I genuinely do not see the appeal of WoT.

Sometimes you just want to watch a cheesy fantasy flick

the first few episodes will be great, then the next 8 will drag on going nowhere

First for braid pulling!

>it's a seanchan episode

just like book the series!

I just finished the last book about a week ago. After reading it for about 10 years, I can honestly say that it is the best book series I've ever read.

Robert Jordan was able to write a world that simply felt alive. It's a hard thing for me to explain. He was able to set up thousands of years of history, languages and races. It was just a very solid smooth experience. It's not going to be everyone's cup of tea.

It's a very deep and interesting story set in a huge world. But if you're going to read it then I suggest you try and read them back to back.

I read up to book 5 or 6 I think then I put the series down for a year or so, when I came back it took me a while to get back into the rhythm and to pick up what was going on. There are A LOT of characters in this series and it can be annoying to try and remember them all as some of them disappear for 1 or 2 books then they come straight back into the center of things and you're like " who is this again?".

The author spends WAY too much time on unnecessary descriptions but otherwise it's a very solid read. The worldbuilding is done exceptionally well (a bit too well though), the fight scenes are really cool and well balanced, and the character interactions are entertaining as hell. The coherence depends on a bit of familiarization, it all comes together quite well once you know what's what. I'll concede that, until you have that context, it's a mess.

If you like fantasy then I recomend the series but be prepared for the long haul.

why didn't rand genocide those fucks

So the update is there is no update. Very informative.

>as a kid

Fuck these slaver motherfuckers!!

>as an adult

Fuck these slaver motherfuckers for giving me a petplay fetish!!

>it's a nine-horse hitch episode

This is an important update.

>they will never make "Ashaman. Kill!" into the gruesome PTSD inducing battlefield horror it's supposed to be

>Rand blacks out
>oh man Rand you would not BELIEVE how crazy that battle was SORRY YOU MISSED IT.

>Perrin hesitated before answering. He had dreaded this. He felt about the wolves as he did about Two Rivers people. /They have caged Shadowkiller/, he thought at last. That was what the wolves called Rand, but he had no idea whether they considered Rand important.

>The shock filling his mind was answer enough, but howls filled the night, near and far, howls filled with anger and fear. In the camp horses whinnied fearfully, stamping their hooves as they shied against the picket ropes. Men ran to calm them, and others to peer into the darkness as if expecting a huge pack to come after the mounts.

>/We come/, Half Tail replied at last. Only that, and then others answered, packs Perrin had spoken to and packs that had listened silently to the two-legs who could speak as the wolves did. /We come/. No more.

Can they cover 14 books in a realistic amount of seasons?
Can they avoid recasting actors?
Can they afford the CG for shadowspawn and power use?
How hard are they gonna butcher Telaranriod?
Will they cut Faile getting kidnapped by the Shaido?
Will feminists and SJW get baited into thinking the Aes Sedai are empowering female characters?
Will they cast a redhead as Rand?
Will they cast manlets as Ituralde and Bashere?
Is every Forsaken gonna make the cut?
Are the spear maidens going to be Sand snek tier?
Are secondaries going to call out the first season as a Fellowship of the Ring ripoff?
Will they tone down graphic scenes such as and bubbles of evil sprouting insects out of your body?
Will they shoehorn in more sex and nudity to get higher ratings just like GoT?
How are they going to translate Perrin's powers to screen?
Will the Adam and compulsion trigger sjw?
Will the Adam and compulsion spawn porn?
How shitty will /WoT/ be?

>there won't be an entire episode in the box

>How shitty will /WoT/ be?

I just hope the White Walkers don't look too fake

I have a great big Taraboner right now.

Classic.

>Can they cover 14 books in a realistic amount of seasons?
>Can they avoid recasting actors?
This is getting canceled before season 4 if it even gets made
>Will they cut Faile getting kidnapped by the Shaido?
Perrin crushing his cucker's skull was pretty satisfying... but not worth the plot thread. Hope so
>Will feminists and SJW get baited into thinking the Aes Sedai are empowering female characters?
Nynaeve transforming from thundercunt to best character the instant she gets some dick is pretty hilarious

>it's a Rand hides his boner from Selene episode

>Can they afford the CG for shadowspawn and power use?

