1. To get the references to it in pop-culture
2. To see Orson Welles ham it up
3. To be able to understand how much movies have improved over time

KANE?

>references to it in pop-culture

CAUZ ITS THE BEST MOVIE EVER MADE YA DOOFUS

Because if you watch it, you will not be able to believe what year it was made.
It's like 20 years ahead of its time. Maybe it's not much to you, I understand that, but I personally respect that...plus it's quite interesting.

>ANE(aneaneane)
>took the anus, bro

...

OP here. I'm not convinced, not watching it today unless a convincing post appears.

-plot is relevant to the current political climate
-best watched before or after marriage as that is a major theme
-you shouldn't always be the one to compromise so you only get two reasons.

Because it's enjoyable.

Also one gag in Family Guy.

fuckin took the anus bro

it would be easier to sell you a pen

Honestly don't watch it, you don't deserve it. Just crack open that Blue Ribbon and watch Avengers or something.

Close one, but you broke a rule my dear friend.

This.

This is the biggest bullshit ever. Citizen Kane is really a forced meme.
>Before CK films were organized chronologically
Intolerance (1916) literally a puzzle film with shuffled chronology
>montage of table
A meme. As if there were no montage prior to CK. Fucking Man with a movie Camera ok?
>muh camera angles
Stagecoach, Cabinet of Dr. Caligari etc
>muh deep focus
A meme. ALL films were in deep focus from the beginning of cinema. That's how basic lens works. As for the use of background for narrative - La grande illusion, Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.
>Musical Score
The Gold Rush, City Lights
>Ceilings
Greed, Stagecoach, Cabinet of Caligari
>Acting
kek. Charlie Chaplin.

1. It's pretty entertaining
2. You're a fucking pleb
3. There are far worse things you could do with your time

>You'll have patrician taste
>You'll silence the plebs and Marvel-tier plebs who have no taste
>It's Orson Welles

Close one, but the 3rd is not convincing.

Orson Welles is a regarded as a master of cinema, 2bh f-a-m. The movie brats and all others that followed looked up to the masters of cinema in film school.

AHHHHHHHH
THE FRENCH

it's always been celebrated for its sexcellence

It is well made
It is well acted
To see what the fuss is about

>To be able to understand how much movies have improved over time
>2016
>movies are now nothing but bloated spectacles for manchilds
>and even these are failing

ROSS

>over time
until 2005 ofc

and that Welles was 24
and that it was his first film

1- It's an antertaining movie
2- It's an antertaining movie
3- It's an antertaining movie

Well first actual completed movie. His first was scrapped in the late 30s

Don't, watch The Third Man instead

they actually cheated with more than a few of the deep focus shots - they are actually special effects created by matting two separate elements with an optical printer
Kane has as many effects shots as Star Wars

That's so arbitrary though

>his first was scrapped in the late 30s
no, this is first film
shooting with friends some clips to be shown as an interlude between acts of a stage play is not a film

he didnt direct that you moron

No, user, his first picture deal with RKO when down the shit hole. They then turned their attention to Welles's next idea which was Citizen Kane

a script for a film is not a film

Just admit you're wrong, you fucking nigger.

But he's right, you retard. Citizen kane IS his first film.

>this entire post
A meme.

>talking to yourself in 3rd person
He had 2 ideas, one was partially filmed then scrapped, and then they moved onto Citizen Kane

it's too triggering, I'm swiss

Aight this one is convincing. Watching it this evening.

>I saw Citizen Kane with Roger Ebert's commentaries: The Post.

>partially filmed then scrapped
NOT
A
FILM

Here are three reasons why shouldn't bother with it:

1. You made a thread asking for reasons for why you should see it, as if the film is so bad it doesn't warrant seeing unless one can be convinced to do so.
2. You haven't seen it till now, and assuming you're someone who likes films and may even consider yourself an avid fan of the medium, that brings up a red flag.
3. Because of 1 and 2, it seems that you will get little value in watching it, due impart to your implied non-existent knowledge of cinema, so you're better off just not watching it. Never mind the fact that it's one of the best films ever made, it is best you just don't bother with it. Chances are you'll most likely be bored with the film and then proceed to make some stupid thread about how "gay" or "boring" the film was.

Just accept the fact that cinema might not be for you.
