Two former Premier League stalwarts who look to be exiting the Championship in wildly different directions meet tonight: Newcastle under Rafa Benitez will regain top spot with a win against Steve Bruce's hapless Villa side, who look to be taking the Nottingham Forest route of "from former European champions to ending up in the third tier".
Kick-off at 8:00pm UK time with coverage now on Sky Sports 1.
Pretty this thread is all Huddersfield fans hoping for Villa to nick a point.
Kayden Howard
I'm already tired of this season
Just make it quick Newcastle, I'm sick of football
Brody Sullivan
Fuck off your fair weather wanker
Kevin Peterson
desu i think we should get McLeish back he did well
Nolan Myers
top manager at this level tbf
Jose Powell
I think we should stop sacking managers all the time and actually build a team
Ayden Reyes
People always say that, at every club, but you can't actually do it until you get lucky and sign a manager who doesn't deserve the sack desu.
Jonathan Bailey
Newcastle really struggling here with their threadbare squad.
Nathaniel Rivera
Notts County came first la
Alexander Williams
In truth, next season when Bruce has his own squad I think he'll get Villa promoted.
Benjamin Allen
I've only seen a couple of Villa games this season, but this is the pattern right, good start which they fail to capitalise on and then a second half collapse?
I feel bad for County, they're one of those clubs you assume had a period of winning titles back in the day but actually they've only got one FA cup to their name.
Jonathan Lee
>tfw you remember when they got that takeover and were going to be the City of the lower leagues >tfw you were genuinely pleased for them >tfw they were just being used in some giant scam
It was like that cool grill who isn't blessed with looks and just wants a nice bf, and finally gets one. But then it turns out he was just going out with her for a bet.
Anthony Hughes
...
Nolan Foster
>Grealish What went wrong?
Caleb Jones
Too much hype.
Cameron Johnson
nitrous oxide
Justin Ortiz
Wow, Villa almost managed a brisk jog for that break.
Juan Sanders
Will colback switch back to sunlun when the two switch positions
He should stay in the champs at least
Elijah Morales
will colback ever post on Sup Forums again?
Jackson Young
Do you have some kind of link to this or is it just a meme?
Cameron Evans
i dont know how far the archives go back but this was at least 3-4 years ago i think
Kayden Miller
Fuck. Some boards had their archives totally purged last year, I'm not sure if Sup Forums was one of them or not though.
Colton King
I'm pretty sure it did happen, but I dunno, Sup Forums warps my memory desu.
Parker Ortiz
has the turtle shagging that lads shoe in the garden been purged from Sup Forums?
William Brown
>when you only find one bad quality working stream
at least I finally get to see the newcastle game
Ian Martinez
I guess the skinhead is back to playing
Aiden Edwards
>tfw watching on sky go in high quality
Justin Walker
Best I can find is some American from 2013 mentioning Colback posting, but nothing concrete ;_;
It wasn't so much a purge as it was some terms being more or less unsearchable and a shitload of images being pulled.
Jeremiah Baker
Now that is something I remember clearly.
Maybe it was just a meme after all desu.
Gabriel Kelly
>gayle ded again JUST
Angel Thompson
>tfw I could easily afford Sky but I won't pay for it because I'm too tight
I can't find a good stream either.
Adrian Gray
No I found a better one. this is fucking great quality.
fack off lad im going to brag about being able to see it in high quality, if we get back up to the pl youll be able to watch all the games in hd because le 3pm rule
Nathaniel Myers
>tfw you got SS for free because you're a good customer >tfw it runs out next week
I've enjoyed it while I had it, but I would never pay for it again. If they did that season ticket thing from 2001 or 2002 or whatever I probably would though. Just get Virgin, it should be cheaper.
Logan Ramirez
I don't have any TV subscription because I only watch football and I'm not paying for all the other shit too.
I have found a stream now anyway.