No. And they'll make the Trollocs look like Warcraft characters instead of the Cronenberg-esque nightmares they're supposed to be.

>Loial is just a man with long ears
>Trollocs are black people with animal helmets
>The scene never happens

Let the Dragon ride again on the winds of time.

>it's a "cover art doesn't match anything in the books" episode

Nynaeve was always awesome
she just gets better when Egwene stops accompanying her, and even better once she does not have babysit her royal bitch Elayne
she just stops having to babysit and starts kicking ass

>whiny old Aes Sedai opposing her getting the shawl: blaah blaah promise you never use balefire
>"Bitch, I ain't promising shit because I might need it when helping the saviour of the world against the Dark One. See ya on Shayol Ghul fuckers"

>it's a Siuan calms down after getting some dick episode

>sniffs
>tugs braid

Siuan X Moiraine

We might get some smoking hot jailbait for Faile

>that image
Really made me think.

...

I wish Ishmael would've helped Rand in the end instead of just being another mook that Rand beats with no trouble. Also
> Ishmael is the smartest person ever
> Doesn't know about callandors weakness and gets trapped

Asspull

They were pillow friends.

Brandon Sanderson was too busy tweeting and playing magic the gathering to bother actually reading the notes. This is fact

>It's a Berelain episode

Why didn't they just fly the Raken to Shayol Gul?

>it's a Moiraine again refuses to reveal her actual motives episode

Develop your hypothesis

Can they cover 14 books in a realistic amount of seasons?
>No, I don't know why they are even trying.
Can they avoid recasting actors?
>Part of what will kill the show is the need for a giant cast. Eventually you will get duds in some of the roles
Can they afford the CG for shadowspawn and power use?
>Most of the power in the first book was fire and for the next few it was explosions and air weaves. The real challenge will be the dreams.
How hard are they gonna butcher Telaranriod?
>Meh most of it takes place in Tear at the start.
Will they cut Faile getting kidnapped by the Shaido?
>Maybe not cut it, but shorten the damn thing.
Will feminists and SJW get baited into thinking the Aes Sedai are empowering female characters?
>The men are legit stronger.
Will they cast a redhead as Rand?
>The problem will be casting so many tall people. IF they ever get to the waste so many roles will need to be cast for those tall fuckers.
Will they cast manlets as Ituralde and Bashere?
>Most actors are fairly short so it'll work.
Is every Forsaken gonna make the cut?
>Yeah most are pretty important.
Are the spear maidens going to be Sand snek tier?
>They will be short women.
Are secondaries going to call out the first season as a Fellowship of the Ring ripoff?
>Too much action.
Will they tone down graphic scenes such as and bubbles of evil sprouting insects out of your body?
>Yes because of budget.
Will they shoehorn in more sex and nudity to get higher ratings just like GoT?
>The lady dreams rand has will be more graphic and Mat will always be having sex after he goes to the waste. Almost everyone else has sex so they will turn those into an actual scene.
How are they going to translate Perrin's powers to screen?
>Voices.
Will the Adam and compulsion trigger sjw?
>Adam no. Compulsion yes.
Will the Adam and compulsion spawn porn?
>Yes.
How shitty will /WoT/ be?
>Very.

>The Travels of Jain Farstrider
>Demandred in Shara
>The rise and fall of Arthur Hawkwing

Spin offs pls

> it's a cadsuane episode

enemy draghkar patrols and surface to air powered terangreal missile fire from dreadlords

> Doesn't know about callandors weakness and gets trapped
yeah that was kinda dumb
>I wish Ishmael would've helped Rand in the end
did you miss the part where he explains he wants oblivion/nothingness?

Also was Demandred literally Vegeta?

>Nynaeve you can't heal stilling
>Nynaeve you can't cleanse the taint

>Rand uses balefire
>Cads slaps him in the face

Based

Why is there this resurgence of fantasy novels getting adaptations when none of them have the appeal of GoT?

