The world population is growing rapidly, yet automation is killing all the jobs

The world population is growing rapidly, yet automation is killing all the jobs.

Does anyone else not see the problem?

Especially when the sweatshops close and third world outsourcing ends.

It's a issue. Guess we should just issue in socialism and start killing millions again.

go to school and get a degree if you can't afford then I guess you shouldn't vote republican

I am an engineer. My employment isn't a problem.

I'm just wondering if this exploding population boom will end up really messy
mid century.

There's always gonna be jobs. Maybe just not the ones you want.

The world population is growing because we send aid to Africa. If we stopped it they would collapse back to previous levels. Trying to artificially inflate the 1st world countries with 3rd world populace because "they aren't having babies" is fucking stupid. It's a natural progression of technology, the populace is having fewer children because the society NEEDS fewer children. All the mass importation of immigrants to these countries will do is make the transition to artificial intelligence and automation more difficult and everybody more poor

It absolutely is a problem. More people = increase consumption of resources, fuel, and energy. It's simple math. We don't have a problem with over reproduction in in first world countries; our birthrates have pretty well stabilized at a solid 2.2 (many European countries actually need to raise theirs a tad). The Third world, let's face it, brown people have no such restraint yet and continue to reproduce like fucking rodents. Until they can get with the times we cannot let them in in mass numbers. I love how the left portrays themselves as the champions of sound environmental policy and condemns the right, when they are no fucking better (perhaps even worse).

And even if automation creates jobs.
..do you think nigger somalians will be able to do them?

As long as certain groups of people are the growth engine, quantity wise, I don't see automation and technology advancing and killing jobs.

I've been wondering the same thing for years. Especially with the immigration policies in America.
"Hey, we know automation is less than a decade away from destroying almost all food service jobs, but why not important millions of illiterate, culturally backwards Mexicans to 'help' out our economy anyway?"

it's not just blue collar jobs being replaced you mong

The thing you aren't considering is population growth is going to decrease sharply as poorer countries, especially India, get better education and improved quality of life. Automation is going to allow us to produce more then we ever could before raising the quality of life everywhere, improving education, which, always leads to a decrease in population growth.

Think about it this way. If you have enough food to eat and a roof over your head, you don't need 10 children to work in the field to help support the family. You can also expect your children to live so you don't need more then 1 or 2.

Almost all jobs will eventually be replaced.

Society will collapse and we'll enter another dark age long before that happens.

No, I know about how the population will peak soon. Its not enough. One could say we are already overpopulated.

10 billion people in 2065 and most will be unemployable. UBI is not going to help. Nor will it stretch that far.

the fuck is that graph? no source, and no dips for the wars

see That's a nice idea for a book, if not a little trite right now, but not very realistic if you really study the problem, rather than give it a cursory glance and hypothesize. The only countries contributing to population growth are poorer countries with lower quality of life. That's a problem that fixes its self with time and automation is actually a solution rather than a problem.

Wars are not as violent as they used to be

That graph has no key, not even a date. You're also excluding the possibility of nuclear warfare or cyber warfare that destroys our current telecommunications systems and internet.

Okay it has a date in the image name, still don't know what 3+ is supposed to indicate unless that's millions or billions of people

You clearly have not studied overpopulation. An over-populated species does not continue to increase in size and improve quality of life. You have to disregard any local bubbles that you live in and look at the larger picture to understand the health of a species.

I used to have a job putting boxes on tables, till this asshole took my job.

>The world population is growing rapidly, yet automation is killing all the jobs.
>automation
At first, I thought you said ammunition.

We'll just come up with some other labor system. Jesus Christ. Why is it that people who don't like private property act like they're terrified of a future without private property.

I thought it was the growth rate. Zero being none. One being one more child for every set of parents etc.

It's almost like we will have to come up with some other system of economics other than greed.

Qol for third world people is improving but qol for regular Joe's in the first world arguably isn't.

Its what led to Trump's rise. American middle class is less well off.

The top 10 percent is though.

Have you MET people?

Seriously, this is the problem. Making other people's lives better almost always means making someone else's lives worse. That's just how nature and by extension society functions. Right now, the rich and the third world is profiting off the destruction of the middle class in first world countries.

That's fine but isn't an indication of overpopulation.

Niggers.

History says:
>area becomes rich and healthy
>people stay alive longer
>population after a couple of generations stop making 7 kids because 4 of them don't die in the first 20 years of their lives anymore

Niggers are used to live in mud huts and die of colera at 17 so they keep making 10 kids
World is getting darker and consequently dumber. See american media pushing the feminism and racism bullshit and european bringing in niggers non stop

Niggers are plague

But wouldn't the third world poors better off with even less people?

Qatar is among the richest countries....commodity wealth spreads better through smaller populations.

Gabon and Botswana have the highest gdp per capitas in Africa and they are sparsely populated.

Maybe we aren't truly overpopulated. But most of the world's problems would be easier to fix with less people.

This
Study history, all organized human civilization eventually collapses.

Those are sparsely populated countries with a few very rich people. I'm not arguing that we need more people, just that it's a problem that will fix itself.

Also poor countries need more people to support themselves. The people don't live as long and their methods of production are less efficient. This is the reason automation is actually the key to curving pop. growth.

That is the most absurd thing I have read in a while. Since the dark ages human society has steadily improved.

Since the last societal collapse, society hasn't collapsed?
Nice observation

The Romans were incredibly advanced for their time, nothing saying we can't go the same way they did.

There's a huge difference between now and then.

The dark age was a resistance to change. We live in a world that we actually understand now.

The Romans didn't understand anything outside of their boarders and often inside as well. The Wold is so different now. I find that a hard comparison to make.

Oh yeah, cause America is in a super great place right now, both internally and in regards to our foreign affairs
