How long would it take me to get to a boxing world title?

"tss"

I tried so hard
And got so far

Calling on anyone who bought the PPV as late as possible last night for what your account number is. Current knowledge is that the account numbers start at 100,000, and that the numbers reached 119,000 2 days agol. Given that the vast bulk of people probably buy on the night it could have done as high as 75-80k, most of which at the higher price, which wouldn't be a failure at all, maybe as high as £1m in PPV sales.

Would be nice to have some confirmation though,

My account which was 119XXX was 10 minutes before midnight on Friday when the price went up to £12.95. One of the boxing sites will find out soon they won't be able to keep it quiet

Give it 6 weeks and you can be the WBU International Bronze Youth champion

Was it worth it though? The only decent fight was Ryder-Etches, who aren't even good enough to win a British title. I would've probably caved and bought it if it had been available with my provider, but I found a good acestream in the end and I'm glad I didn't waste my money

The big stiff idiot video never fails to make me laugh

Price vs Hammer was the most entertaining fight because they both got knackered fast and swinging bombs at each other. Ryder vs Etches was ok but not great. Eubank was a little rusty but won every round. I'm not going to complain too much because it was £10 but I think Eubank and ITV have used up their good will now, I won't pay £10 for a card like that again as it was a show that should of been on ITV 1.

Are all of ITV's boxing cards going to be PPV now?

By the way, George Groves's last fight was on Channel 5 so I guess that means he's unaffiliated with Sky and that probably makes him the most likely opponent for Eubank Jr, right?

Well Price vs. Hammer was amusing but it was hardly PPV level boxing

Ryder and Etches showed decent offensive ability and heart at least

Reckon Ryder is a possible opponent for Eubank Jr now?

To be honest if Galahad had fought Agbeko I'd probably say it would have been far better value than any Matchroom PPV I've bought in the past year and a half apart from the Molina one. As it stands it was probably on a par with most of them I'd say, just with fewer fights and for less money.

For £9.95 I have no complaints really, for the higher price I don't think so.

They'll still have British level boxing on ITV 4. I think ITV won't be prepared to let Eubank have another easy fight on PPV, they'll realise the buy rate will be quite a bit lower if they do that again because the novelty is gone and they will be compared to Sky from now on. Groves is the easiest one to get but not a fight I think he wants because he'll lose. They want DeGale but probably won't be able to get him. Somebody said Tyron Zeuge as a possible opponent in the last thread which could happen but he's got the regular title so not a real champion and British casuals won't know him

If Parker beats Hughie then Haye will be his mandatory with no other UK promoters in the mix. That would be an obvious choice I think/

By the way, I'm starting to have my doubts about Andrew Selby. He looks like he might suffer the same fate as his domestic rival Charlie Edwards when he steps up to world level. Those two should definitely face each other in the near future btw

>yfw ITV ppv

Sky would probably come in for Parker vs Haye as a UK fight as they like Haye and were prepared to make Haye vs Bellew happen

"tried hard"
"""tried"""

Potentially, but Haye would have to give Matchroom a cut if he works with Sky because of their exclusive deal which I'm not sure he'd be keen on.

As with anything to do with his career I'm sure he'd go with whoever gave him the most money.

Zeuge is with Sauerland, who usually work with Sky. Plus Eubank would probably have to go to Germany for that

I somehow suspect that Ryder or Zac Dunn will be Eubank's next opponent if it is on ITV. I'd like to see Eubank vs. Yildirim though, that would be spicey

Is that faggot Andre Ward really going to retire?

>people paid for this

Price is with Sauerland and was on ITV last night.

>that bit when Jr stood right in front of Lennox Lewis while he was still talking

Honestly I had to mute the tv whenever any of the punditry was on because I was getting so much second hand embarrassment from it. Pure cringe all the way through.

Ward was good though, the one bright spot.

He pushed Ward out of the way too and Ward looked pissed

I was prepared to support ITV offering an alternative to Sky last night but I definitely won't pay again for Eubank to fight Ryder or another British level fighter. At 27 he has to step up

>[Eubank jr] composed of muscles that look sculpted by Michelangelo

>Arcing shots from both flanks, discombobulating him

and

>Eubank, maintaining a phlegmatic expression, harpoons Quinlan with a jab

Were 2 of my favourite from in-commentary

McIntosh is full of gems like this. It annoyed me at first but I've grown to enjoy his verbosity. He and Richie Woodhall always commentate on the official streams for amateur boxing tournaments and it's cosy as fuck

>you now remember that Eubank sr unironically had his own ringwalk music

What could have been a victory...

for the comedy value of the Price fight it was well worth it. The pesky romanian attacking the stiff giant made me laugh no end

LADS what's the verdict on Andrew Selby then? Is he really the next big thing?

He has glaring holes in his defence and limited power but it's still early in his career.

He's 28 already though and one of the most decorated British amateurs in history. I'm starting to doubt he'll be able to make the final leap to pro world level. Casimero would do him like he did Edwards imo

He just needs to put on more weight, 300lbs next

...

>the Green-Mundine fight cost 60 AUS dollarydoos
>Works out at about £36 according to Google

Jesus fuck, Australians are getting done up the hoop there

>yfw youre eubank snr and this meme matchup actually sold 175-225k ppvs

>itv.com/news/2017-02-05/chris-eubank-junior-renold-quinlan-remarkable-ratings/

If he was 700lbs he'd of won

Realistically speaking is it possible for David Price to salvage his career at this point?

