Eh, I think that's a coincidence. There was a character named "Darth Vader" in the rough draft script even though he was a completely separate character from the Knight of Sith character (Finnis Valorum), and in the rough draft he dies at the end when the Death Star is destroyed. He also is much more "evil for evil's sake" than Vader was; he's more like Tarkin than anything.
