Rock is no longer the most popular genre in the US

>Rock is no longer the most popular genre in the US

pull the trigger.

...

Why would a Brit care about what's popular in the US?

well what is it then boys?

>what is originality?

Go to bed x

this has been true for the past 20 years at least, right?

You know rock is dead when those kids in those reaction videos are complaining how bands like acdc and motley crue are "screaming"

I mean, isn't pop, whatever it is in during a given time, by definition always the most popular genre in the US.

Scaruffi was right all along

What country should I move to where rock is popular?

So who was rock's Coltrane?

probably somewhere in south america

Chaim Shillstein got BTFO in the other thread so he switched to his reserve.

Negative, reggaeton and ballads are the dominant genres there.

Good people clinging to any music are fools, rap is just as fucked.

You know we have X, Bones and $uicideboy$ to blame for this.

So where's the rap equivalent of prog?

Cannibal Ox/ Deltron 3000 high concept shit.

Zappa

yes it is , just no one makes it any more.
who am I kidding we are over run with shit rap funded by jew gold.
its over its all over.

Dave Grohl is responsible. Prove me wrong.

John lennon and his stupid quote about rock disappearing earlier than christianity

Japan, they're always a couple decades behind western trends, they're still stuck in the 80s.

I hope they stay there, it seems nice

Glam killed rock; Gene Simmons, Axl Rose, Vince Neil, etc

Nowhere really, hip-hop and EDM are world dominating forces because:
>They're relatively easy to make; you just need one trained producer and maybe a rapper
>You only need to market one person instead of a whole band
>Its even easier to dance to than the most simple funky rock
>You have more space on a stage, so you can set up more elaborate lighting
>Literally anyone can learn to rap or produce at any age, unlike instruments and traditional singing which require a ton of brain plasticity

I thought rock wasn't that popular in japan?

oy VEY it's like i been born in tha wrong GENERATION or sumthin!

It's not the dominant force, but it's still a very big subculture, with punk and related genres being a constant favorite of their rebellious youth subculture. There is not one country on Earth where rock is dominant; Japan is as close as you can get, probably.
