I MAY have listened to this a bit too much before the match..

why are they so fucking shit now?

Klopp is a fucking hack who can perform well in the beginning of the season because no one has seen his shitty meme pressing and his players aren't exhausted yet

once the league adjusted to him and he's run every player into the ground the team can't play well.

Dortmund supporter re Klopp
>There were several factors that contributed to that season not going very well. The main one was that the way to counter our style of playing had been completely figured out. So teams sat deep against us and that's how they beat us. Our style at the time depended on the winning the ball from the other team high up the pitch and catching them quickly on the counter. They countered this by sitting deep and countering against us themselves. This is also why we were successful in the champions league group stages. You cant sit deep in the UCL, you have to attack because draws get you no where so our style was effective there. Another contributing factor was Lewandowski's departue. Immobile and Ramos were not suitable replacements. And so we struggled for goals. We didn't play Aubameyang at ST until the 2nd half of the season. And finally, injuries hit us hard. We had no natural fullbacks for most of the season with both Piszczek and Schmelzer injured for the majority if the season, forcing us to put players in that position who do not naturally play there. There are some other factors but basically all of this compiled and our season went to shit.

>Basically, the problem was that Klopp has no plan B. His style, like others have mentioned, only works if the opponents come at you with the ball - it's a very simple style of football, hence why we could beat a team like RM 2-0 in the UCL (13/14) with players like Jojic, Friedrich and Fussballgott Kirch - you need players to pretty much run, run and run to press. Injuries didn't help, our fullback positions were very weak because of that.
>If you look at our stats in the last few seasons, we are a team that isn't efficient - in 14/15 we often took 20-30 shots and couldn't score, often hitting the woodwork, but the key was that we had no lethal finishing up front. We resorted to playing long balls in behind which were very easy to intercept as we had no idea what to do with the ball - we had too much of it. In the first half of the season, we pretty much relied on mistakes to get us goals. Eventually we broke through the mental barrier and we banged goals in, but we still got found out by teams like Gladbach and Wolfsburg late on.
>As for Liverpool, I think the problem is very similar - If Klopp's boys can't score, they're doomed because you know they'll conceed. This is why you beat City 4-1, Chelsea 3-1, Arsenal 4-3 (teams that attack you) etc but you get outplayed by Burnley, Bournemouth (teams that sit back and force you to play past them) etc. I think Klopp really needs to think of a second tactic for defensive teams. He will get found out eventually.

so basically Liverpool are Dortmund 2.0 now?

>le found out meme
Stop with this shit. Dortmund was successful over a long period of time. It wasn't just one season. You'd think if the system was that easy to counter everyone would've done it a lot sooner and it's not like Dortmund didn't play deep defending teams before that.

Most people knew at the beginning of the season that they'd fall apart eventually. The players are obviously exhausted and their football is predictable as fuck.

People have always known how to beat Klopp. They were just lucky and in form.

That is a lot of luck then.

>this short memory and this much hindsight
Is this from Reddit?
Dortmund changed a lot over the seasons, Klopp always found a style to suit the team. Sometimes more posession, sometimes more direct.
The opponents sat back and countered in lots of games in 2010-13 and there was no problem.
It's also quite ironic to say he has no plan B while mentioning the Real game, which was the definition of a plan B.

those mash ups were big in 2002

People are idiots. They also think Klopp is all about attacking when the defensive work was the best thing about Dortmund.

>Klopp always found a style to suit the team

except in the season where he was literally on last place at Christmas with a squad that was far superior to anyone else except Bayern's

he's a fraud, deal with it shareholder

Yeah, he himself always stresses that but it never catches the attention of the press.
The Hummels-Subotic broke a few defensive records I believe.

Still fixed it. Most managers would have thrown in the towel.

3 trophies total in 16 years as a coach, and nothing since 2012?
What is it, 5 or 6 finals in a row lost?

Yes, clubs do know how to beat Klopp, when Klopp sets up to win.

Are you arguing that Mainz or Dortmund when he took over should've been title contenders or something? Seriously?

Also two finals lost due to refball (CL & Cup here).

I am arguing that he is hugely over rated based on his accomplishments, and he runs a totally meme system that was figured out years ago. I provided supporter quotes and articles about his tactics going back 2 years, showing his Dortmund sides had the same flaws as his current side.

Only a fan boy can argue his system isn't very flawed.

>based on his accomplishments

Right, because you obviously know a lot about Mainz & Dortmund back then. lel

>defending 1 cup win in 16 years
Hey, he has as many as Portsmouth.

Hello mate, how can I help?
