Here's your (You)

OP is right though you anal astronaut

It's a prequel numnuts

Here's your (You)

...

Are you retarded?

...

the ending was shit, you contrarian faggot

Kill urself

Agreed.

Although I still like the original a lot. Even with the salad monster.

Can't beat the Carpenter version though. I plan on watching a bunch of his films this weekend with the missus.

I thought it was a sequel not a remake.

...

You people are retarded.

...

>calling one of the most loved movies of all time good
>contrarian
What the actual fuck are you on about?

Here's your (You)

not really a remake, but you know what I mean

I disagree on that one. I liked it alright, because Fincher is still a good director, but it was anot unnecessary film in my opinion.

The original is better because of the locations, actors involved, and it felt closer to book in spirit in my opinion.

Craig and Mara just weren't as good as Nyqvist and Rapace.

Jack Burton is the best main character from any movie ever. Prove me wrong

You can't.

...

>main character
Isn't he the sidekick?

youtu.be/bXxPsScXqLU

We busted your glass ceiling! There was a ghost behind it!

Ben-Hur (1959)

...

...

this movie was boring and wasnt even good. just a shit ton of nothing happening. i have no clue why Sup Forums has a boner for this movie

I know it's all subjective, but with certain films I want to go to war with bottles and chains concerning opinions like yours.

>The Thing
>boring

I understand how a hypetrain might give you unreachable expectations, but only a child with the most severe case of ADD would ever call this fucking movie boring

B

end your life my man

why can't they make such quality cartoons like that today? Just all those badly drawn shit since ~1998 (Cow and chicken, ren&stimpy)

I love Ren and Stimpy, not gonna lie, but yeah, Looney Tunes were in a class of their own.

I'm going through the Platinum and Golden collections the missus bought me, and they're still fucking great.

The animation, the voice work, the music. Top notch.

the only word tv has in defense of this shit movie is "comfy." its boring nothing happens and theres no satisfying payoff. just a bunch of fags circle jerking

Great camera work, sense of isolation, score, tension, acting, and an ending that's still talked about decades later.

Yeah, you're right, it's just "comfy".

My nigga, came here to post it

no, i guess but ive seen it done better, no, there is no tension nothing happens, acting is painful, ending isnt memorable at all. just tv overhyping a shit movie

Opinions.

You're an idiot.

isnt that all movie critique is

...

Yes, that's why I posted that. I covered that a while ago when I said it's all subjective.

Ben Hur.

>implying this movie is a remake

Let's be real here. Nobody even knows that this movie was a remake of the original. The original is so obsolete it has been completely forgotten. It's way too old.

Ok. Well I guess I'll just call you a faggot then. You're a faggot

you're dumb

nice try

That'll do it.

It doesn't matter how many (You)s you give me, it won't make it any less true.

...

low quality bait

I can only think of this and The Thing.
I wish more of these type of movies were made today.

1930-50s Sci-Fi stories confirmed best material.

Fly original is still great, I sort of love it equally to the remake.

Oh man, that blob remake was fucking horrifying

It was practically a damn slasher villain

Fuck off from here please, The Thing has no tension? It's literally one of the most suspensful movies ever.

This, but that isn't saying much. Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness are still infinitely superior.

the original Hills Have Eyes is a terrible movie, Aja's remake is fucking brutal and so much better, I cant believe this even was a studio movie. It's the "Carpenter's The Thing/Cronenberg's Fly" of our time, aka in 20 years when people look back on the best remakes of this era everybody will point to this, it's so fucking good

That nigga looks stoned

Remaking 50's movies isn't the same as remaking 80's movies.

It's like they went out of their way to make the deadites as unscary as possible.

Why does she seem only mildly annoyed in that poster?

Wes Craven never made a good movie, when he died everybody was like "Craven was a master of horror" lol what niggas he wasn't near the level of his peers

Dude, Scream 1 and 2 were so awesome they resurrected an entire genre, shut the fuck up

Sure, if you're a tasteless manchild.

...

You are a fucking retard if you actually believe this

:^)

One of the "things" that made The Thing remake so good was the all Male cast

Any other remake will add a Female for diversity & it will take a hit in quality
and exactly that happened in the 2011 version

(You)

>Scream 1 and 2 were so awesome they resurrected an entire genre
Scream 1 was great, others pale in comparison.

>Film about a Norwegian Antarctic research base
>The main character is an American woman

I love MEW but come on.

Yeah no

I think it mostly just has to do with the difference in budget but like the other user said Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness are still the superior of the series.

Take your meme where it belongs, in the trash. The original one is and always will be better than 2 and Army.

Second one was ok, but Army was terrible.

I love Wes, but Scream was basically a non-parody version of Student Bodies, down to the oppening, the two killers, the main character, etc.

It was great and resurrected the slasher genre from straight-to-video hell, but it wasn't original, just really well done. Some slashers made in the years before were better and had the same meta aspect, but they didn't have the backing of someone like Wes to become mainstream.

Can you name 'em? I want to check 'em out.

It wasn't bad. The last act felt a little too tonally different and the 'bad guy' was so generic it made me cringe, but the first 3/4 of the movie were great.

Dead Mary was a better Evil Dead 'remake' though.

I saw the original one a year ago and it feels like it was slapped together for a class project. What redeeming qualities does it have for someone who doesn't enjoy camp or watch movies ironically?

It's a fun b horror movie, Evil Dead 2 felt really uninspired and Army was one of the most boring movies I've seen. It wasn't even funny, but hey, that's just my two cents.

>still
Good you're trying, but you're still plebus

What in God's name are you talking about?

You imply that because it's old, it might have lost so of it's artistic value.

No that poster btw, but I'm guessing that's his reasonning.

Sure, I guess so.

Regardless, my point was I rediscovered the series and I personally STILL love it.

Are (you) even trying?

Please tell us which film you think is tense?
I'm genuinely interested.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF WHAT DID YOU FUCKING CALL ME ?

A FAGGOT?

DO YOU FUCKING KN OW WHAT FAGGOT EVEN MEANS? IT MEANS A HOMOSEXUAL. A FUCKING QUEER. A WHOOPSY. A PRANCING LALA FRUITY BOY. YOU COME HERE, AND CALL ME FUCKING THAT? It was a new adaptation, pedants can preemptively go fuck themselves.

never seen this, should I check it out tonight?

watch the blob asap

I literally fell asleep in the last half, turns out I missed absolutely nothing of interest.

The original has its own charm, I think both are great.

Fucking great movie. Original is alright for its time but can't hold a candle to the Cronenberg one.

It's not a remake, it's another adaptation of the book Who Goes There. The 1951 The Thing From Another World has jack shit to do with the book other than ''alien attacks scientists'', the thing itself is just a big, hulking vegetable guy, there's no assimilation or anything.

>uninspired
But Evil Dead 2 is 1 with 10 times the imagination and less class-project-tier design.

Nightmare 1 and New Nightmare are great.

Bro, pic related is my current wallpaper

>Wes Craven never made a good movie
Kill yourself, tb.h

In his peaks, Craven made one of the best films in the genre in the '80s and again in the '90s

Invasion of the Body Snatchers with Donald Sutherland.
Both versions are good, but this is at least a contender for remake that's better than original.

>that Bruce Campell "cameo"
