Where have all the good electronic new releases gone?

It's been two years since pic related and most electronic albums released after it have been mostly boring lo-fi bleeps and bloops. this is probably the most recent electronic thing I can think of with any substance, prove me wrong.

KEKING HARD. Listen to more music, negro

Okay, post a better album than In Colour that has come out in the last 2 years then

a moon shaped pool

I forgot "Electronic"

pic related is not even good, best electronic album that has been released in the past 5 years is a compilation of rarities of mu-ziq in the 90's

take your pleb glasses off
youtube.com/watch?v=6MnoAEPNvHk

with pic related i meant your image, not mine

*gets popcorn*

>In Colour
>good

shiggy diggy

PFHAHAHAHAHAHA

This is funny because OP knows it's a shit record and wants us to insult him so he can epicly troll us

Japan Blues - Sells His Record Collection
Prince of Denmark - 8
Pacific Coliseum - Ocean City LP

Also, you should kys

Define ''electronic''.

I like it

>h-ziq
boring bleeps and bloops.

listened to this when it came out, it's all style.

I'll check these out, thanks.

...

>boring bleeps and bloops.
So why are you listening to electronic music if you don't actually like it?

...

Not sure why, but I unironically enjoy this a lot more than In Colour.

Oh yeah, I forgot Radiohead was a black metal band.

...

If you don't like Prince of Denmark for its minimalism, try his alias DJ Metatron's 2 the Sky EP. Much more accessible but still puritanical in its approach to techno.

youtube.com/watch?v=714uC1jtp2A

because I'm sick of the obsession with acid basslines, analog synth arps , 808s and amen breaks. it's all the same things again and again and again.

fair enough if you're a fan, but in my opinion it doesn't really have any substance. that kind of electronic seems to be more of a nostalgia thing that isn't very fun - and trust me, there is electronic that isn't like this. there are so many more sounds that you could explore.

albums suck, they only have 1 or 2 good songs

look up music and you'll find some good ones.

>boring bleeps and bloops
Do you even like electronic music at all?

...

>having a synthesizer in a full piece band means you're 'electronic'

Infected Mushroom - Converting Vegetarians II is unironically really good

>electronic
>albums
YEEHAAAAW

2015 Oneohtrix Point Never - Garden of Delete
2015 Tame Impala - Currents

2016 Tim Hecker - Love Streams

2017 Blanck Mass - World Eater

discogs.com/search/?sort=want,desc&format_exact=Album&genre_exact=Electronic&type=release&decade=2010&year=2016

>OPN
>Hecker
fuck how did I forget these came out. OP if you don't like these you should just delete all your music.

This except Tame Impala, Radiohead(it's not truly electronic) and Blanck Mass

stop calling tim hecker hecker
hecker is hecker

>i only listen to pitchfork approved "electronic"
pathetic

Tim Hecker's last good album was Ravedeath 1972. OPN's last good album was R+7. Those were both before 2015.

i listen to good music only. i even don't check pitchfork shitty ranks

what electronic music isn't nostalgic in some way
you could say that about anything
like if i posted some brand new computer music you could just say something like 'oh it's just musique concrete' or something, without having to bother about any specifics, just kind of hand wave the whole thing

not gonna lie 16-17 have been pretty lame so far compared to 13-15 in terms of electronic music. new shpongle is soon though maybe that'll be good

garden of delete is more enjoyable than r+7
r+7 is more artistic than garden of delete

love streams are not bad

wait till you get started on the new Burial... it sounds good guys

>look at me, I have shit taste

Virgins is a good album

...

even Ratatat - Magnifique is better than In Colour

House
Techno
Trance
Breaks
UKGarage
IDM
Downtempo
Ambient
Chillwave
Vaporwave
Hip hop
Synthpop
Industrial
Onkyo
EAI
Experimental
Academic

something like Kid A

So a Warp Records ripoff with an annoying Brit whining over the top?

Tried to listen to this yesterday. It just sounded so fucking flat the whole way through, nothing interesting at all. I didn't actually finish it but got about 60% through.

use headphones

I did. Relatively decent ones.

Anyway I'll probably give it another listen soon but I wasn't buying it first time round.

Does this count?

Unknown Pleasures 2?

Electric Boogaloo

from your posts it sounds like you really don't enjoy music at all

>enjoying music

Floating Points : Reflections - Mojave Desert

In Colour is Urban Outfitters music

in colour is trash lmao

Garden of Delete

what an appropriately titles album
>*deletes*

Yes yes yes

bump

literally thousands of albums to choose from and you chose Radiohead

electronic music has been dead since 2005, anyone who says otherwise is a fucking retard and should not be trusted.

edgekid2001bornfaggot.

nthng - it never ends

I will never fathom how you can all treat ''electronic music'' as this simple similar genre with a handful of good albums but dissect rock into 50 sub, subgenres with more in each than all of this elusive ''electronic music'' no one can even define.

unironically this. If you're listening to dance music ALBUMS, you're not doing it right.

electronic music = dance music

Yo this album has got me rock hard, check it out.

Hot Sugar's first album is up the same alley

I'm And I really dig these:
and am gonna check out:

jesus christ

you mean since 2007

that album sucked ass. their ep before it is still their peak

when you're contrarian and proud.

youtube.com/watch?v=rZgfrDMQFas

its true and you know it

Planisphere is an amazong EP no denying that but
>[cross] sucked ass
tho

was memeing tbqh

same. also hiphop being included makes me think it's straight autism

allow me to explain it to you.

rock subgenres tend to be a lot more popular, whereas electronic subgenres tend to be confined to their own scenes and niches which die off a lot more quickly. hence it's easier to just refer to a timeless micro-house album as 'electronic' when micro-house itself isn't irrelevant anymore. also, albums like the OP pic span many subgenres - why call In Colour one of the best 'tropical-house-garage-indie-ambient' albums of 2015 when you can just call it by the umbrella term?

furthermore, there is a definition of "electronic music". it's music that primarily emphasises synthesized sound.

U should listen to more electronic music bc u sound clueless
Also idk whose definition of electronic music that is but.. Lmao

>u
>bc
>clueless
let me guess, you only come to this board for bleep and think electronic music is defined by whether the producer wears a tracksuit and has a sick fade

see

Nice retort

u realize how nondescript those genre definitions are, right?

"electronic music" is a stupid label

they're far more 'descript' than the definition of rock music.

It's not though

BassNectar just released a decent album.

Or learn to like Synthwave because there are several new releases every month.

Art Angels

Lmao I listened to bassnectar my freshman year are u being serious

I listened to Radiohead my freshman year what's your point?

loved this but if you hate lo fi then you'll probably view this as more of the same

My point is that Bassnectar (brostep in general really) is for young teenagers

I don't hate lo-fi per se, I love guys like Shlohmo

it's just artists like Tobacco / AceMo / Samiyam that enrage me, thinking they can get away with just churning out stuff that's all vinyl crackle and no substance

I'll check out your pic

>"hip hop"