People don't watch it for elves and magic, and it excels because it has a varied cast in different setting so you're bound to be interested in SOME of the show even if you find the rest boring.

WoT is also absurdly bad after book 5 when it drags on to sin.

Gotta say, she did make a damn good turnaround after that deep dicking

>the sheer amount of young to middle age female actresses that is going to be needed to portray the ageless Aes Sedai
>on top of all the previously mentioned difficulties

Who the fuck thought bringing this to screen was feasible

>Question: Has it gotten any easier to dig through RJ’s very personalized and, in some ways, maddeningly genius organizational system?

>Brandon Sanderson: You’d actually have to ask that of Maria and Alan since they are the ones who dig through it. I gave up on that after about two months into the first book because I couldn't make heads or tails of it; I just started asking questions of them.

theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=894

>I was working on Towers of Midnight, and I sent an email to Maria saying, "I can't keep track of who is with Perrin. Do you have just a list somewhere?"... Maria comes back and says, "Well I just dug this out of the notes; I hadn't seen it before. Maybe this will help. It's a file called 'With Perrin'". I went, "Oh, good." And I opened it up...no, that's not what it is; it is the names of all the Two Rivers folk who haven't been named in the books yet. [laughter] ...who are traveling with Perrin, and often a little bit about each of them, and a list of several dozen names of people who haven't been named yet. That's the level of detail we're talking about with this, and it was a challenge; it was a challenge on all of us.

>Fortunately, we did have Maria and Alan ... and I would focus my writing, particularly in first draft, on just getting the emotional content of a scene down, right? Get the narrative flow down, make sure it's working, and I would try to get all the voices of the characters right, but I wouldn't worry as much about continuity. I would then send it to Maria, and she would send back this thing with all of these notes saying, "Oh Brandon. Oh Brandon, you can't do this." "Oh Brandon, you killed her." "Oh Brandon..." ... And then we would try and fix all of the problems caused by that, and that's kind of how it went.

>Nynaeve you cannot defeat Forsaken in 1v1 duel
>Nynaeve you cannot blast the Amyrlin in a close quarter ship cabinet
>Nynaeve you cannot unravel hidden compulsion
>Nynaeve you cannot heal taint from male channelers
>Nynaeve you just cannot walk into Shayol Ghul to save the world

honestly, she is is my favourite female characters, simply because she doesn't give jackshit about Aes Sedai politics, and instead of participating in some backroom intrigues actually gets shit done

and is pretty much the only one to call Rand out for being a lecher who wants to have threesome like the little whore he is

>Rand stop using this cheat code spell that guarantees the absolute and utter obliteration of our most powerful enemies!!!

Granted she didn't know about the respawn bullshit but even so fuck off Cadsuane where the fuck were you earlier.

I want more info on other Ages, portal stones, whether there was space travel in AoL (lanfear hints at it in great hunt I think), what they thought about our age, and so on

IM STILL SO FUCKING MAD THIS FUCKING ASSHOLE KILLED BELA

>it's a talented wilder with a utility belt episode

I'm still mad a mormon nerd was tapped to finish a war hero's magnum opus

>it's a Perrin mutilates Shaido prisoners because he misses his teenage waifu who is meanwhile getting some big Aiel cock - episode

Best line in the story

Perrin threatening the Aiel and then throwing away his axe could be amazing television. I hope it's good if this happens.

"Kneel and swear to the Lord Dragon, or you will be knelt."

>Mat's rant on women during On A Broken Road

>it's a Rand cannot decide with whom to sleep with episode

>Tfw Verin makes Snape look like a bitch

>it's a teenage aged Egwene saves the day again because the actual adults get nothing done episode

Outriggers pls

Hang all Blacks starting with Verin. Compromising bitch.

is this show actually gonna happen?

>tfw Sheriam will never call you into the Mistress of Novices quarters and spank you

hot tall redhead Saldaean and absolutely devilish

it's a shame she didn't get more spotlight

>It's another Shaido season

considering how shitty Murican tv scripts are, WoT is already in the better ends by simply existing
I mean, how bad can they mess it up...?

