holy shit, i just watched this movie and its a 9/10. dont know why it took me so long to watch. can we have a good dark comedy thread?
bonus points for character narration

>Watch a movie
>Heres comes johnny yet again... starts playing

Shadow graves

it was a completely pointless movie about a bunch a fookin junkies

In Bruges
The Guard
Fargo
The Big Lebowski

Hopefully they don't butcher Porno.

>completely pointless
the point was to realisticly depict the life of a heroin addict and his shitty friends. what should "the point" have been?

I'm looking forward to the sequel, everyone involved has generally been involved with entertaining films, tv shows since the original came out. I can't wait to see Begs and Renton meet for the first time after he gets outta prison.

>Hopefully they don't butcher Porno.

Director coming back to one of its old successes 20 years later? Eeeh...that's a shaky beginning.

Filth (also based on a novel by Irvine Welsh)
Cavalry
Sightseers
Observe and Report

So you're saying it's Scottish Seinfeld with heroin?

>realistically depict the life of a heroin addict
nah son...

Gridlock'd is Heroin kino. No romantic nonsense, just real shit street life as a junkie.

Have you even seen filth?

I have not.

it's shit.

Is that the one where dmx has Tim Roth stab him?

>le every addict lives a gritty action filled life meme
kys

It's good

trainspotting isn't romantic you dumbass. stop posting at any time

I agree OP, I only just watched it recently too and thought it was great.

For a similar vibe check out Lock stock and two smoking barrels or Snatch.
Also in Bruges as others mentioned

Sweet Sixteen is real Scottish herioin kino.

It's not romantic as in sex/love. It romanticizes heroin addiction.

thanks man.

i almost am unhappy when i like movies this much because i know it will be along while before i find something this good again.

If you want to keep with the dark Scotland vibe then watch 'filth' it's got the same feel

Oh yeah apart from the part where the baby dies, his friend has a stroke and dies, he pools through a shitty toilet for a fix and ends up going through a torturous withdrawal period for a week or more. Oh and it gave him a seizure and sent him to hospital too.
Totally made me want to get into it.

how does it do that, though? the part when he is on his knees in that filthy bathroom? or when the baby dies? it only "romanticizes" heroin if you are an edgy wannabe teenager and allow yourself to think that stuff is cool.

is scotland really that shitty? i would have never guessed. it seems so bland and filthy. like an old forgotten movie set

>well, they have butchered Filth

Scotland's lovely, but a Saturday night in Glasgow will have you walking backwards

Yeah but doesn't it also have blue "'''''''''humor''''''''''?

Not as bad now days, depends where you go i guess

>the point
>heroin
>injecting
>needles
do you get it now?

I really want to watch this, but just the thought of needles makes my skin crawl; does it show them shooting up quite a lot or is it off screen implied? The needle entering the skin is what gets me

>Choose life.
>Choose a job.
>Choose a career.
>Choose a family.
>Choose a fucking big television,
>Choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players, and electrical tin can openers.
>Choose good health, low cholesterol and dental insurance.
>Choose fixed-interest mortgage repayments.
>Choose a starter home.
>Choose your friends.
>Choose leisure wear and matching luggage.
>Choose a three piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics.
>Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on a Sunday morning.
>Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth.
>Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pissing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked-up brats you have spawned to replace yourself.
>Choose your future.
>Choose life . . .
>But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life: I chose something else.
>And the reasons?
>There are no reasons.
>Who needs reasons when you've got heroin?

i dont think ive ever seen anyone miss a point so badly, are you retarded?

you convinced me

There it is, the smoking gun. Bout to go buy some heroin now, being a counterculture leech sounds super appealing.

there's maybe like one closeup at the very beginning.
