Thirteen days sober. Been an alcoholic for eight years. I'm having cravings like I've never had before.

What can I do to stay motivated to keep sober? I'm having some serious issues here.

Are you going it alone or is some sort of healthcare involved?

Alone, but my wife is supporting me 100%.

First thing you have to do is surround yourself with people who support your sobriety.

Porn and video games also start running

Go to a bar and celebrate, you deserve it! But remember, just a couple of beers...

What got you through the first 13 days?

Life is fucking good. You probably didn't realize that when you started drinking but if you manage to become clean and find something to truly devote yourself to, everything will start to make sense.

Nothing will really help as alcohol is the only thing that truly fills the void. You'll deny it until the moment you can't.

To be honest, after eight years of wasting away being a drunk I just got sick and fucking tired of it. I have a wife and a son and I don't want to waste away more years of my life.

Combat vet. I started drinking after my first deployment and hadn't stopped since.

Drink a shit load of water and try exercise , just try to remember how much better life would be for you and your wife without alcohol

>smoke or vape weed
No troll

I've been taking Vivitrol injections. Normally used for opioid addicts but has good results for alcoholism. I'm on the severe end of alcoholism and could use any help I can get for the cravings. I've been sober 7 months now and feeling pretty good. Look into the Vivitrol, it really does help with cravings. Good luck

shove a hose up your ass and poor down vodka. This way you're not drinking it.

Or try picking up heroin. It'll get your mind off the alcohol cravings.

Smoke weed. Pot. The ganja. Marijuana. Cannabis.

Get high on life dude and don't think about it.

Drink a beer in the shower. It's amazing and doesn't count if you do it in the shower.

This is someone who hasn't been able to find happiness after becoming sober. We're not all like that, matter of fact we can all find happiness if we know where to look.

Hopefully you will as well.

Post nudes of your wife

I've Heard heroin is nearly as addictive and destructive as cannabis.

That's a great motivation-family.
Can you apply for assistance from the military?
Also if you have military training it probably shows you have at least a decent amount of self disclipine at some point in your life.
have you been exposed to trauma that made you drink?

Thanks. I'll certainly look into it.

Relapse and enjoy yourself. You only have one life so why resign yourself to living in languish?

hapiness is just a word you can find it in the dictionary if u really want to

Heroin is not bad if you're used to handling your drink.

Try chewing on gum, straws ect.

Not him but I found happiness at 39. Still happy at 43. The problem is expecting happiness to fix anything, fill the void or make the world any less shitty. Life still sucks just as hard, I just have this happiness despite it.

Op is not quitting smoking idiot, he's a drunk piece of shit

Wut...
