That shit is not very good

There was a couple nice moments that were almost ASMRish

But the good bits were ruined by the god awful high pitched whining

I felt my hearing worsening with each passing minute

Had a headache by the end of it.

Sorry
But not sorry

It isn't very good mate

I don't mean to hurt your feelings but it's really nothing special

pleb filter because you know the people who pretend to like it are plebs

this one right here

Speak for yourself

I've never been to reddit and I never plan on it.

I've browsed since 2008 and I plan on continuing to do so.

The only time I ever haven't was just after infinity Chan came out.

So you can fuck yourself with your shitty album.

I'm sorry you have such bad taste

>being this assblasted
truly the pleb filters never fail

I don't see anyone claiming it's the best.

>having such shitty taste

Here let me ruin your thread newfag

your immaturity is appalling. summerfags pls leave

>BEEEEEEP
>omg so patrician

I've been here longer then you fag

It actually is though. All the performers are titans and they were at their best.

did you just post CP to desperately prove your an oldfag
holy shit I've never seen so much butthurt on anonymous board like this before. you need to neck yourself my dude.
enjoy your permaban faggot

Name 1 better onkyo album

Hint it's Sweet Cuts Distant Curves

there are solo recordings by nakamura that are far more inventive and pleasant to listen than this needlessly long load of high-pitched sinewaves

>I've been here longer then you fag
>longer then you fag
>then
inb4 b&

dude fucking epic you really le trolled those pesky anons

Where can u find more of these pics?

English isn't my first language
Neck yourself to save the world from your shitty music taste nigger
I'm not trolling

the fact youre not trolling only makes is sadder desu senpai

>English isn't my first language
Nor is it mine, but I still acknowledge an edgy teen when I see one.

Try imgsrc.ru
No guarantees
They usually get taken down after 10 minutes
The fact that you actually think that is a good album is proof of how badly you need hearing aids

Though you already seem to have one type of aids to be sure with your massive amounts of faggotry

thats pretty presumptive. i havent even heard the album youre arguing about, i just think its funny you thought posting jailbait porn and 'proving' youre an oldfag would make people think you were right
also fucking epic burn dude you really told me

He's banned now, no need to pay his edgy posts any mind.

>inventive and pleasant to listen
you're listening to / approaching onkyo incorrectly

do some research

this is pretty pleb though
it might be a good onkyo album or it might not, I don't know, I only have had a cursory listen to the onkyokei genre so wouldn't consider myself qualified to judge, but it's certainly the album a lot of people pretend to like in order to signal they have ~avant-garde~ taste while they have no knowledge of any other onkyo or EAI

i'd rather stick to what makes noise enjoyable for me instead of trading it for something that someone else decided is the "correct" way, thank you

I'll bite
What's the correct way to approach onkyo?

Onkyo is meant to be an explorative genre of music
And yet there are people who will literally force themselves to like it in the sole purpose of having a "diverse taste in music"
That's really sad when you think of how some people are so badly desperate to seek approval from others

Different poster, but half the appeal of onkyo is the bullshit they do to get the sounds they do. It's not made to be pleasant to listen to. It's made to explore sound itself as an art form rather than music. Most of the instruments in onkyo are used in ways that shouldn't work. Sachiko M, for example, uses a sampler that doesn't have any samples. You listen to Onkyo for the ideas behind the pieces. It's normally pretty worthless if you don't. I still think No-Input Mixing Board is a cool listen even if you're not going into it to think about sound though. It's weirdly meditative.

>sound as an artform
>not music
well uh buddy i hate to point it out, but music is the artform of sound and silence

probably the best, whoever will start defending that shitty rap is a huge pleb.

Music is the artform of transforming sounds into something of your perception, onkyo just treats sound as sound, without altering its nature

Onkyo as music is debatable. I call it music, but it would be very easy to classify it as non-musical sound (along with field recordings and lowercase and the like). It's generally not made with "musical features" like rhythm and melody in mind. I mean-- I still call it music because it's consumed specifically in the context of these musical features though. Their absence is what makes it interesting.
This is pretty much what I was talking about with the musical features.

