behind that you can fail and simply showing up is 70 percent of the fight.

Odds are your roommate will be someone you wouldn't choose to live with. You don't have to be friends but keep things civil and respect each other. Move off campus for your second year and try to get a studio or single bedroom apartment, women put out easier if there aren't 3 dudes in the next room playing video games.

Dunno yet, just declaring media arts for shits and gigs for the first year.

Lift. Convey a zero fucks given attitude. This will help you with pussy.

How do I meet girls? When I went for orientation I couldn't look one direction without seeing a beautiful girl. Should I try to go to partys or look for them in class?

>Normalfag thread

Seconded: go to class
I failed too many classes because I didn't want to wake up
Also, avoid morning classes at all costs

>how to be a normalfag so i can get pussy thread

Parties, duh
Freshman girls are going to go out with the sole mission of getting dicked, at least in the beginning
Take advantage of that (not in a rapey way)

theres more than enough party in the world; so dont fuck yourself over and screw up because your life gets in the way/didnt want to miss out. college is an investment in yourself, if you fuck it up you only have yourself to blame and getting back on track is always harder than the start.. people will always party and theres no point in trying to see it all, especially when the ride never ends. just look at all the mid life idiots that cant start working without a nip or 4 to start the day.

tl;dr work hard now so you dont have to later.

You'll meet them naturally, just don't be afraid to talk to them. Go to class, join clubs, go to parties. They are all around and the more different stuff you do the more you meet.

O and don't make the mistake I made by getting a girlfriend that lives in your dorm freshman year. It's awkward as fuck if you break up and there's no getting rid of her.

Yes, register as early as you can so you get the best choice and choose a schedule that works for you. If you can get 15 or 20 minutes between each class so you can get them done in a block that's the best. Spreading them out over the course of the entire day might seem to be a good idea so you can get homework done right before but it's really just a pain in the ass.

this is oddly true.

What type of advice is this.?

I went to school every day
Not because I wanted to because I had to

We all have different college experiences so I guess, craft your own path.
>Don't base your preconceptions on what you've seen on TV or in movies. That just puts college into a whole fictional context where it basically serves as the judging lens through which you view your on first year/the other three.
>Be prepared to feel alienated and alone giving how far you'll be going from home but be open to interacting with dorm mates or people you meet in classes.
>THIS ONE IS CRUCIAL: don't piss about your freshman year having all the fun in the world because it's the "classic" thing to do. Sure have fun and have a ball but keep up with courses and avoid falling behind. It'll save you a lot of stress and heartache come midterms and finals.

cause girls like dick as much as we like pussy they just like to put themselves on a pedestal

Kill yourself now and save yourself trouble

First thing to do is to go to as many events as possible. getting drunk is a good way of making friends. and then try and stay connected. after the first year most of the hard drinking and partying stops.

If you dont youll end up alone.

Are you talking about high school?
In college, it's easy to think of class as optional
Especially because you can easily get away with missing a few (just read the textbook, get the homework online, etc.)
But it's a bad habit to get into, as I learned the hard way

1. Have a Fucking plain! A fucking road map for after college. Its never to erly! Even if you don't end up where you planned it's the direction that got you there.
2. What ever you do major in somthing marketable. Something empirical and in demand.
3. Have fun but don't go crazy. The focus here is to get skills that will make you money to make a liveing and generate happyness and self reliance in the future.
4. If you are starting to fail or slip then drop out and rething your plan. Don't wast yours or your parnts money.
5. Don't fucus on the socal end of things too much most of these people you will not know in 10 years. Also don't fall inlove at collage it never ends well.

I already signed up for classes but i put all of them on m t w th, and left friday through sunday free. Im worried about tuesday though. First class is 8 and last class is 3.

What is with you red-pill faggots and this "pedestal" idea?
Stop putting pedestals on a pedestal

One hard day a week won't kill you. Think of it like a work day and hit the library between classes to do homework. If you go back to your dorm it's easy to get caught up in stuff and fuck off the rest of the day.

exactly, put them on a pedal stool

Literally the best thing you can do with women is talk to them and not care if you fuck them. They run away from guys obviously trying to get in their pants most of the time. If they don't think you care it'll make them more interested and feel more comfortable around you. If you're a bit awkward in person chat on facebook and do the heavy lifting there.

Having a extra day off is great
If you only have to wake up early one day a week, that's not bad at all, and maybe you'll have an easier time with it than I did

And get used to eating on a schedule, the food that's available after the meal hall closes is generally shit quality.

Where do i get booze, i met a schozophrenic homeless man eho bought me booze during orientation but it might take a bit to find him again.

Are you in a field that is actually challenging? Certain STEM tracks will have first year calc courses designed to weed out pretenders. If you don't already have study skills and drive - be prepared to be humbled.

Join clubs and meet upperclassmen.

who dat

Start working on shit the day you get it. Otherwise you'll just keep putting it off, then you'll become overwhelmed, and you'll start failing. At that point you'll be constantly stressing, you won't have time to have fun, and you'll probably end up dropping out or doing something stupid.

Major in biology and you will meet dozens of girls who think they are on Grey's Anatomy. Meet them in the first couple weeks before they wash out of those classes and switch majors. Stay in biology yourself and become a doctor and bang hundreds of girls.

I thought of going for computer science because i am realatively good with computers but i think im better off trying to get degree in art or business.

Talk to your vagina as much as possible, espically if you have nails on like you do in this photo

Unless you go for a post graduate degree in art it's pretty useless. Pretty much all the soft stuff you need to have more than a 4 year degree to make money.

And dont roll your eyes at the art bit, my mother majored in music but ended up working as vp of marketing at abbot pharmaceuticals (fortune 500 company).