Brandon Turner
I cant fucking wait to get every game on nbc streaming and recording the games on tv over here
Luis Morgan
>not acestreaming in 4K on a 7.1 surround system Lmao at your lives
Leddit has some good streams atm
Juan Jones
Championship refs are fucking dire
Say what you want about clattenberg, but him fucking off to takbirland sets a bad precedent. Won't be any decent quality refs around soon enough
Benjamin Williams
I mean, I watch all my club's games in person, so I'm not missing out there.
Paying to watch as a neutral seems a bit much though.
Jace Richardson
DA GOOF DA GOOF DA GOOF IS ON FIRE
Cooper Howard
clattenburg is fucking shit as well, we just have shit refs because they are pretty much never punished and arent pushed into trying to do better jobs
Jacob Morales
wait you get weird as fuck college basketball games on live tv over their. also didnt realize you guys got bein sports but it shows american sports. weird the opposite of what it shows over here
>implying thats exactly where I got that stream from
Nicholas Fisher
>the state of villa
Anthony Campbell
I don't care about shit refs desu.
It's when they so obviously favour the big club or bow to a hostile home crowd that it's annoying.
If they're just incompetent then it doesn't make much difference over a season.
Oh fuck off Villa.
Carter Martin
>Newcastle look terrible >Get a corner, take it short >No will to defend it at all
Jordan Barnes
I think it's wrong that they never have to explain their, at times, shocking calls. That should definitely change.
Christopher Cook
oh wait I am watching the bein stream
YEAHHHHH GOUFFRAN
Oliver Wright
The thing is that there's never really going to be any accountability, refs are like the players, you can't sack them regardless of how shit they are.
Wyatt Perez
The state of refereeing is terrible in general. They aren't allowed to be criticised, but they feel under pressure from big decisions, arguably putting people off becoming refs with the public image of it. TV replays should help take the pressure off, the fewer incorrect decisions the happier everyone will be
Jonathan Ramirez
Anyone seen Ritchie?!
Jason Garcia
feel like yedlin could be a really good player for us if we get promoted desu
Xavier Torres
Hey Jude?
Carson Young
Kek I miss seagalposting on Sup Forums
James Bailey
That's true. It's a shame because, while we never had truly great refereeing, they were at least half decent about 15 years ago. Like says though, I hate watching a match where some dickhead ref shits himself to make calls against big teams. It's even worse when a player commits a bookable offence in the opening 5 minutes, but don't get booked because "the game has just started". Or worse, when they're already booked and then seem to have impunity from getting a second yellow regardless what they do.
Justin Long
I don't think it's that bad, it's just that we as people watching on TV get that benefit of seeing the replays from different angles.
I agree they should get help in the from of having someone watch replays and advise them, but I don't think you can really improve the standard too much without that.
Joshua Evans
who thought it was a good idea to have red letters on a dark blue background?
cant fucking see anything
Connor Green
God american adverts are so slimey. Americans don't actually buy into some of these scams do they ?
Brody Morris
best ads in the us are the ones where they advertise a pill or medicine and the list of potentially fatal side effects is longer than the rest of the ad, then its followed by an advert saying you can get compensation if youve taken the thing in the previous ad and had side effects
Jaxon Johnson
The thing is I hate it when the ref gives a decision based on the reaction from the crowd, but when I'm in the stand I do everything I can to try and influence the ref.
And it doesn't help that the players are all cheats and the fans are perfectly happy for their players to try and 'win' decisions.
I dunno, I prefer simulation to the days when the cheating went the other way with teams kicking people off the pitch without being punished, makes for a more entertaining game over all.
Anthony Garcia
Hoping for a Leeds/Wednesday play-off final
it would be MASSIVE
Isaac Carter
Ads during football on British TV: >Betting Site >Car >Betting Site >Just Eat >Betting Site >Betting Site >Betting Site
Adverts during football on American TV: >Ridiculous fast food >Insurance >Fantasy Football sites that totally aren't gambling >More fast food >Drugs >Ridiculous local car dealership ads
I'll take American ads
Evan Collins
Me too, with Huddersfield getting automatic.
Not that I'm getting deluded enough to expect that. Yet.