>Bonny Bear- 9
>Ye- 3
It's you that has the shit taste.

Indie garbage and meme psychedelia isn't really better than shitty rap

DUDE BEEP BOOP LMAO

t. plebeian

no-input mixing board is a pleasant listen for me, it has a nice ringing echo-ey quality to it. in noise music a harsh texture does not necessarily have to be off-putting, hell, i like aube's infinitely orbit because its harsher moments fit very well into the overall texture and flow. there's a lot of going on, but i don't feel the same way about good morning good night

I'm a little confused by this post, as sounds that are outside my perception are not usually what I encounter in onkyokei or any other avant-garde genre.
Sounds outside my perception either being too low to hear (although even sub-sonic sounds may be felt at very high amplitudes) or too high to hear approximately >20,000Hz. But in the onkyo albums I've listened to I've been able to hear things.
It's not debatable, rhythm and melody are neither necessary nor sufficient in music. The rhythmic dripping of water from the cave roof is not music, nor is the melodic sounds of birdsong. Equally drumming is music and has no melody, and ambient music has no rhythm, and occasionally has melody.

Something like 4'33" proves music is not even sound created with intention for artistic and/or enjoyment purposes, simply sound presented for such purposes.

I'm kind of surprised someone with such a restrictive definition of music is interested in onkyo but whatever.

Always got drawn in more by Musique Concrete than onkyo

...

I've heard Good Morning Good Night described as the "Pulse Demon of onkyo" and I'm inclined to agree. It's memed because it captures a good chunk of the most impenetrable features of an already difficult genre. I don't dislike it-- I just think onkyo has a lot more interesting pieces to offer. But yeah, I love No-Input Mixing Board. It makes my ears feel things no regular music has.

I think you're misinterpreting what I'm saying. I largely agree with what you have posted. Music requires contextual definition and any restrictive definitions will be inadequate. IMO, presenting sound (or the lack thereof) with a particular purpose is music. That doesn't mean that everyone will define music that way, but language only goes so far. I classify onkyo, lowercase, and most field recordings as music. I can understand someone operating under a more restrictive definition not, however.

okay fair enough. I guess I misunderstood you in .

Yeah, I probably should have worded it a little better.

>needlessly long
>high-pitched
looks like the filter is working

>accurate description of the music
>"looks like the filter is working"
Really makes my nogging joggin

This is fucking awful

If you like this you're literally lying

do you have no taste in avantgarde music lmao listen to some Lachenmann kids, maybe some Murrail you'll learn more

Death Grips are the pinnacle of avant-garde music.

>you're listening to / approaching onkyo incorrectly

there's no reason you can't enjoy onkyo in a conventional way

you just have to have more of an open mind in terms of what you perceive to sound "good" (which is subjective anyways)

but yeah knowing the concepts behind the album helps

...

How is listening to Lachenmann and Murrail supposed to help you in appreciating Good Morning Good Night? They have nothing in common.

GMGN is far from being the best EAI album, but judging by this thread the filter has clearly worked

Whoever will start defending any of the albums in this picture is a huge pleb as well, they are all complete trash

No one genuinely thinks this is good, his first 2 albums are better by miles.

>No one genuinely thinks this is good, his first 2 albums are better by miles.

Don hated Strictly Personal himself. Honestly, all albums except Unconditionally Guaranteed and Bluejeans & Moonbeans are great and well worth listening to. Even those 2 have thier moments. Don was truly something special.

TMR is his only good album

Well, somewhat related but not exactly a pleb "filter" more like a red flag:

Linkin Park

yeah it is

99% of the albums here would never be listened to in full by a so called Pleb. Most people only listen to top 40 singles, so this thread is moot. Please leave your rooms once a year.

there are people right now in this thread who think the less convenient music is, the more patrician it becomes

academia.edu/4574070/Disciplined_Listening_in_Tokyo_Onkyô_and_Non-Intentional_Sounds

How so?

This is the true test of a pleb. Fuckers really went all in on this one.

nice copypasta
