Millennials are the only group that gets free trade

They are also the most vocal EU proponents; the EU's highest goal is to facilitate free trade.

investors.com/politics/editorials/millennials-get-free-trade-why-doesnt-anyone-else/

Why are Trump and Clinton against free trade? Free trade is awesome, it provides cheap goods, jobs, reduces the risk of war, and generally leads to peace, prosperity and friendship.

Clinton overwhelmingly supports free trade actually. She couldn't be much more of a globalist, neoliberal kike shill if she tried.

ontheissues.org/celeb/Hillary_Clinton_Free_Trade.htm

free trade works in a perfect system where everyone plays by the same rules. Labor standards costs of living and currency exchanges complicate things a little.

If china had a minimum wage, a higher standard of living, labor laws of any description, and so on, free trade would be free trade.
But we are bound by labor laws, the standards we have come to expect and so on.
And no country in their right fucking mind is going to agree to a tariff which equals the cost of producing such a good in the us.
We don't have much to offer in exchange for such a rate of exchange. They could just take their good elsewhere and avoid the tax.
So.
Really our only option here is to threaten force on a global scale against any and all trade partners who would break our trade deals.
Possible, yeah probably. Realistic? Don't think so.
So... what can we export that other nations need that only we can provide?
.

.
That's right! Unparalleled military force and the protection of the united states armed forces. The greatest military the world has ever seen.
We have an interest in keeping the world dangerous.

>free trade works in a perfect system where everyone plays by the same rules. Labor standards costs of living and currency exchanges complicate things a little.

That is a Trumpesk falsehood. Free trade works in any system. Even though labor standards in China aren't the same as in the US or Europe. free trade still has significant advantages for the US and Europe.

>We don't have much to offer in exchange for such a rate of exchange.
Europe exports a shit load to China. But even if Europe would export 0, nada, nothing to China, it wouldn't matter. Basically, China produces goods for us with their labor, receiving our fiat currency, which they can then convert into Yuan (making the Yuan more expensive and the Euro less expensive), OR let the Euro do nothing at all (basically giving us an interest free loan for handing over goods) OR investing the Euro back into the European economy by spending it on Europe.

Why is it so hard for people to understand economics?

It's funny how the left-wing parties were originally built on protectionism and being anti-free trade but now the left-wing parties in the EU shill for an anti-labour political union.

>free trade still has significant advantages for the US and Europe.

for Jews in the US and Europe, yes
For everyone else, there is a better and more decisive solution.

>but now the left-wing parties in the EU shill for an anti-labour political union.

The left wing still is against TTIP and free trade, but for the EU. Their inconsistency is mind boggling. At least the stupid nationalists with their "populist socialist ideas" are both against the EU and against free trade agreements.

The parties which are truly for the EU and for free trade are the conservatives. They get it. They know that free trade is what makes us rich, wealth go up and creates jobs and peace. Whether wealth is distributed well enough among the poor and the rich in a country has NOTHING to do with free trade. You can have free trade and have an unequal or an equal society.

>free trade
>eu
you mean MORE trade

>for Jews in the US and Europe, yes
>For everyone else, there is a better and more decisive solution.

This makes no sense. Every single study ever done says that free trade increases wealth for both trading partners even if one trading partners literally only imports stuff.

The "Jews" are a very small part of the population in the US and Europe. They benefit from free trade just as everyone else does. If you try to say that rich and powerful people unproportionally profit from free trade, then you are making the mistake to believe that free trade has anything to do with progressive taxes and income inequality.

>you mean MORE trade
No, I mean free trade, as in not restricting trade. World trade is restricted to various degrees. If the whole world were to trade freely as of tomorrow, we would probably see a decade and longer of the biggest booming economy worldwide ever, and significantly contribute to world peace.

Typical Tanned German trying to keep their unelected money draw together.

I bet the two girls on the right are friends because they thought they would cancel out eachothers foreheads.

>cheap goods
yay poison paint and lead toys from china much progress wow so tolerant yay progressiveness

>the EU's highest goal is to promote free trade
The fuck it is.

And yet yours is the only one in the world that's a customs union.

Everybody likes free trade.

What people hate is what comes WITH the so-called free trade agreements:
- huge bureaucracy.
- pointless subsidies.
- foreign corporations suing taxpayers.
- race to the bottom on food safety.
- corrupt politicians getting rich from this all.

Agree, free market is the best system. I'm student of economics, so I understand...

>the left-wing parties in the EU shill for an anti-labour political union.

No they don't.

It's the center-right parties who want a political union.
Specifically Christian Democrats and Liberals (real liberals, not what Americans call liberals).

>2016
>listening to millennials for policy ideas

>mfw all these principled and loudmouthed millenials wont actually follow through and show up on voting day
>mfw the elderly eurosceptics will have 99.9% turnout

because it leads to deficits and abuse

>EU's goal is to facilitate free trade
>By running a unilateral tariff system on imports
>By running a regulatory system so byzantine and labyrinthine that the EU itself can't gauge its size, which kills small business growth and grows by the day over the thousands of lobbyist lunches made every day
>By forcing quotas upon countries of the catch of their ancestral waters
>By forcing quotas on imported goods in order to keep the manufacturing sector happy
>By paying fishermen to destroy their boats
>By paying farmers a subsidy to do agriculture
>By paying farmers for their produce, then deliberately letting the produce rot for the sake of price controls
>By taking up the WTO seats of every single EU member and forcing them to stay compliant instead of actually freely trading

>B-b-b-b-but ALL trade is good, even if it's taken advantage of!!!
If that were the case, why are their specific rules formulated by the WTO which levy tariffs on currency manipulators like China when activated?

Europe is the only region and trade bloc where trade with the rest of the world is DOWN.
Literally everywhere else, this is not the case, and yet the EU is lauded as a free-trade bastion.

>someone has been watching that Brexit movie.

Wishful thinking mate. They lowered toe voting age for a reason. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-eu-referendum-36282480

I have an MA in International relations and security, and consider myself only just about qualified to make an in/out EU decision. The people who ultimate decide our fate will be uneducated ignorant plebs. Hence why we are using FPTP to this day. Fucking governments, they know his and encourage lowering of voting ages and loosening of franchise. It'll be 13 years old by 2025

The voting age was not lowered, it fell through in the lords.

theguardian.com/politics/2015/dec/14/lords-reject--lower-eu-referendum-voting-age-16

>facilitate free trade
>encourage over regulation to reduce competition
>high barriers to entry for everyone outside the EU.
Fuck off

>Implying that the Brexit movie even covers the benefits of GOOD protectionism, i.e. protecting against dumping and market cornering or every other part of EU largesse

Here's one better than anything in the movie - the EU budget is decided on a whim, and when the corrupt mismanagement of the budget blows a huge hole to the size of hundreds of billions in all the money wrung out of members pockets, do you know what the answer is?

A great big gather round to force everyone to pay more.

telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/eu/11255493/UK-faces-34bn-bill-for-blackhole-in-EU-budget.html

Total size of the suddenly emerged hole?
£234 billion.

Sorry didn't clarfy - 1969 21 reduced to 18
2020(the Labour Party have made this an election commitment, expect it) it will be 16, and hat will be the final death of democracy in the uk. Fuuuck I imagine the cunts in charge absolutely can't wait to get the dumbest, most easily manipulated section of the population into the voting booths

Don't go to Norway bathing this summer if you are a lardass, some of you are all rite.
