Is there a more divisive album than The Suburbs?

Funeral and Neon Bible are universally admired but it seems like The Suburbs is where Arcade Fire fans split, either believing it to be trash or believing it to be their true peak.

Reflektor is the divisive af album

Everyone knows that album is 95% filler 5% Afterlife

But Title Track and Supersymmetry are the ebst

That was my case. I jumped ship when The Suburbs was released.

I think The Suburbs is where AF's Discography took a dip in quality, but the album itself isn't terrible, just has quite a few filler songs and isn't as good as Neon Bible or Funeral.

Neon Bible is not universally admired, has nowhere near the level of admiration that Funeral has.

arcade fire is garbage. definition of boring white ppl music

Its largely divisive because it is the album where they virtually broke into the mainstream and won a Grammy, and as we know artists that are well-known can produce the greatest material on the planet yet still be bogged down unfairly for the most trivial reasons, just look at the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Bjork (just so you can't accuse me of being a dad-rocker).

I like The Suburbs more than Funeral

I only like Funeral and Reflektor. The rest of their albums bore me to death

I agree with you dude. Personally I think AF are a fantastic band and Suburbs is my second favourite of theirs after Funeral. But since that Grammy win they've become the face of "hipster" music. Which is really unfair to the band since they write dancey disco inspired stuff more than the washed out lifeless pop of a band like The 1975. So now they get hate from the mainstream, because they're "too hipster" and hate from the underground from being "too mainstream". But they still have a really passionate fanbase and I quite like their new one so they aren't doing terribly.

Imagine Dragons for Wes Anderson fans. Dishonest musicmaking. Ersatz shit.

is this a christgau review

>neighborhood #1
>boring
lol

The Suburbs is their best imo

Anybody seen them live? Bought tickets last night

Saw them live 6 years ago, it was really good

I think maybe that anons who can't relate to the sickly nostalgia that permeates the suburbs don't like it. Even thinking about some of the songs gives me a shiver because of how much they/the subject matter mean to me.
>he didn't play the album on repeat in his car on the last day of high school
>he didn't drive around until he had to pull over because the tears made it too hard to drive

Porno is the best track on Reflektor by far, and the entire second half of the album from Awful Sound to Supersymmetry is the best solid stretch of music that Arcade Fire ever recorded.

Arcade Fire's talent

>We know it's gone
>But where did it go?

I had no idea that people thought badly of this album. It's obviously their best. Funeral is great, though, too.

Neon Bible is fucking junk.

Funeral > Neon Bible > Reflektor > The Suburbs > Everything Now

go back to yr kpop containment threads you stupid weeb faggot
