Are people just realizing now that Messi is kind of a lazy player? As great as he is he tends to lose heart fairly quick and stroll around with his hands on hips in situations like this. People always talk about how great he is in the midfield but obviously from the contract talks and his unhappiness with Gomes he doesn't want to be there, he probably wants nothing more but to be a poacher, and I don't mean that as an insult, but he just wants Higuains job.

About the lazy part, I agree. Messi always walks around the pitch, no matter the game.

As for the second, he's the one that gave Suarez his position because he realized Suarez makes a better job out of it, he wasn't forced.

he's slowly turning into a luxury player, barcelona can't afford to keep him with their current squad, the other kids can't carry their weight to give him the room to do his thing

Ignoring youre bias of Suarez, Messi has played the "false nine" position for quite a while, before Suarez. Its being played deep which he doesn't like. Putting him in the traditional winger position would be fine too.

What bias? Messi is the one that changed his position with Suarez because he realized they play better that way. It wasn't Luis Enrique, it wasn't anyone else. Messi is the one that did it and it never changed back for a reason, because it works better.

I don't have bias for Suarez in Barcelona, he coild be in the bench or he could play in Chacaritas for all I care because he still wins stuff for Uruguay.

Right, but he didn't switch because he thought Suarez was better than him, he did it because Suarez was a centre while he could work on the wing as well

Suarez was better than him as a striker, anyone that thinks otherwise is retarded.

Messi broke and still has the record for most goals in La Liga season, overall season and year while as a striker

I dont know about him being lazy. Messi is the one with the burden of maintaining the midfield as the playmaker while simultaneously scoring goals in the final third. There's only so much you can do. On top of that his legs are not what they used ro be due to being worn down by his turbo heroball dribbles in his younger years which placed heavy mileage on his legs. Im not excusing his bad form yesterday since he really was bad and out of form but I think that has more to do with the shockingly poor form of the team getting to him. He was great so far for the first half of the season so I think it was just a one time nightmarish day than the signs of a decline.

>Are people just realizing now that Messi is kind of a lazy player?

and what would be the point of him running all across the field? Hes not a great defender and hes like 160cms, he wouldnt cover for shit. His job the last 10 years is sprint with the ball as fast as he can and score, and he has proven hundreds of times hes the best of the decade at it.

Messi is still a better finisher than Suarez or than almost any person in the world. The difference is now his age is making him slower so he cant dribble 4 players at once and score, and since Iniesta is old and Xavi is gone and the only barely decent midfielder Barca has signed has been Rakitic, he had to move from being a finisher to the midfield and let the scoring for Neymar and Suarez. Shit, Messi has the same amount of goals as Suarez yet doing twice the job than him. Dont get wrong, Suarez is a beast, but Messi is just above anyone. The problem is he cant solve all the problems like he used to because the awful design of the team and his age.

>Suarez was better than him as a striker
Not necessary. Is just the best thing for the team. Maybe Messi would score more, but where would you put Suarez?

Kicking every penalty and freekick, if Suarez had all penalties and freekicks last year he would've scored just as much, just check the numbers if you want.

Besides that was 1 year.

> Shit, Messi has the same amount of goals as Suarez yet doing twice the job than him.
Is he? Suarez has more assists than Messi.

But you're assuming he would Score those penalties and free kicks which is impossible to know. Suarez is the best striker if the world right now but we can't know how good Messi would be if they decided to switch positions

>severely autistic
>just noticing his autistic behavior

Kiwi pls

He always scored freekicks no reason to think he would miss every single one of them when Uefalona gets like 10 a game and are you seriously saying that he would've missed the 20+ penalties Barcelona had last year?

Messi's best number is 61 games 75 goals that season
Suarez last season had 53 games and 59 goals.

To me it's very clear that if he had penalties and freekicks he would've scored just as much.

When you are the greatest player in the world it has to be hard to motivate yourself

is funny how Messi is much more motivated at Argentina than Barca, yet he plays much worse there.

>Are people just realizing now that Messi is kind of a lazy player?
Pechito, pecho frio, freezer, gallineta, porteƱita.

I don't think Argentinians would mind if he motivated himself to win a single title for them. Then again i'm not Argentinian so no idea, maybe they enjoy never winning shit.

Probably the pressure and overthinking. Hes desperate to make Argebtina champions of something and people throw everything on his shoulders (like when the WC final was dubbed "best team vs best player")

He is starting to remind me of Stephanie Curry desu. A bit one dimensional/specialist, but so good at that one dimension that people confuse it for being the GOAT

Both are great at running up stats in blowouts against inferior opposition, but tend to hit a brick wall against certain opponents that take away their strengths (LeBron/Cavaliers, Chelsea from 05-12, Argentina NT)

Messi's a much better player, obviously, but more playstyle than impact desu

Kind of retarded. Messi has does fine against big teams. 4 Goals against Arsenal in 1 game, record for most goals in Clasico, only 2 goals behind the older Ronaldo in most CL Goals. This was just a bad game by the whole team and when every other player breaks down you can't expect Messi, Suarez or Neymar to get goals

True, every player has bad games, but the presumed GOATs aren't suppose to look as hapless as he does in these bad games desu

For example, Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo, etc. can easily beat a team like Chile at least once in two tries and score at least once in open play against Chelsea

Guys like MJ in basketball would at least go down swinging even when his team is overmatched(63 point game against the Celtics)

It's a team game and it's not completely his fault. But, it's also not NOT his fault either, if you catch my drift

It's what happens when you're coddled all your life. Terrible leader

Argentina has defeated Chile, they did it last Copa in the group stage and plenty of times before. Even against PSG this is the first time they've defeated Barcelona in years; every other time they get crushed, sometimes these things just happen. As for Basketball and MJ that's an incredibly individualistic sport compared to Football and much easier to Heroball

When you are the most naturally gifted player of all time that has broken every record and won everything you possibly can win, you can afford to be lazy ya herd?

ITT retards who don't understand fitness

Fucking glad you'll all die prematurely of heart failure desu

Messi has been walking around even in the biggest games for the last 4 years.

It's kinda embarassing, senpai. Even 2 years older Ronaldo with bum knees gets himself to run when the game gets big enough.

>die of heart failure

but Messi is the one who did steroids

HGH is not a steroid technically

He looks ready to retire. He knows Barcelona are getting worse each year, not better, and to maintain his previous levels of achievement, he would need to put in more and more effort, physically and mentally. I reckon he will quit football before the next World Cup.

>before
Probably at. He'll do it like Zidane and make it to the final but chimp out and cost his team

It seems like he's checked out Barcelona and maybe the game itself. Where else could he go?

Take a year off and play baseball.

>2017
>Rating Messi

>has literally one bad game after riding his dick for months
>he's ready to retire