You'll figure it out two years from now, that's if you manage to make it past winter break. You're in the 6 year plan.
>obvious.exe

Always wrap your dick. Girls these days will fuck niggers and anyone else breathing. STDs are everywhere

I'm a sophomore in college rn, this is great advice

Here's a biggie:
You can find lots of textbooks for free online
Just google [title] [author] pdf
You'll have better luck with popular textbooks, especially the into-type ones

If you need to buy it, check online stores - your college bookstore will rip you off
Also consider getting an earlier edition to save a bunch of money, they typically don't change much

Go to the gym, do starting strength followed by a hypertrophy program. Join a fraternity or whatever the fuck those things are called. Work hard on your social life. Befriend everyone. Dont be a bitch. Eat healthy. Get your hairstyle and grooming right. Look up guides on how to dress properly.

>why ?
Watches at 0 $?

He's going to college, not sleep-away camp. Do you think studying might help?

If he only tries to get laid he won't be there long. Highschool I never needed to study, could bullshit my way through homework and tests and got A's. College I had to actually learn how to study and improve my writing right away. It was a totally different standard.

consider not going to college. You'll only have regret for going

Don't join a fraternity
Make friends with one, though
Good source of parties, drugs/alcohol, and women

> media arts

Happy unemployement!

Yah, that's the sweet spot. Access to parties when you want them, good way to score drugs and you don't have to deal with all the bullshit that goes on there.

Same with me, im only going to have to worry with my math class. Its a remedial alg 2 class because instead doing anything in highschool i did nothing and got Cs and Bs.

my tip is don't get expelled

sauce pls

One more note on this:
If you can, don't get the textbook right way
Wait and see if you actually need it, and how you'll need to use it
That'll determine if you can get away without a physical copy, with an older edition, etc.

I directed a short film in highscool and it turned out very well (talk of the town) and even if media arts isnt my thing i can easily go into marketing and have a steady career there.

Not the best advice. I once had to drop a class because the textbook was sold out and the library only had one copy. Though this was in 2003 so online availability is probably much better now.

Speaking of that, think really hard about dropping a class that you don't like while you can. Once it's too late you have to pull some shit to do it.

I once had to convince a campus shrink I had severe depression from my parents getting divorced to get out of two classes I was to lazy to drop when I could have.

Save this thread to refer to it later
There is some important shit here

get a tinder or okcupid, find hoes

No sauce but take this

The sauce is literally in the upper right hand corner of the picture.....

The campus is dry and smoke free and it seems like they crackdown on that shit. I dont know a single person in the city im going to so whats the best way to meet people?

Yes, online availability is much better now

Good point though, watch those deadlines

Guard your GPA - if it drops, it can be hard to bring it back up

A degree isn't worth anything unless you achieve the highest award possible, anything else is merely stating you are not the person best suited for the job

Research what else you can get to support your degree, any training courses or certificates that support your application to jobs will be very important once you graduate, don't put this off

Get a drivers license

Don't miss out on socialising, go to the parties and social events, but don't miss any lectures from doing so, it is important to have good friends to work with

Make sure you are showering regularly, cleaning and ironing your clothes is important too, sooner or later you will notice who is looking shabby because they cant be assed looking after themselves

Make a point to eat vegetables, you need your vitamins, don't just eat junk food you will get sick, feel awful all the time, and be less productive

College is not a vacation, if you treat it like one, you will never get to go on actual vacations

but still

sauce?

Huh? You learn something new everyday.

Don't start a relationship.
Study.
Study.
Study.
Fuck the college culture expectations.
You're sacrificing 4 years of career progress to get this shit done. Make it count.
Fuck partying, fuck all that bullshit.
Study until your eyes don't focus anymore.

And don't forget you can change majors.

Even if the campus is dry it won't really be. Just keep your eyes open and you'll find some fun. Meet upperclassmen, they'll show you where everything is if they like you.

Go to class, join clubs, talk to people in your dorm.

Ok, good luck, but directing seems like one of those professions where you need huge amounts of luck to succeed in, regardless of an effort you put into it. Speaking as a husband of a professionally frustrated pianist. Personally I'd do it the other way around, do marketing steadily and directing on the side.

Its kind of pie in the sky but I really want to give it a good shot. My grandfather made a fund connected to the stock market thelat net me about 30 grand and that will cover about 2 years. The rest im going to have to pay on my own so if directing doesnt seem feasible after 1 year im going tohave to give up on it.

break-up with your closet slut high school sweet heart before she cheats on you in the first week of college with some asian fukboi

>Auto-biographical

MODS MODS MODS HOLY SHIT MODS

No problem there, havent had a gf since 7th grade.

Literally show up to class everyday and participate.

Go ape-shit. There will never be another time in your life where the consequences of your behavior will be so small.

this

Don't listen to this guy, that time was in high school.

Monetary consequences are enormous.

Hows paying of your student loan working in a car wash going user?

took me 6 years to graduate with my bachelors in engineering.

Skipping class is not cool. Once you realize you owe the government $1000 a month for 10 years (including interest) you will agree.
Being tired to wake up is not good enough either and a horrible excuse. Once youre working and see that waking up at 6 am everyday is easy youll regret failing from purely skipping class .

On the topic of getting chicks... Just be yourself. This gets you 100% of girls you can get and keeps 100% of girls you cant get away from you.

Also steal and cum into as many dirty panties you can in the dorms. The laundry room is a gold mine.

lol, I'm 46 now, married with 2 kids, 235k McMansion in beautiful subdivision with 78k/yr IT job at a State University.
My parents weren't niggers and saved and were prepared to pay for my education as I am for my kids.

I suppose there's going ape shit and shitting the bed...you should never shit the bed.

Kek I scheduled my classes as early as possible but my math class still has a mandatory 7:30-10 pm lecture every wednesday. The shit I do for calculus.