What top 15 heavy from any legit org do you see him beating?

Well i mean he could beat any of them, he has the punch to do it

He needs to sort out his stamina though

Hold up m8, can you stand still so I can hit you as hard as I can?

Nah but David Price will

I'm not saying he would, im just saying he can

He has a babby chin though

He could probably earn a living winning some and losing some at British title level, beating opponents like David Allen and Ian Lewison but losing against guys like Whyte and perhaps up-and-comers like Gorman and Akinlade. But from his interviews it's clear that he's only ever been interested in world titles, so I reckon he'll retire. Plus he doesn't just lose, he gets stopped, so a gatekeeper career would probably be dangerous for him

How about Martin Murray or Paul Smith?

I think David Allen would spark him out at this point desu

It'd be a solid undercard fight desu. So Price definitely has some options if he can readjust his career expectations

He has the worst stamina I have ever seen

He couldn't even stand up straight and basically got tko'd via exhaustion

Even worse considering he doesn't actually fucking move. He literally gets worn out from standing.

The only fighter I've seen that was a bad as him was Barroso against Crolla

In Price's case I think it's partly an inherent problem to his body type and partly a result of anxiety, which I've heard boxers and pundits say can tire you out in a fight

He's so big that it seems taxing just holding his arms up or putting one foot in front of the other

To last twelve rounds at that size you need to fight at a truly glacial pace like Valuev, not just go around throwing uppercuts and combinations willy-nilly

He just needs to put on more weight

He's 6 ft 8 he should be atleast 500lbs

Isn't he a qualified plumber?

Best to get out if his heart isn't in it

they did a really good job with that short documentary or whatever you wanna call it that was shown after the Price fight
my friend who has never seen a fight in his life got really interested in the whole Eubank Sr/Jr thing when we watched it

Fury is 6 ft 9 and has no issues going 12 rounds, and he does it while dancing

Sad really, if he had basic stamina for boxing I think he could be a top contender at the moment.

Yeah he's roided off his tits though and doesn't put anything behind his punches

Yesterday he moved quite a bit for a big guy actually, he was constantly running backwards onto the ropes from Hammers attacks. Goodness knows why, with his arms his jab should easily be the dominant force in the ring.

Why is Hughie Fury rated so highly?

He looked quite shit in his last fight

>doesn't put anything behind his punches

This is possibly the crux of the problem. Price puts everything into every shot

>Yeah he's roided off his tits though

>the only type of PED is to build muscle

He won gold at the Youth World Championships and has good fundamentals and a famous name. That's a good recipe for getting your name out there. But I agree he's lacking something in comparison to his cousin

...

For the autist in these threads who loves Roberto Duran, nice little video for you.

youtube.com/watch?v=UGnHYziB_K0

Does David Price have the best chin in the HW division?

Hes never really been KO'd

He should move down to cruiser desu

so he can get battered by better boxers for less money?

I love duran but I'm not autistic

You're not fooling anyone m8.

Maybe Murray. That was a fight that Eddie Hearn wanted to make as an undercard fight before but not one they were interested in

...

SIMPLY THE BEST

...and then there's Jr.

I don't think Pricey's defeat reflects too well on Dave Coldwell as a trainer. He shouldn't of let Price go in there so unconditioned and how can he not drill it into his head to work the jab and pace himself. Price is just so frustrating to watch, starts getting pummeled by Hammer, responds straight away by knocking him down and then still loses the fight. He's an enigma

We all love Duran here.

I find it hard to believe that conditioning wasn't a huge focus in training for Price. He gassed badly back when he was 250 too so I don't think you can really blame the extra 25 lbs for his performance this time. In fact he lasted slightly longer last night than he did in his other defeats. He's clearly doing something wrong in the ring that's making him gas out, or it's just an inherent flaw in his physiology (there's a reason you don't see 6'9 marathon runners). His style should be much, much more economical. It seems to me like he's always trying to end the fight as soon as possible because he doesn't actually enjoy fighting

>"I don't rate Jimmy Young"

Does Roy Jones have CTE?

not if he has a boxing licence he don't

Danny Garcia is going to school Thurman isn't he

>Teper vs David Price was ppv (12€) in Germany

I believe so, yes

Thurman is going to be in "Run Time" mode, which may disappoint some people, but he will win a very clear decision

Price vs. Hammer was £12.95 in the UK, so we have you beat there

Will the Joshua vs. Klitschko fight be big over there?

sometimes, being lower than your natural weight also affects your stamina .

Thurman will lunge forward and continually get countered doing it, easy night for Danny

>but he will win a very clear decision
don't be so sure, DSG has a habbit of proving people wrong with his lacklustre talents.

So you're saying all he needs to do is to put on another 25 lbs and he'll easily win a world title la?

He proved me wrong against Herrera, Guerreiro and Peterson, who I expected him to beat easily

This is why I can't watch MMA. Physically cringed.

media.giphy.com/media/26xBGk9jhhmpMKjGo/giphy.gif

no, I'm saying sometimes being lower than your natural weight also affects your stamina .

but that's a grill so it's cute.

Literally WWE for grown-ups

it's mostly followed by teenage virgins and closet homos you only have to see all the homo porn that they spam the main board with to see that.

yeah but a huge undercard, teper - price had two 4-0 fighters and a niki adler

not really, just another klitschko fight on free tv, germans don't know who joshua is, most of them forgot that he lost
