It's a manga that's been running for 20+ years now, and it's pretty incredible. One of the things that's most interesting about it, is that the author has basically reinvented himself in his style several times throughout the series, while still keeping it true to its roots. During the first 10 volumes (referred to collectively as the "Golden Age" arc), it's basically gritty 80s style manga of purely dark medieval warfare, becoming borderlined historical fiction. but in volumes 11-12+ literally hell opens up and pours itself onto earth evil dead style but in a completely serious manner. Over the next ~5 volumes you have every bit of bad in his world corrupted and risen to full blown demonic rape-fests; corrupt priests burning everyone at the stake, packs of roving goblins kidnapping women, raping and impregnating them to make more monsters, an evil god-emporer who tries to take over the world etc. It then turns into a traditional swords/sorcery fantasy where Guts assembles a team of rag-tag heroes to destroy the five God Hands of hell, one of whom was his best friend and rival during the Golden Age.

I've just completed watching the 25 episode original Berserk anime subbed. Should I continue watching the anime or read the manga? Or both?

Good stuff, I think the original anime is great.
I'd strongly recommend reading the manga.
You can continue where the anime left off (about Volume 14), or choose to start from the beginning. It'd be better to start from the beginning since the anime doesn't cover everything, but you're honestly fine continuing where the anime left off, can always go back and read it.
After you catch up with the manga, then I'd recommend watching the newer anime if you want more Berserk. It's not a good adaptation, but if you can get past the bad CGI, it can be enjoyable.
The movies are just the Golden Age arc, which is what the original anime is) and given that you should also read it before watching the movies, it'd be the 3rd time going through that arc and the movies don't really add much more to the experience.
tl;dr
Continue manga from Volume 14 (or from beginning if you want to get it all)
then watch Berserk 2016/2017
then optional movies.

Damn user, those are some of my favorites.
Evangelion is incredibly iconic and feels larger than life in so many ways. I've seen it twice and the movies 4-5 times each. I dunno if it really is as deep/philosophical as people claim, but I'll be damned if isn't an impressive show.
Ghost in the Shell is one of the highest quality anime in my opinion. Particularly with SAC and 2nd Gig. Everything from animation, characters, plot, direction, to music, artstyle, was just so well done. It didn't even feel like anime, it felt like something better. I'd say watch the original movie first, then watch SAC and 2nd Gig, then finish off the movies. I think the most recent was Arise. Some people didn't like it at all, I thought it was pretty good.
