Maybe, but this is the best album.

They're in the top 5.

GOAT proto-britpop

nah

I mean, when the default objective best is obvious (You know who I'm talking about, don't play dumb),

the next 5 are...

1. The Who
2. The Velvet Underground
3. The Kinks
4. The Beach Boys
5. The Zombies

I really fucking love the kinks but I'm not sure if they are a better band than the beatles

This is the most British album ever made.

>Every single song is unique and catchy
How did he do it?

the two most overrated pop albums of the 60s.

In the top 5 but TVU is number 1

I feel like the sound quality is awful on every Kinks release I've ever heard.

EVER FALLEN IN LOVE WITH SOMEONE

>I'm not sure if they are a better band than the beatles
They weren't, but people think they're cool when they say otherwise.

But their best album was in the 70's.

It sincerely blows my mind that someone could actually think this.

You must get your mind blown a lot then.

>Beatles
>Zep
>Stones
>Who
Kinks are up there for sure. I'll give them Top 10 for sure because of the 3 minutes ditties. I'll give them Top 5 because they had socially transgressive songs with a fun chorus you can still sing while blackout drunk and groping a tranny. Plus that one they used on The Sopranos when a bunch of people got murdered - lyrics about the decline of the British Empire.

>You Really Got Me
>Lola
>Dedicated Follower of Fashion
>Living on a Thin Line

I suppose i'm often surprised at how shit some people's taste can be.

Just no, lol

>I pushed her away. I walked to the door.
>I fell to the floor. I got down on my knees.
>I looked at her, and she at me.
>
>Well that's the way that I want it to stay.
>And I always want it to be that way for my Lola.
>Lo lo lo lo Lola.
>
>Girls will be boys, and boys will be girls.
>It's a mixed up, muddled up, shook up world,
>Except for Lola. Lo lo lo lo Lola.
>
>Well I left home just a week before,
>And I've never ever kissed a woman before,
>But Lola smiled and took me by the hand,
>And said, "Little boy, gonna make you a man."'

Thank you Based Chatterley

>love song to a trap
is ray /ourguy/?

>They agreed to a peck on the cheek and went home friends?
>He fucked the tranny?
>The tranny fucked him?
This is deliciously ambiguous - and over 40 years old.

You're surprised people don't enjoy safe pop rock and psychedelic pop? Really takes the ol' noggin for a joggin'?

>The Mothers of Invention
>The Velvet Underground
>Soft Machine
>Procol Harum
>Silver Apples

not even close

I LIKE The Kinks.

You can't start a thread calling something "the best", it triggers Sup Forums and just causes every reply to be calling bands half as good better just to spite OP.

Not even top 25

...

They definitely far surpassed the Beatles when it comes to lyrics

Wow he did silly stuff on stage, that means their music is good. NO!

But that's all that's ever happened here

if you dont think the rolling stones are good then youre probably a loser

Not a single mention of the doors

fucking shameful

Later Kinks is underrated, people only talk about their early stuff and seem to hate everything after Lola, but they have a lot of really great songs in the 70's.

dubs trips speak the truth

yeah, I feel their production was pretty poor on most their early stuff.

no perception

My vote would be between the mothers and the velvets. Kinks are great though, villiage green society is one of the most underrated albums of that decade. But im not really a fan of the kinks pre village or after, just kinda like that one only.
