Bump

Hi shinobu watched crump already it was very interesting got anything else like that?

Why arent you sleeping

>Hi shinobu
Hiya
>got anything else like that?
I don't have any more documentaries. Have you seen Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind?
>Why arent you sleeping
I've only been up a few hours.

Do the meds work pretty well?

What's a positive to having schizophrenic?

No anyway how have you been doing lately other than posting late at night?

>Do the meds work pretty well?
I don't take meds, as they are useless and shit.
>What's a positive to having schizophrenic?
Hmmm, being able to understand things normal people won't ever be able to understand under normal circumstances.

Is schizophrenia another term for autism?

>I don't take meds, as they are useless and shit.

Do your doctors or family know you're not taking them? What do they think about that?

>Hmmm, being able to understand things normal people won't ever be able to understand under normal circumstances.

What's an example? Don't care if it's a shit one.

How long have you had schizophrenia? Also what age did you first get it?

How did your schizophrenia "start" and did you know it was "starting"? As in during the prodromal phase, did you know something was off?

every drawing i made turned out to be this when I was younger.... am i crazy?

Do you get mood swings often

>No
Give that a watch, it's a great movie.
>how have you been doing lately other than posting late at night?
I'm okay, just tired, as usual.
>Is schizophrenia another term for autism?
Is retarded another word for (you)?
>Do your doctors or family know you're not taking them?
Well, I haven't seen my doctor in several years, and the last thing I told her was "I'm not taking those." I would assume she knew. She said it was a bad idea and I should reconsider.
>family
Well, most of them don't know I even have it, and those who do know, also know I don't take medicine.
>What do they think about that?
They don't seem to care.

>What's an example? Don't care if it's a shit one.
Being in touch with the Universe, in a way you can't understand unless you are as well. I can't explain it with words.
Hopefully, that's good enough.
>How long have you had schizophrenia?
I think I've had it my whole life, but I was diagnosed 4 or so years ago.
>Also what age did you first get it?
21ish is when I was diagnosed

How many dicks have you tasted in the name of schizophrenia?

Do you want to talk about crumb with me shino?

do you watch CowbellyTV at all XD hes got good stuff

Pretty standard for people with schizophrenia most people diagnosed are males in their 20s. Another question- how did you cope pre-diagnosis? Did you even know you had a mental disorder or did you think everyone was the same as you?

>How did your schizophrenia "start"
I'm guessing you mean what symptoms was I exhibiting?
The main ones were extreme paranoia and hallucinations, both visual and auditory.
>and did you know it was "starting"?
I knew something was up, but I didn't know what.
>As in during the prodromal phase, did you know something was off?
Well, prodromal refers to the beginning stages of a psychotic episode. Which I go through every few months or so (sometimes more sometimes less). I am able to tell now, just because the way it makes me feel.
>am i crazy?
Probably not.
>Do you get mood swings often
Not very often, but I have depressive/manic swings.

Fellow schizophrenic here. I can help answer this. From personal experience I'll add doses they gave me.

Trazadone 250mg (anti-psychotic) Acts more like a tranquilizer. It doesn't really "help." It's just more of a you don't do anything, except stare blankly; mindlessly for about 30-45 minutes. Then want to sleep ALOT. Plus boners, for literally anything.

Seroquil 350mg (anti-psychotic) Almost the exact same, but more potent, but less lasting. only thing different is that it has a muscle relaxer effect.

Ambilify 500mg (mood stabilizer) Just makes you emotionally numb.

To sum it up. Kiiiiiinda. After being on them for about 3 years (when I was a teenager in 2005-08) It literally just made me catatonic 80% of the time. after forcing myself off the meds simply because I had to get a job and take care of myself, a I've noticed came about.

Emotional numbness. This is getting better after nearly ten years, but for about three years after taking myself off the medication I literally just couldn't feel anything emotionally. I don't have as many visual hallucinations as I used to.

To sum it up, I would have rather just hallucinated. They weren't than bad, but I was forced into it.

Thoughts on medication?

>How many dicks have you tasted in the name of schizophrenia?
Zero, I'm not gae.
>Do you want to talk about crumb with me shino?
I haven't actually seen it. I was going to watch it last night while I posted but never really felt like watching it.
>do you watch CowbellyTV at all XD hes got good stuff
No.
>XD
Reeee
>how did you cope pre-diagnosis?
I didn't, really. I was completely controlled by it, most of the time. As I got older, I got used to it and was able to get more control though.
>Did you even know you had a mental disorder
I didn't know I had a mental disorder, per se. I knew I odd, that's about it.
>did you think everyone was the same as you?
No, I knew people didn't function the same way as me. I've known that my whole life as far as I can remember.

