I haven't really used Unity. I installed Unity along with Unreal Engine 4 some years back and discovered I liked UE4 better. If I ever need to leverage a full engine (like my next project) I'm probably going to use UE4.
The game I'm working on doesn't require anything too complicated. No physics, skeletal modeling, networking, etc. It's not too much to handroll everything and position assets in code without a level editor.
Also there are libraries for everything so it's not like I'm a one man band. I use libraries for loading models and textures, getting a window context, I/O, filesystem access, object serialization, sound synthesis and output.
Meanwhile I have complete control over the graphics pipeline and my shaders, which is vital.

Part of the reason I liked UE4 is it uses C++ as the main programming languge. Part of the reason I don't like UE4 is because everyone uses blueprints and there's no tutorials for getting started with C++.
Ferrari 458 engine makes about 600hp with a 4.5L V8. naturally aspirated. Displacement aint everything
