Hip Hop VS: Redux

Turns out I was leaving out a lot last time and I made a few errors with coasts. Let's try again.

Pick one coast/area. The other albums get erased from history.

(Last thread: rbt.asia/mu/thread/74151909/ )

Midwest, and it's not even close.

*smashes the south button*

>kanye + eminem + jd vs a bunch of backpacker faggotry and overrated bullshit oldheads swear is significant

lmao midwest easily

Black Star would be a much better replacement to Black on Both Sides.

>a bunch of backpacker faggotry and overrated bullshit oldheads swear is significant
So Backpack/old = bad now or what?

>lupe
>chance
>danny
>not backpacker faggotry
wasted trips

It does if you're trying to incite controversy with no substance.

Midwest > East > West >>> South

Absolutely horrible picks.
I get it you wanted some variety in there, but how the fuck does b4da$$ make it on there? Acid Rap too? For real?

why tf would you put Stankonia over ATLiens and Aquemini.

If you wanna make your own version you're more than welcome to. I'd like to see your favorites. Or just tell me what the "bad" picks are.

Well clarify the viewpoint more then. What does "backpacker" mean and why are you using it negatively.

Hip-hop is like Emo, Midwest is the best

Midwest

>East: Illmatic, The Low End Theory and B4.DD.$$
>West: Doggystyle and good kid, m.A.A.d city
>South: Stankonia and Rodeo
>Mid-West: XXX and Late Registration
This is a pretty hard decision to make, but if someone forced me to choose one I would definitely choose East Coast.

East > West > South > Garbage

>no Screw on south

enough reason to pick South

sorry but i cant let donuts die. and i am a fan of pinata

Can't be arsed to make a collage, but here goes:

East:
GZA - Liquid Swords
Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Lynx...
Wu-Tang Clan - Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
Big L - Lyfestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous
Gang Starr - Hard To Earn
Jeru The Damaja - The Sun Rises In The East
Scientifik - Criminal
Nas - Illmatic
Mobb Deep - The Infamous

West:
Snoop Dogg - Doggystyle
Souls Of Mischief - 93 Til Infinity
DJ Shadow - Endtroducing
Warren G - Regulate... G Funk Era
Earl Sweatshirt - Doris
2Pac - Me Against The World
B.G. Knocc Out & Dresta - Real Brothas
Eazy-E - It's On (Dr. Dre) 187um Killa
Deltron 3030 - Deltron 3030

South (I guess Memphis is South too):
Geto Boys - We Can't Be Stopped
Three-6 Mafia - Mystic Stylez
Scarface - The Diary
Tommy Wright III - On The Run
Koopsta Knicca - Da Devil's Playground: Underground Solo
Blackout - Dreamworld
N.O.D - Niggaz Of Destruction
Triple Six Mafia - Underground Vol. 1: 1991-1994
Denzel Curry - Nostalgic 64

Midwest is similar to OP except I'd add Atrocity Exhibition and 5 Elementz - The Album Time Forgot in place of Acid Rap and Lupe Fiasco, whatever it is.

I haven't heard all of these but surprisingly going with Mid West on this one.

If anyone legitimately picks something other than East Coast you know nothing about hip hop and should go back to /r/eddit

I like your rating system.

It's either your taste is shit or you haven't listened to mos def yet.

Your chart is retarded. You didn't even put Wu-Tang, Biggie, Mobb Deep, etc. in your east side, but you included Joey Badass and Jedi Mind Tricks??? You have the same problem for west and south as well - shitty choice of albums. And midwest is probably the worst, none of those albums sound midwest, they just happen to feature artists from there. If you want midwest sound stick to Eminem and Bone Thugs N Harmony. Saying Chance, Kanye, and Danny Brown sound like typical midwest is objectively wrong. You also have piƱata in midwest, which was produced by madlib, who you have in west coast - cringe worthy post OP

Midwest doesn't have a sound though

Make your own then. Let's see what your "better version" is. You're just nagging to nag.

This guy did a good job at least. I like his picks.

reeeeEEEE WHERE ARE THE ALBUMS I LIKE SHIT CHART

come on now son, it's a 3x3 spread, of course somebody is gonna be left out. If anything I'm glad he didn't put in the fucking obvious choices (Wu, Biggie, Mobb, really?) and included some more modern examples for a change.

Also >complains about no Wu
>completely overlooks Raekwon

THANK YOU. I avoided the obvious shit like biggie and Tupac on purpose. I wanted as much variety for the coasts as I could get.

(And of course personal taste did play a part in one or two album choices).

>make a chart to summarize different regions sounds
>don't use the most definitive albums from each region
wow. he really thought outside the box for this one

I have not, I have a free hour today to listen though.

This. East coast would have my vote on the early Wu solo/Mobb Deep alone.

You just copied the thread from yesterday and added south and midwest. This is the second time people have shat on you for your album choices. Are you really surprised?

>no gucci mane

Yeah it's kinda unfair to do a competition if you're not gonna exclude the greats, because hurr durr it's too mainstream.

>not gonna exclude
Sorry had a brain aneurysm. *not gonna include

I made some very obvious changes first off.

Secondly: Wow big shock! People disagreeing on Sup Forums! Now I gotta quit and never come back right?

Just do some more research next time big boy

I wanted a balance of everything. Some classics. Some new school. Some underground greats. "Research" wasn't needed.

Not every single top list needs 36 Chambers.

What east coast should look like

What west coast should look like

What the south should look like

why would you pick the gayest and most literally who of southern albums (three 6 and outkast are good though)

if we are judging by these albums, Midwest by far.

did you actually take mystic stylez, soul food, and rodeo off of south chart for garbage like cunninlynguists and denzel curry and big krit
end your life

In all honesty, I don't really enjoy southern rap so these were the albums that define the south the most to me. And I took of Travis because Migos are more influential, even if they're trash

I'm not a fan of Southern either aside from a few highlights. I had a friend who was a bigger southern fan help me with it.

East >>>>>>> West > Midwest >>>>>>>>>> South.

South is just Outkast and that one UGK album. East contains 4 GOAT contenders. Midwest and West are pretty good.

East, easily, all great albums other than Public Enemy (who I never really got)

East > South >>> West >>>>>>>>> Midwest