So basically makes you a zombie? (For lack of better terms)

Hey, I'm a guy who's thinking of going into psychology as a minor.

Do you think you got lucky with your severity of schizophrenia?

How is your dating life?

What kind of hallucinations have you experienced the most? Have they been violent, suicide provoking, paranoia, depression, etc.?

>Thoughts on medication?
I despise them.
>Hey
Hi
>I'm a guy who's thinking of going into psychology as a minor.
Go for it, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
>Do you think you got lucky with your severity of schizophrenia?
I do regard myself as fairly lucky, yes.
>How is your dating life?
Nonexistent.

Pretty much.

A way to describe it is basically imagine sitting completely still, not even able to blink, only able to breathe thru your mouth, able to hear conversation, unable to process a thought revolving around it, having full memory of it. then about thrity to fourty-five minutes later you finally regain the control to blink, then your fingers can move, then it feels like you're competely hammered without the added "Nice" feeling.

I'd say it's a frightening feeling, but due to the medication, you literally can't process the emotion of fear.

Once you can move, you just want to lay down and sleep. And you will for about eighteen hours, then have to take medication again and the process repeats.

Its cool the guy Robert was chill and why did you tell me to watch it when you yourself haven't seen it yet?

Thanks for doing this stuff my guy. I took psychology in high school and schizophrenia was probably the most terrifying thing to learn about.

Has this effected your family life in any way?

What are some things you do to try and keep yourself calm if you start to hallucinate?

At what age did you first start to get symptoms of schizophrenia?

That sounds pretty horrible. No wonder every person I've met with schizophrenia never takes meds they make you...not you basically. Seems like the equivalent to having an animal constantly on tranquilizers.

If it helps- most people diagnosed with schizophrenia are males in their early to mid 20s

>What kind of hallucinations have you experienced the most?
I primarily have auditory hallucinations (voices, random sounds, like birds chirping, people walking through the house, etc)
When I'm psychotic is when I have the visual hallucinations, they're usually a tall shadow-black lumbering figure, he seems completely devoid of light. Wears a really long pitch black trench coat, and where his eyes would be are just emptiness.
>Have they been violent, suicide provoking, paranoia, depression, etc.?
Mostly they induce paranoia and depression or anxiety.
>why did you tell me to watch it when you yourself haven't seen it yet?
It seemed like a good movie.
>Thanks for doing this stuff my guy.
Sure thing, pal.

>Has this effected your family life in any way?
I don't talk to anyone in my family anymore, or anyone for that matter.
>What are some things you do to try and keep yourself calm if you start to hallucinate?
I don't really get panicked from them anymore, I've grown used to it.
>At what age did you first start to get symptoms of schizophrenia?
Around my late teens is when I really started to notice it.

I have a friend with schizophrenia and he has difficulty separating reality from his hallucinations. Any tips you can give?

>I despise them.

Could you explain why?

When did you have your worst episode/experience with what you have?

Also cute girl pic. Where is she from?

what's the weirdest shit you've ever seen?

>Any tips you can give?
Really, the only thing he can do is to try to notice the recurring patterns in his hallucinations, and use them to determine when he's hallucinating.
This, of course, will not be a "solution" but merely a way to stay more calm.
While we may have no control over what we hallucinate, we do have the ability to control how we react to it.
>Could you explain why? See these:

Fellow schizophrenic user here again. I actually took up informally studying psychology because of my condition. It's a fascinating subject to get into, but it will depress the shit out of you.

I wouldn't say it was horrible perse. It was just very uncomfortable after awhile. Imagine basically having an 18 hour sleep cycle where during the other 6 hours you are either at school (for my case) or just unable to do anything. I actually had to drop out of high school because I couldn't stay awake, so I just read when I was cognisant. Got my GED and a scholarship for my troubles. Haven't been able to use it granted, but hey that's life.

He needs to set a "reality check" something familiar with his hallucinations are giving him a disconnect from his surroundings. If it's just certain things like he's imagining spiders crawling on his skin or something akin to that. basically you just have to learn to recognize that it's not real. It's literally trial by fire I'm afraid.

