Grime is a forced meme that has nothing to offer. Never did.

t. tasteless amerifat

This.

Grime is shit seriously they claimed not to be a sub-genre of hip-hop but a matter of fact they're. Fuck your ragga/dnb bs, Brits negros don't have it compared to their American counter-part. Just stick to your tea-drinking you fucking fags.

Its worlds above trap and memerap

lol

t.overly pretentious yuropoor who pretends grime and hip-hop aren't the same thing since americans can do hip-hop better than anyone else and if you it were to be called hip-hop it would all be garbage so you invent a new fake genre that doesn't require good flow or clever wordplay

not much beyond boy in da corner album wise imho

This is true. There is probably about 3 or 4 Grime albums/mixtapes which aren't more than half shit.

The best stuff is still only on radio.

wiley is pretty decent

Boy In Da Corner
Godfather
Konichiwa
Made In The Manor

that's about it

TRIM
it is though, especially when it comes to production

Would you honestly put Godfather and Made In The Manor over Treddin On Thin Ice and Home Sweet Home? I wouldn't put any Skepta mixtape up there because they are all pretty bad.

Trim - 1-800 Dinosaur is probably one of only two good Grime mixtapes released this decade so far. Surprised it was as good as it was.

Album wise it's essentially a wasteland, most of the "golden" grime tracks are always singles or shit that was recorded on a fucking nokia back in 2006.

Wiley's "Godfather" is very recent and probably a solid 7/10 album wise, it has some fantastic tracks throughout but like most grime albums it's mostly a collection of songs that can either be a hit or a miss. It's definitely not a miracle but it's one of the few "albums" that exist in grime that aren't "GRIZLE GRIME VOL XVVVIII 7 FT MC DARKMAN".

Try and stay away from the supposed "grime" tracks that are just UK accents rapping the same ten bars over a slightly different US beats. A beautiful example of this is Dizzee's discography after Boy in Da Corner. He occasionally drops genuinely good grime tracks but he still loves money over everything so he stays making shitty mainstream tracks.

Finding good grime tracks and artists is much harder in comparison to finding good rappers, as grime is very scarcely covered by anyone and it's essentially still "underground" if it's anyone but BBK.

It's not for us. They are just making bangers and street music for thugs and wiggers and uni lads etc. It's basically like Britains version of Future and trap rap. You're not going to find any canonical works of art there if that's what you're looking for.

>It's basically like Britains version of Future and trap rap
That's what it's become now, it never used to be like that. On some occasions it still sounds like how it used to, but not often.

Whats disapointing about dizzee is he hasnt grow as an artist at all, his new material is still "im the baddest" and just all the old cliches of rapping and being a roadman.

>implying it's an album genre

rockist yank detected

Grime is gangsta uk garage

>being a roadman
Does he actually still do that? I can understand most grime artists actually are roadmans since they have to keep an image up but even Dizzee himself acknowledges the fact that he's was/is a mainstream pop artist.

Decade later same bars same shit worse beats as all his beats sound like trap beats now listen to space, which i thought hed talk about some cool subject matters literally infinite things you can talk about in a song called space and he says nothing

Trap beats have been the 'in' thing in Grime for ages now, which is a shame since I think they are shit. Only really Faze Miyake is any good at making them sound alright.

Dizzee coming back to make "grime" just seems like another cash grab move since his pop appeal is slowing down a bit and grime is currently a mainstream pop phenomena (with the likes of stormzy and skepta)

grime isnt an album genre
youre better of checking mixtapes
