Taking a break from the kind of stuff I normally do. Trying my hand at making music with more pop appeal. Track is private for now. Thanks for listening
"Silence" out now worldwide. Get it on Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, EVERYWHERE. Buy it on disc, buy it on tape, come see us at a show. Help us book a tour
i like to call my shit blushcore, it’s electronic beats that sample pop, jpop, trance and iconic 2000s era samples bc i’m an edgy postmodernist. i make breakbeats too. i like to use a lot of distortion and tape delay but i like to keep my music somewhat soft and cutesy.
>blushcore >breakbeats
i’m also in a UK Cloud Rap group too called Limewire Boys, check us out cos we’ve been making music for two years. A lot of the shit we recorded last year is coming out now but towards the end of the summer our newer stuff’ll be out too.
the members of limewire boys are Neo Café, $hark and Yung Krane
fun cave - the loop thing is catchy but these stabs come in too randomly and are way too loud in the mix. dem bells are too loud as well flutes - the distorted drums come in rly nice but then the sounds you added are way too random dood godzilla - the mix is very muddy, you have to cut out any frequencies you dont need on every track. so for example cut the bassy frequencies on everything that isn't the bass or the kick
haunting stuff dude. love it. you mind if i sample some of your work?
What's good people? Would love to get some feedback on this track, first of my house/hip hop stuff I put out, I try to make tracks that are fun to dance and party too, with more twists and turns than your typical house track. I actually return all feedback unlike a lot of people here haha, so if you need some listens on your new track, then hit me up!
Love the visuals for sure, goes nicely with music. Psytrance is not really my thing, a bit toohardy for my taste, but I really like some elements of your track. The production on the vocals when Are You Afraid of the Dark is really good, fantastic reverb. Pretty dope drop at ~2:18, but would have been really dope if you dropped it with the high hat on the ands, would have made it more danceable in my opinion. I kind of wish some of the non-bass elements were a little more on the forefront, it's kind of wearing me down listening to that pounding for so long, but maybe I'm criticizing the genre and not the song haha. Again, great production on the vocals at around 3:50.
Checking out A Fun Cave, I dig the instrument that you start with, pretty unique sound, but I feel like you could have put a bit more variation in the melody, like add a little fill after every two measures of it or something. The snare is way too loud in my opinion, and some of the combined bass/synth hits sound really peaky. The little variations you had like a bit past halfway through the song are a nice way of trying to mix it up, but also try adding more changes in the melodies that run throughout the entire song. Any other songs you recommend that I check out? I'm mostly in house music right now.
Checking out Wind Runner -- Lots of really nice layers in the beginning, and the production on the bass when it comes in is fantastic man. Cont'd in next post

what up dudes? brand new track. returning all love on soundcloud. :)
I really like the idea of transitioning into a more dance beat at the 1:24 mark when you do it, but I feel like one of the sounds could probably be dropped to make it a bit tighter. And sometimes it kind of feels like you fall prey to your own ability to mix in a ton of things at once, keeping things a bit simpler at more points might be effective. But overall very dope, let me know if you have any other tracks that you recommend that I check out.
Checking out Bonfire -- There's a nice transition at like 34 seconds, the swell and then landing on the revered hit gives it a nice amount of breathe and release. The piano up to that point sounds really basic and generic to me up to that point, especially the production and the rhythm, it just sounds so static. I really like the end of the track more than the beginning, it's a bit too high energy for my taste, but that could be a personal thing. You've got some really solid transitions here, which to me is usually the harder part, just have to tightness up the main body.
Checking out Tethered -- I'm pretty terrible at mixing, so take this with a pound of salt. But I feel like the bass should be mixed up and the guitar mixed down a bit, the guitar is so dominant that it doesn't really feel like the parts come together nicely. The mixing of all the extremely fuzzy/noisy guitar is pretty well, it doesn't just sound muddy, but definitely sounds fuzzy so that's nice.
