No major yet, but thinking about archaeology. Open to anything. Wouldn't dream of minoring in Spanish, only taking it because I'm required to have 3 semesters of a language.
It's pretty good, yeah. It doesn't have the amenities of a lot of other elite unis due to low endowment, but it's okay. It's major expensive though, the most expensive in the US (don't let the media trick you, there are hidden fees left and right, it amounts to about 70k).
I got in here on a need based scholarship and because I tried really hard in school. I had good AP scores, decent test scores (31 ACT, 1870 SAT), and wrote really good essays. I got the scholarship and now I'm here.
I did no extracurriculars other than a 1 year stint in student government (which was nothing at my school), I got in purely based on academics and poverty.
You see that they're hiking the tuition again this year, room and board being $70,600. There's a bunch of hidden costs, so next year it's more like 73k or so. It's only going to get worse, a top tier private uni is probably going to be over or near 100k by 2020.

Cool, I am really considering UChicago which'd cost over 80k so I'm fine with 70-- but it's the amount I'd prefer to pay for Tufts. I never gave the old SAT but your ACT score is pretty good. I currently have a 1420/1600 on the new SAT but I'm giving it again because I have a huge scope of improvement in English and I'll be eligible for merit based scholarships if I get a 1500+ I am giving SAT Math level 2 in two weeks, and have applied to a bunch of universities in the US for summer schools, which will hopefully help me with the ECs I know some stuff about common app, not really sure about what you have for the essays-- but afaik there is one in which you have to write about yourself-- so what did you write in that? Also, what were the topics on which you gave the APs?

Fuckin hell man, that's about a 2130 on the old one. It's sufficient for Tufts, but you're gonna need to get a bit higher for UChicago, especially since you aren't a poorfag like me. Keep going, don't give up.
And yeah, SAT is aptitude whereas ACT is what you learn. I'm not smart but I work hard.
In my common app, I wrote about being poor and homeless (I was prior to HS) and overcoming obstacles and how if I could go from homeless to valedictorian of my HS, I'm ready for anything. It worked
I took 11 AP classes in HS, here are scores AP Psychology - 4 AP Physics 1 - 3 AP Statistics - 3 AP US History - 5 AP Eng Lang - 5 AP US Govt. - 5 AP Human Geo - 5 AP Literature - 4 AP Earth Sci. - 4 AP World His - 4 AP Calc AB - 1 :^(