>Can they cover 14 books in a realistic amount of seasons?

Considering the books are 10% content, 90% filler It should be easy.

How did My Spider-Man is Black only get two replies despite being the first post ITT?

>it's another butchering the Shaidos and giving insane people PTSD until they finally snap episode

>Aiel look like Ninjas in Pyjamas
>Ashaman look copy pasted
>no Aiel literally bursting into fountains of flesh and blood

0/10 see me after class

>It's an Asmodean murder mystery episode

>it's a girls yell at rand episode

what are you going to do?
spank me like a Mistress of Novices until I finally get a spanking fetish?`

completely forgot about that. Who the fuck killed him?

I found out and I've forgotten again now. It was a female forsaken.

>(You)? No!

Graendal by smothering him with her large bosom
she finished a lot of other Forsaken with her lewd plotlines

>Its a Graendals harem of attractive, important people episode

All my teenage boners

but why? It's never brought up again. Rand wonders a grand total of one time where the fuck Asmodean went then he's completely forgotten.

>it's an Aran'gar and all of Graendal's toys get balefired at Natrin's Barrow and her proxy Complusion gets unraveled implicating her death while she escapes unharmed episode

Graendal killed him, I just remembered.

Asmodean's role in the story was finished, he had taught Rand a bit. It's not like they were short of Forsaken.

Graendal, who was semi-allied with Rahvin, Lanfear and Sammael possibly came to scout Caemlyn to figure out what happened to Rahvin
she probably accidentally bumped into Asmodean, who recognized her, and she and other Forsaken had accepted at this point that Asmo had switched sides. So boom, balefire to the traitor.
Either that, or she was actually sent to kill Asmo, because Dark Ones plans did not involve giving Rand a male Sedai teacher.

They could afford to cut Osan'gar and Aran'gar imo.

>Its a Graendal is actually one of the most competent Forsaken episode

>literal Rule 63
>Dude turns into a turboslut still into women
I would be beyond mad if they cut that

Halimas big bosom?
the most interesting plotline of the whole rebel Sedai camp and you want to cut it out?
pls no

Dashiva meanwhile is the most interesting Ashaman in Rands entourage.
>watch a 3000 year old mad biochemist who designed trollocs pretend to be a stupid farmer from nowhere in the company of the Dragon

I've said it before in random threads, but I just have to say this. I'm about halfway through the Path of Daggers on my reread, and reading Dashiva's parts, knowing he's Aginor, the Mad Scientist, is just so satisfying.

To be completely honest, Dashiva/Aginor may be one of my favorite characters in the series on my reread. In almost every single scene he makes an appearance in, his actions and reactions are completely and utterly hysterical. He treats all the Asha'man with contempt, he scoffs at random things that seem like a big deal, he walks around muttering to himself- it's hilarious! But, only because you know he's the third or fourth most powerful male channeler who ever lived.

I just passed the part where Rand mutters to himself about curing the Taint, and all of the Asha'man in the tent are staring hopefully at him, except Dashiva, who just looks "poleaxed," which is just a hilarious description in and of itself, but especially contextually. Literally every description of him I've come across has him doing something weird, and it fucking kills me for some reason, haha.

I just love that dynamic, and thinking about this 3,000 year old man, once one of the most powerful of his time, trying to fit in with a bunch of relative (to his experience) heathens. And, the fact that every once and a while something someone does with the power will still surprise him, and that he's so clearly a cooky dude to begin with. Brilliant writing, that's all I have to say.

why are you writing like that

It's just the way I naturally write.

I love Dashiva/Aginor and I will not stop writing in my natural style to appease the cucklords of Sup Forums/tv. I just won't.

I just love that dynamic and I won't stop.

yeah, it's quite funny when rereading

>tfw some 20 year old sheephearder announces he is going to save the world and heal the Taint and you just cannot control yourself from laughing and busting your cover

Plain and simple ?

Shit writing

>it's a Mat gets eyesurgery episode

>It's a Padan Fain gets lost in the shuffle of the final battle episode

keep on being you , i liked what you wrote and how you wrote it
