the problem is not the quantity but the quality. there is no doubt that there are a lot of new rock bands but how many of them would you consider "major" rock bands?
Alvvays, Alex G, and Beach Fossils are the only good artists in that list, the rest are mediocre at best

Amen, "Indie" is a corporate buzzword, real indie shit, where the band writes their own songs, produces their own albums, still exists, but you gotta dig for it.