It was sucks that his brother commited suicide but the movie was comfy and I heard he made frizt the cat which is a movie I plan on seeing.

Thanks for answering my questions OP. I wish you the best of luck with your mental state.

eyes forming at the top of my mother's ceiling, doing nothing but blinking endlessly. With random whispering all of around me.

Basically what you imagine lovecraftian horror to be.

I actually quite enjoy the genre for that reason oddly enough, feels famiilar.

How often do you take a shower?
Do schizophrenic ppl glow in the dark?

Fritz the cat is a very odd movie. I remember watching it when I was much younger prowling the late hours for softcore porn. I found that one night, watched the entire movie. Enjoyed it both for the pornography factor, but it was a enjoyably strange story.

>When did you have your worst episode/experience with what you have?
The worst episode is really hazy. But, I was with a friend on my porch when it got really windy, then I had this feeling that the world was coming to an end.
The worst experience is the never ending negative loop of stress>anxiety>paranoia>stress>anxiety>paranoia etc
>Also cute girl pic. Where is she from?
Monogatari.
>what's the weirdest shit you've ever seen?
A black hole appearing and eating a street light and half of the neighbor's house. I went up to the black hole and stuck my arm in it, and then I was back on the porch and everything was normal.
>Thanks for answering my questions OP
You're welcome
>I wish you the best of luck with your mental state.
Thanks, friend. Best of luck to you, as well.

Actually fun fact: Humans actually do glow. It's brightest at dusk and after you eat bananas.

You can actually see it the easiest with normal "blacklight" bulb.

Thanks user you've been a big help too I also wish you the best of luck with your mental state. Thanks for your answers as well

He was on lsd when drawing the comics but a porno also neat.

>How often do you take a shower?
Every two days usually, unless I get really sweaty.
>Do schizophrenic ppl glow in the dark?
Yup.
>I heard he made frizt the cat
Ooh, I'll have to look into that.

Appreciate it. Seems me and OP tend to be on here about the same.

How do people usually react when you say you are a schizo?

I will too do you want to ask me anything?

>How do people usually react when you say you are a schizo?
Well, I don't really tell people. So..
>do you want to ask me anything?
Is there something you want me to ask you?

Anything really I just want to talk to you and not treat you like a movie source.

>Anything really I just want to talk to you and not treat you like a movie source.
So, there is something you want me to ask you.
I'm not very good at coming up with questions on the spot though.

I'm schizophrenic and I'm developing violent tendencies. I've never cared about people enough to harm them, so I'll probably commit suicide soon. How often do you think of suicide? What are your reasons for pushing forward? Also, how would you kill yourself if you went through with it?

Im taking a shit rn you know

Hobbies, interests, and reasons for continuing to live?

>so I'll probably commit suicide soon.
Why is that?
>How often do you think of suicide?
Every few weeks usually.
>What are your reasons for pushing forward?
Don't feel like dying just yet.
>Also, how would you kill yourself if you went through with it?
Murder suicide
>Im taking a shit rn you know
Oh yea? How's that going for you?

Do you like your life?

>Hobbies
Other than vidya I don't really have any.
>interests
I don't really have any of those either.
>and reasons for continuing to live?
I don't really have a reason, either.

Direct the thoughts else where. Find distractions in everything and they drown out a lot of the bullshit. Sing a song you can't get out of your head. have a conversation with yourself. Just do something you have to take focus to accomplish. It helps.

About three times a day. I work in a warehouse driving forklifts. Driving the cherry picker I frequently get the urge to clip the harness off the safety line and just lean back off the edge.
Usually I talk myself out of it.

"I'd be bored if I was dead."
>bored to death

I'd like to think I'd take the George Carlin approach and fill my pockets with candy and jump off a tall building.

Most likely I'd either put a gun in my mouth again, just haven't had a strong enough urge.

>Do you like your life?
Like is a strong word. I don't really dislike, or like it.
>bored to death
mfw

I made worse drawings as a kid. Trust me

>Why is that?
I just don't have the desire or drive to carry on.
>murder suicide
I don't judge you, not that we care, people have their reasons and life happens.

I mean we are all gonna die sometime, and only have one chance to live a live, even if you may think is not worth it, in any moment something amazing could happen to you. After all that your body will desintegrate and travel through the universe for billions of years, so don't throw the only valuable thing the universe has given you.
