Be born to poor, working class family

>be born to poor, working class family
>can't afford much, but we're able to avoid going hungry, winters are a bit cold though
>work hard in school
>can't afford private tuition, but manage to get good grades due to hard work and perseverance
>go to university, work hard for 3 years, don't go out drinking at all in order to save money
>graduate with 5 figures of debt anyway because my parents can barely afford to pay for themselves, let alone help me out with university costs
>get a job, gain experience
>after 6 months join another company, for a higher salary, but longer hours plus mandatory out-of-hours periods of being on call
>work at it for several years, still don't go out spending money on drinks or fancy restaurants or holiday, just save as much as possible for a mortgage deposit
>manage to put together a mid-5-figure deposit
>finally ready to move onto the property ladder, find a small flat in a fairly rough part of the city with an asking price that I can afford
>see the place at a mass viewing, it's a bit worse than the advert showed but it'll do
>put in an offer
>wait
>get told I've been outbid by a couple who were also at the viewing. from overhearing them talking to each other at it I know that they earn significantly less than me, but one of them has parents who are giving them £80k to use as a mortgage deposit

Is this fair?

Yes and no

Absolutely not.

>is this fair

Yes, dont be an envious pos..everything else you have done with your life is great. Don't ruin it with envy

So I should just shut up and accept it? Go back home and shiver in the winter?

>everything else you have done with your life is great
I have precious little to show for it.

Yes, they have more money than you and so get the property, stop being salty.

You'd have done the same in their position, or you would do the same for your children if you had the money.

Yes because their parents worked hard to be able to do that for their kids. Just keep looking for another place to buy. At this rate, and if you raise your kids right, you'll be able to give them that boost that you didn't get.

Dont you still have that money ? just go find another property.

I've been outbid on several properties. A lot of first time buyers get financial help from their parents here.

My money is only useful if I can spend it.

You think that's bad.

>Try to buy new house in nice subdivision.
>The builders have a "preferred" mortgage lender
>Get declined because I'm working as a contractor and not full time
>Go to Lending Tree, get about a dozen offers because I qualify for a VA loan
>put in offer on new house at full asking price
>don't get house
>get beat out by another couple who put in a LOWER bid, but used the preferred lender
>turns out the home builders and the mortgage lenders are owned by the same company

Is that legal?

life isn't fair

but it's durr free market fuxing de econmy

No, the government should step in and tell those evil shitlords that you aren't allowed to help out your children and all wealth should be redistributed evenly because it makes me feel good at night.

At least you can have the satisfaction of having to make them pay more for it because they bid more. It sucks, but it is what it is

It's tremendously petty of me, but I would quite like the housing market to crash here.

>Is this fair?
probably not but you're an adult so you should understand that the world isn't fair
and never will be

dw, it will.
Englands only so big.
Also, bong bro, which way are you voting?
Leave or Remain ?

(house prices will be cheaper if we leave the EU )

Yes because their parents worked hard like you did so that they could give their kids a leg up. If you want to eventually do that for your kids you should be allowed to do so.

I want us out.

Better question is once you've finally made it.... Are you going to economical help your kids like your Grandparents didn't?

>This absolute lad

That's the shitty thing, financial competition is good and bad.

>>work hard, get money and give it to your family so that they can have a better life
>>there are limited resources so if your kids are doing disproportionately well, someone else is doing worse as a result

I mean obviously people are going to choose to empower their families instead of the other randos in society, you can't blame them.

I'm not going to have kids. I can't guarantee them a good life.

We'll never get anywhere if we're forced to take in hundreds of thousands of immigrants every year. Leaving is the only sane choice.

No they don't.

>is this fair?

Yes.

His parents worked hard in order to do that. Go and do the same if you want to give that to your kids.

Stop whining like a faggot. That's an attitude of a cuck

Why, so you can buy a house cheap now then get monumentally fucked once the interest rates go up and your monthly mortgage payment goes through the roof?

>I'm not having kids

So why are you trying buy property? Why not rent some high rise condo with a hot tub? Your money will be useless when your dead.

No offence user, I'm not a hedonist, but your doing it wrong.

>Drop out of gymnasium because i cba
>Get low wage job
>Live with family for 2 years saving money
>Buy appartment, fully pay the bank loan to not pay the high interest
>2 years later, quarter of a million in the bank
>Having fun even though job is a bit shitty

How can Britbongs even compete?

No - it's about seeing other people suffer from negative equity and/or high interest rates.

Throughout fucking history man has dragged himself up and you want to stop now, right at the edge of the greatest times experienced by the human race? Have kids so that they can continue the great struggle that your ancestors started you fucking degenerate

>I couldn't get a home, my life is over and I'll suicide

#justlondonthings

Renting in London is a miserable experience. The majority of the housing stock available is of an extremely poor standard. Good quality rentals are out of my price range.

Keep struggling brother. Your a strong man.

I had a rough time myself but i live in a small town where it is a bit easier to survive.

I'd figure renting would be cheaper then buying, oh well.

Life isn't fair to you, but that situation was fair. I'm sorry for you, user.

why not go on gibs, make babies and get a house for free?

>solving socialism problems with more socialism
It won't work britbong. Execute your labor party and get a real conservative party in charge. You badly need it.

