I woke up with this but smaller, still was sore tho. Went to work, just got off. Hurts like a bitch. A solid 6/10 when I walk and I've broken bones so that's pretty bad. It is shiny under light and has the texture of a pimple.

I would do a couple things here...
1. Mark around the edges of infections like this with a pen, that way you can tell if its increasing in size or shrinking. Note times so you can see how its growing etc.
2. See a doctor/nurse/healthcare provider you may need antibiotics or to have it drained etc.

Yeah, could be infection or bug bite. Consider getting thee to a doctor, especially if you're already taking immuno-suppressor drugs. Could also be an abscess with pus sitting deeply.
