My friends basically change their music taste every few months/year. The current fad is techno. I want to get into techno but I think it's pretty boring. I think I have a decent attention span, but I just drift after 3¬4 minutes of the first song. Are there actual good techno artists or this is just a meme genre? One of them told me that "you need to be drunk+high in a techno club to enjoy it", but this sounds really stupid - good music supposed to sound good even when you're sober IMO.
I really like Aphex Twin, which is the closest thing to the songs they like.
Honestly, despite being a big fan of technopop, I could never really get into techno itself.

I don't know anything about techno but I love this ebm industrial techno shit or whatever it's called
dance music only makes sense when you take drugs and dance to it, and then after that it's ok even when you're not high
Joshua Murphy
It's also great for exercising
Charles Taylor
