Any itasha gearheads?

Looks amazing this year

Where the fuck is everyone?

This is why /bant/ is better

that looks dope as fuck. link to album on yt or anywhere?

is this an animu?

Shit, I used to be so into [VOCALOID] when I was in high school. Like obnoxiously into it. Cosplayed and everything. Still have a playlist of like 300+ songs on my YouTube account. I even still listen to some of the songs, but in Utaite versions now.

A lot of the music produced by the Vocaloid community is fantastic. The human singer covers are objectively better though.

Fav Vocaloid songs I still play today:
>Koshitantan - GigaP
>Rolling Girl - Arcane Madder
>Ifudoudou - GigaP
>KiLLER LADY - Hanatan
>Sweet Devil - Kradness
>LUVATORRRRRY! - nqrse
Any of you have fav Vocaloid covers worth listening to?

>P.S. Gumi best girl

Yeah its all on miku base. Ill get a link, hold on

Wagakki Band covers are fantastic. Far and away my favorite, plus they actually look badass. Reol's Lovatory was a real gem, but I dont care to much for her other stuff

mikudb.moe/album/warufuzake/

Also on youtube, Warufuzake by Utsu-P

Trying to find a good Wagakki Band song on YT. Their Kagerou Days cover is interesting, but it seems like they rely overly on the traditional Japanese instruments for their appeal. Personally my weeb level isn't high enough to be into the weird vibrato and reed flute.

You know what seems like it should have happened but didn't? Vocaloid Dubstep. You would expect there to be more overlap in the fan base, during the high school and early college years at least.

...

thanks my dude, really appreciate the links! Gonna give it a listen tomorrow while driving

A good deal of EDM, but that is true that it's a shame real dubstep never broke onto the vocaloid scene.

Wowaka surprised me though with their chiptune remixes. Really enjoyed that.

might be too normie tier for you but Porter Robinson is a fan and has used vocaloids in a few of his tracks

youtube.com/watch?v=HAIDqt2aUek

Got me on that nostalgia trip now. Why did this song never get a cover?

Hope you enjoy! If you have time, there are some great PV videos for some Warufuzake. Utsu-P always has crazy vids, but I personally liked Ghost Under the Umbrella the most (track 4)

Not overly normie. Interesting use of Vocaloid in the lyrics though. Kind of neat, with the theme of the song. Not worth downloading, but worth listening to.
If you're into the EDM sound then you might be into this one

Ghost Under the Umbrella is a bit neat. I like things with Metal influence in them. You probably know this one, right?
youtube.com/watch?v=VgmwBuuMvqc

Woah that's some weird stuff. Not sure how I feel about that

Also, inb4 dick-measuring contest about who has the most obscure song to trot out

I used to spend entire days with these PVs and my VR headset. Just found the Original Sin song saga today and I can't wait to get back to my hometown and binge the fuck out of it in 3D

But yeah, bacteria is definitely under the same "shock factor" experience as Ghost under the Umbrella. Even after it goes away, they're great videos

Actually, wait, let me see if I can still find it...
This is the most shameful Vocaloid experience. Some squeaky Japanese synthesized metal-ish.
This was my high school break-up song. I felt like it was channeling my raw emotions at the time. Looking back that's silly, but I'm still fond of this song.
>Nostalgia hour for me now, and y'all are along for the ride
youtube.com/watch?v=cZVK00SfFkk

Nice song. Don't see what shameful about it, everyone has a song that really jived with them at one point or another. I guess people just don't think of vocaloid when they think of that.

...

...

I suppose. I've fallen all the way down the "try desperately to find Vocaloid covers that live up to your now more refined musical standards" hole. I'll never find a decent version of Matryoshka. Shit, I'll never find a decent version of World's End Dancehall.

Well, sadly the thread will die. Not because of anything it did wrong, but because it's not one of the FB fap/porn/rate/shouldn't share/cancer memes threads that Sup Forums is made of nowadays.

Thank you OP for bringing just a little bit of life back to this shithole.

I'm off to sleep, but I hope you two other posters have a nice time. Listen to whatever you like. Shameful or not.

That sucks. Covers are awesome if it's band you like or you know their input on a song is game changing, but a lot of the appeal comes from the characters or the stories they can tell.
You just don't find many other genres that can do that. Every producer has their unique style, but all their works creates a charcter in your mind that constantly is evolving. You can have screaming and light lost-childhood stuff but it still all makes sense to be coming from these characters. It's not even a genre, because the content spans every type of lyrical music out there. Even when they're not "themselves", you can get lost for hours in the stories.
I dunno. It's stupidly late for me and I'm rambling. I guess that's my reasoning for why I love the community so much.
OP signing off~