>I'm not going to have kids

at least have two to replace yourself and your wife.

It's not. Mortgage repayments are typically less than privately renting a comparable property. It's a sick joke - the people who can afford to get on the ladder end up paying less than those who can't.

I ask myself the same question sometimes.

No. I'll not perpetuate this madness.

Britanon, I understand the way you feel about having kids.

Why should you have kids when the government is just going to force you to pay for everyone else's, especially immigrant scum only there for gibs?

You've gotta fight user, we all have to. We have a duty to western civilization, to keep it going. If we stop breeding, the West will die.

Life of the K selected race. Fight user, do not go quietly!

>quarter of a million in the bank

In which currency, min ven?

>Rich people have money
MORE NEWS AT 7, FUCK OFF

What madness, white people are the only people making sanity

DK obviously. So around 33k euro.

When interest rates go up, it doesn't affect people who already have mortgages. Your rate is locked in.

Depends on the type of the mortgage, whether it's a tracker or fixed.

Also, over here, mortgages generally don't cover the entire repayment period. You have to get another one after your current one ends.

>Depends on the type of the mortgage, whether it's a tracker or fixed.
I see. Maybe it's different in the UK. I don't know a single person that doesn't have a fixed rate.

>Also, over here, mortgages generally don't cover the entire repayment period. You have to get another one after your current one ends.
Really? Here, you get a 30-year mortgage and if you make payments for 30 years, it's over. If you get a 15-year, the payment is higher but it's over after 15. How does it work there?

Pretty much. In the end, the lower bid meant more money for the home builders/mortgage company. I told the told the real estate agent off a bit, threatened to complain to the VA, but I could tell there wasn't I could do to grange the outcome.

In the end,it all worked out. I was able to buy a two year old home in the same subdivision for a slightly cheaper price.

Ah, sorry, I skipped a couple steps in my post. The initial period, that the advertised interest rate is for, on a mortgage doesn't usually cover the entire repayment period, usually just 2-5 years (that's what I meant when I said mortgages don't usually cover the entire repayment period). After that you have to start paying the lender's standard variable rate (typically worse than the rate during the initial period, so my mindset is that I'd always want to look around to switch mortgage provider to save money after the initial period ends).

It works a little differently in the UK.

That's actually very fucking stupid. I'm sorry.

My parents are giving me €150k and its likely my gf will get a similar amount from her parents too. There is every likelihood that I will live in a decent sized house, in a nice neighborhood with no mortgage.

Also my job is pretty sweat. Wendys and all that.

>LAND OF THE FREE

You sound like the type of person who should have kids

Just got my first house $0 down, got $3000 back, locked in at 3.5% because its a rural property, thanks USDA! Rural meaning about an hour from seattle.

Had $5000 in savings, only been at job for one year, no credit history before that, lol

>I have precious little to show for it.
I think you should be proud of yourself user. I can see you are not nigger tier. Good luck m8!

How much does the house cost in total?

My situation was the same as yours, until the '5 figures of debt' part.

I worked my dick off in college and paid for a almost all of it, only came out with about $5,000.

Moved up quick in my first company, making about $50,000, still very low hours, less than 40 a week with plenty of days off whenever I want.

What's your degree?

i agree with this guy. You could make great white kids with a great moral.

Computer Science.

I've mostly paid back my student debt now. It's down to a couple of thousand pounds.

The university I went to puts restrictions on working while studying, so I was only able to earn money doing summer internships.

>being a fucking mortgage cuck
Enjoy being tied to your home and not having any mobility.

>The university I went to puts restrictions on working while studying
Well, that's fucking stupid.

Why would they do that if you or your family doesn't have the money?

I worked 50+ hours a week while in school.

Their parents or their parents parents worked hard enough to secure that for their children. The work was done by someone who earned that money, and they chose to use the money to put towards the future of their family, how is that not fair?

When you grow up, unless you ruin your country with Communism or the like, you too can pass on some money to your kids so they don't have to struggle like you did (I wouldn't recommend giving them too much though until later in life, if you do, their work ethic will be ruined and they will become entitled pieces of shit as we see in the millennials).

They do offer some financial aid to students from poor families, but like I said, I still came out with 5 figures of debt.

I'll be honest, I think I would have failed if I'd been working a full time job as well as studying.

Well, my grades were bad due to that, so it's not like it's easy working in school.

>>graduate with 5 figures of debt
>>manage to put together a mid-5-figure deposit

fucking retard. I have £15k in the bank and I'm still saving up before I move out. Don't cry that you can't get a house because you only have a £3,500 deposit and don't act like student debt means anything at all considering you only pay a tiny percentage back and only because you earn more than £18k pa

fucking entitled gen z subhuman trash wants everything for free

Yes, because their parents worked hard to ensure they would be able to out-do you, whose parents did not work as hard. This is Darwinism at its finest.

>£3,500 deposit
Where did that figure come from? I have a lot more than that to use as a deposit. More than ten times it, in fact.

you post like an autist. have you considered that is why nobody will give you a house?

>Is this fair?
"Fair" is an illusion. Stop crying about it and move on.

Says the person who posts:

>fucking retard
>fucking entitled gen z subhuman trash wants everything for free
>you post like an autist

Aren't you eligible for right to buy?

Yep, but so are lots of other people.