Joshua Robinson
wednesday fans are insufferable cunts. hope you stay in this league forever.
Nicholas Baker
You forgot the beer and payday loan adverts too.
Adverts are just shit generally desu.
Jace Hall
I dislike Wednesday fans even more than Leeds fans.
Robert Brooks
>I dunno, I prefer simulation to the days when the cheating went the other way with teams kicking people off the pitch without being punished, makes for a more entertaining game over all.
See I prefer the opposite. I don't want to see anyone get hurt or anything like that, but the constant stopping and starting is a complete annoyance. What I really hate about it is that, players will get in the box and rather than try to take the shot or make a difficult pass, that could possibly give possession away, they'll just flop to the ground looking for the penalty because the chances of them getting punished are incredibly slim.
Samuel Thompson
well this is a channel that no one watches so you are watching or shitty/cheapest commercials.
Adam Reyes
*our
Benjamin Carter
And this is exacerbated by players not getting penalties if they are fouled but don't hit the deck afterwards. The system currently rewards simulation, or at least exaggeration, so it makes perfect sense for players to do it
Michael Gonzalez
Met Police would have their work cut out for that one.
As a Wednesday fan, Leeds are the one team I'd hate to face as they're probably the strongest of the playoff teams for me. Reading and Huddersfield I'd fancy getting something against.
Dominic Adams
The more I watch us the more I think we're going to get absolutely battered >when we go up. Rafa needs to make some big signings in the summer.
Brayden Sanders
Often I think, when one of our players seems to me to have been legitimately fouled but doesn't get anything that the ref should just book him for simulation.
Because clearly one or the other has fucking happened. You just end with this situation where the ref is essentially indicating that he doesn't know what happened.
As a Huddersfield fan Leeds are the team I'd expect to beat, all the pressure would be on them. No way we'd beat you and Reading who knows what would happen.
Blake Collins
hit the nail on the head, an overhaul of what refs do is needed
Leo Barnes
nay. it was like a clubbish kinda song. it was a woman doing the nana bit
Daniel Scott
Yeah, it's gone too far in the other direction.
I don't want to see a return to skillful players being bullied off the ball constantly, but we're not at a reasonable middle ground right now.
Camden Turner
Gala, Freed From Desire?
Jeremiah Cox
MITRO'S ON FIRE
Owen Allen
I fucking hate Colback lads, he contributes nothing.
Hope >we get Delph in the summer.
Gavin Carter
>Delph
m8, Dean Whitehead made him looking like a fucking Sunday League player the other day.
Joseph Turner
my guy right here
Asher Smith
Does anyone rate Loftus-cheek? Honestly haven't seen enough of him to know if he's any good or not Whether he'd join >us is another thing
Tyler Cook
Kek
Blake Ross
Rafa would sort him out lad, he'd be a quick, chocolate, Gareth Barry.
Aaron Bennett
>be a cheating cunt in the forest match >score an own goal
kekaroo
feel sorry for the villa fans who had to deal with that lansburys karma
Thomas Watson
I remember an interview around the Jan transfer window where Rafa said they have been in touch with Champions League level players that they would be willing to come to Rafa but they are unwilling to drop down to 2nd tier.
The players we have been linked with whilst in the Championship is quite remarkable really. Ante Coric Youri Tielemans Filip Benkovic Joe Hart Ryad Boudebouz Hector Herrera Luc Castaignos Marcos Llorente
No reason why we couldn't continue to progress, assuming Rafa is allowed the money / doesn't leave.
Personally I don't buy that Ashley didn't give Rafa money, he publicly transfered 35M into the club, I just think it was a hard time to bring in someone who could actually be useful to us when we get promoted.
Parker Barnes
Fulhamesque defending for that corner.
Well, maybe. I have rated him in the past desu.
John Cook
>LANDSBURY
Ayden Smith
SHIT ARE THE VILLA SHIT ARE THE VILLA TONIGHT
Easton Rivera
Newcastle should try to buy Mooy from City.
He's never going to play for them and it's not like >we could afford him.
