Start training, at the very least walking, do a min of 1 hour a day walking (get a dog if you want extra motivation).
Building muscle in training isn't necessary but it does help burn extra energy, even when not training. Not to mention the aesthetic/confidence building.

No snacks most days, only 2 sometimes 3 meals. Replace other drinks with water and coffee.

1) Drink 3 quarts to one gallon of water daily

2) Go vegetarian - you will start eliminating waste as you should be; after each meal. Remember, eggs may not be vegetables, but they certainly aren't meat. Getting rid of what you eat is just as important as selecting what to eat. Use olive oil to cook. Can't stress that enough. It helps with your elimination and processes. Greeks swore by the stuff

3) Take a hard look at what you are consuming and cut out the crap - chips, candy, donuts. You can go from like donuts to muffins and from chips to say ritz, or crackers, but eventually you'll want to cut all of that out of your regular intake. Doesn't mean you can never eat a candy, or donut again, but cut back until you almost forgot you ever ate them and then after a while you may not even want them any more.

4) Regular exercise. Even moderate is good to start. Walking, biking and swimming are all great ways to burn calories and exercise. Fucking is very good for burning calories as well. Assuming you are fucking more than your hand, but hey, that burns calories also, so they say.

Similar to others but I live comfortably off 1500 calories and i've lost a stone over two months. (Went from 11.8 stone to 10.7 Stone)

I know this sounds crazy but if you're actually really obese (at least 100lbs overweight for your height) actually start vomiting your dinners (preferably the less healthy ones) at least 3 times a week. When you're morbidly obese, you don't have to worry about bulimia. Just make sure you don't do it too often.

every "wonder diet" is either bullshit, or fucks up your health. You should know the best what is the garbage in your diet that you need to stop eating. Fast food, sweets, sodas - replace them with regular meals, fruits and water. DO NOT replace sodas with juice, because those contain sugar as well. Eat less (calorie-wise) and exercise every day. You'll see the results pretty quick.

Find the kind of cardio that you enjoy, and don't throw yourself into every-day-regimen right from the start if you don't feel like it. I started out with jumping rope every two days, and once I got into it I was doing cardio every day.

After a week or two you'll see the results and this will be the best motivation to carry on and do exercise regularly.

Don't vomit your entire meal by the way. A cup-full is more than enough.

Lots of water, lean protein, low carbs (try to get carbs from veggies, or a lil bit of Brown rice. If you drop carbs a shit load, up your fat % for energy level) count calories. Cut out the damn sugar.

I really wish I took pics of my progress, it would of help me with motivation. Diet is the main thing to focus on. Keep a food journal and track every thing, this will help adjust your macros as time goes on.

Also if you start working out, make sure to change up the routine every d x amount of weeks. The body quickly learns and fights you tooth and nail to not have to change. Look up Arnold's blueprint to cut. It really helped me.

Also food oreo is key. If you got a crao load of meals already prepped, it's easy to stay within your calorie/macro. If you dont got shit prepped, it's easy to just swing by McD's and grab food instead.

Use an app where you log all your food and it counts the calories - this will start to teach you which foods are good/bad. If you're not a health nut you'll learn a lot and make better food choices over time. Some foods are really surprising.

Find low-cal foods that you like and stock up so you have them on-hand when you're craving a snack. Mine are oatmeal and apples. It needs to be stuff you actually like though - experiment. (If you smoke weed this step is especially important.)

Pass on most carbs. You dont need to eliminate carbs but you'll learn that rice, pasta, chips, etc. have a shitton of calories and they dont really satisfy hunger so they really fuck up your numbers. Prioritize eating protein and fiber (again, learn these things by logging your food in an app).

People talk about exercise but it basically doesnt fucking matter hardly at all for weight loss. You have to walk like a million fucking miles to work off one bag of Doritos. Fuck that, focus on what works - not eating the Doritos.

OP at first it's easy after some time you may have a small issue to keep losing. Cut out the bread, sugar, sodas and all that carp. Do a protein shake to replace a meal. Then do a few small meals. Lots of meat, greens and water. Weight lifing will help. You will get muscle which burns calories. Also makes you firm. Walk a little also. If you can job. I'm down 40lbs since Dec. I got about 5 more inches in the waist and 30lbs more I want to drop. I would still to many be fat but don't care. I took a month break to just maintain and not stress about food and all that. Aug it starts again. Weight lifting has been a huge help.

OP, if you go to /fit/ do not do the GOMAD shit. On avg you'll consume almost 200 grams of sugar from the milk alone. GOMAD is great if you're not trying to cut, want to bulk up.

Also depending how fat you are, start lifting asap, it'll help fill up the lose skin with muscle, so you dont look all hideous.

Intermittent fasting is the only thing that worked for me, but you have to be dedicated to it. The no carb thing was impossible for me. Here's what I did: Wake up around 6-8 Am, have a black coffee, don't eat anything until noon, have whatever I want for lunch minus sweet drink and fries or chips, eat again around 7 - 8 PM, that's it. Eat whatever you want within reason. The pounds will melt right off as long as you're not eating junk food.

Up your carbs.

Meat, dairy products, eggs and go to gym.

Some basic tips (that you could find in the sticky)
>calculate your TDEE (how many calories your body needs to make it through the day) and eat 500 under.
>if eat high protein stuff to avoid muscle loss (unless you want to go skelly mode... for some reason)
>get some kind of strength training program going. Muscle burns more fat just by sitting around than flab.
>cardio helps. I recommend HIIT if your goal is cutting fat.

My personal experience is a bit different than others here. Lost about 70lb total in less than a year, and maintained that loss going 2 years so far.

The problem with some of these answers, like only eat 1000 a day, is that you can't maintain that forever. If you lose weight that way, then change your diet, you'll gain the weight back again because your metabolism reset to the shitty diet.

Here's what I did. Found out the basic calories I burn a day. Ate at a calorie deficiency, but I found healthy foods that I love (bell peppers, mushrooms, salads with low cal dressings) and I only ever did weight training. Weight training builds muscle that both helps you look slimmer and burns more calories throughout the day. Cardio only really burns calories at the time you do it.

No soda. Splenda in my regular coffee. No mayo. I'll still eat fast food, but never fries and preferably grilled meat. Little changes in your diet that are maintainable are a better way to get long term results.

If you do this, it's forever. So make sure you like what you're doing

I've been fat ever since puberty. The combination of turning 30 and getting so fat I was starting to develop sleep apnea was the kick up the ass that I needed to lose weight. That was 6 weeks ago. At the start I was 329 pounds, that's now down to 305.

The only change I've made is I've stopped snacking. I'm not bothering to count calories; just sticking to three sensible meals a day. My job has me on my feet and moving about all day so that helps too.

Breakfast
-1 1/2 cup oatmeal with 1/4 cup milk
-1 hardboiled egg
-1 green apple

Lunch
-6oz baked chicken in 2 tbsp olive oil and seasonings
-1 cup applesauce organic
-1 cup broccoli

Dinner
-either 6 oz lean steak or 6 oz chicken breast or 10oz salmon
-either 1 cup broccoli, 15 steamed baby carrots, or 2 cups spinach
-1 cup strawberries and greek yogurt

Snacks throughout the day include:
Sugar snap peas
Hardboiled egg
Broccoli
Apple
Mandarin orange
Blackberries
Bananas
Grapes

I tend to stay somewhere within 1700- 2200 calories eaten
1/2 mile jogged
50 pushups
10 minutes squats spread out during the day
