clyp.bandcamp.com/album/kyds-at-the-crypt what can you say about CLYP...the most gimmick laced band in southern Ohio, we want to make it big, we want to fill stadiums. we are dreamers, but in the meantime this is all we have, your listens on our stats, your reccs in the thread, those are the building blocks of an empire. get on board before its too late. We're expected to hit 5000 hits this month alone

I usually do progressive rock and experimental stuff, I decided to try out surf music.

Really good stuff

revisited this today and love this even more.
your vocal sounds great and blends nicely with music nicel. it would be nice to hear some acoustic track on your nxt release. keep it up.
pxl sequence

i hear a lot of pink floyd influence in here, which i like. nice strong compositions and melodies.
production is solid and mixing on point.
nice work

>Ethereal Triphopish

custardsquare.bandcamp.com/track/lost-in-transients

I kind of like the atmosphere and the track's presentation but it really lacks "something" which would make it engaging enough or interesting enough to dig into this thing fully, to immerse yourself into that kind of sound and structure. I think that beats should have a bigger punch to them or there should be a nice melodic line which makes this thing go "forward". I'm also kind of "eh" about the cover.

really enjoyed this. beautiful evolving pads, love the beat as well that supports the etheral atmosphere.
i thing nice analogue bass line would add nicely.

>musique concrete
>sound collage

Recs:

You've got some good stuff right here. I would recommend using stereo panning in your tracks, since I feel that sound collages and overall musique concrete generally sound better and it fits the style. That is, unless you're going for a Brian Wilson-type thing where you intentionally mix your music in mono because you prefer the sound, in which case keep doing that if it's what you like.

thorkissingmusic.bandcamp.com/album/bonte-avond-live-in-lopik

I'm Thor, 18 years old, from Holland and I make music in a wide variety of genres.
Just released this live EP, containing some songs from my previous two albums which I played live for a small group of people.

I really like the avant-garde sounds of And you're all doing really well making music!

I really enjoy your Eastridge EP! Listening to it right now, love the lofi sound of it.

It's. Not. Experimental.

Can you kids actually learn what this word implies before associating it to the shit thousands upon thousands of people are making daily on Soundcloud?

Thank you so much! Recorded that with a good friend of mine from pre school

did you listen to it? not a huge fan of what i heard, but it sure goes beyond traditional ''lofi'' tropes.

>implying it's not you
It doesn't. Hop on the SC threads and get some random links. I'm sure two, three peeps having the same sound, no shit.

i guess i have no way to prove i'm not him, i still stand by my opinion tho.

i'd recommend this dude. has a lot of interesting stuff.

Twisted pop
I really enjoyed this for some reason, but I have to add that I'm drunk right now

it's not me. from what i've heard in the lofi community i'd say some of the other stuff isn't really lofi, but it's not really traditional hip hop either. what you classify it as?

Nice hip-hop production, I like it
But the other user is right, this has nothing to do with experimental, and it's not lo-fi either (which isn't even a genre but an attribute)
Just call it instrumental hip-hop

okay thanks for the feedback. I'll change the description. what would you consider experimental hip hop? can you recommend me some established producers? my request may be too off topic for this thread.

mcraigculbertson.bandcamp.com/album/han-salo-shuffle-or-whatever

>concept album
>plunderphonics
>album is designed to be listened to on shuffle

Death Grips do experiment
That's about it

>album cover is a collage or random south park pics and the naked baby from nevermind
>120 tracks with average half minute length
>no lyrics, tracks are random wankery that are worse in quality than what you hear on "Sup Forums makes an album" compilations
>each title is a letter that form a nonsense sentence:
"the first thing you need to know about this world is the lounge act of seeing with your OWN eyes all we are saying is all in all is all is 100 years away"
>>>''''''''''''concept album''''''''''''

I know I'm rude, but dude what the hell is this supposed to be? Is "dadaism" your only excuse?

i don't think you listened to the album

on one thing there are lyrics all over the album. some are spoken words from computer generated voices, some are my voice, some are Kanye West interviews, and a great deal of them are sampled from the Adam Sandler film 'That's My Boy'

As far as the compositions being 'random wankery' maybe you just aren't hearing the structures or detail because it's not familiar to you. I can assure you absolutely nothing on the album was put there randomly.

I'd be interested to hear other people's opinions on the music in question.

this is fun

Fun fact - I made an album with a similar concept only more ambient few years ago. It is a lot of fun when it is designed well enough and the concept is forced upon the listener. Sadly BC doesn't allow endless shuffle. A very lacking feature...
Also Gub's critique over the lack of lyrics is in the fact, probably, that there are no available lyrics from the BC page i.e. you can't read what lyrics you put on the each track. I won't give it a listen right now so I can't say much else. Let's just say that this cover and the whole page design (not very visible text) made me very skeptical towards the quality of this release.

your album is bad dude. quit getting offended when it's obvious so little effort was put into it.
