Desktop thread, faggots

No cleaning up

bumping with porn webms

last bump if nobodies interested

fucken saved

sauce?

desktop first faggots

...

aaaand I'm letting the thread die now.

...

...

Holy shit that took more time than expected to resize this nigger...

I hate leaving shit on my desktop, and the wallpaper is set to slideshow.

her name?

You should try my taskbar setup user, it really improves efficiency

sauce is Sup Forums on all the webms user

try reverse image search

also just save as a jpg next time kek

My left monitor is a tiny 15". Usually media player or youtube/twitch playing on that one. And my mouse is dying and doing that whole double click/can't click and hold bullshit, so the bottom/top approach stops mistakes from happening.

onedrive pulls this shit every time I have to reformat or some shit. SSD died two months ago, and I'm still putting shit back where everything belongs. At least windows saves the desktop background/visual bullshit to the cloud.

Yeah same, I mostly use my second monitor for organization/music/virtual machines

You know there's a setting to only show pins that are open on that monitor right? Saves me a lot of confusion. Can't have completely separate pins but it will only show what's on that monitor

Yeah it defaults into png, I had to save it in a diff format to fit under the 2 mb Sup Forums limit

Thanks for reminding me about that. That's one of the settings that is almost always forgotten with wipes, even with that cloud settings bullshit that only does certain things...

I've been researching software to better optimize my dual monitor setup, there's a few programs around like displayfusion that allows completely separate pins

Might be worth checking out.

good negotiation tactic, shame it doesn't work

yeah.. there's no turning Sup Forums back from a porn board

Unfortunately. That desktop was a good start though, I rarely see someone using enigma.

Thanks!

I spent a dozen hours building my last rainmeter setup, I just wanted something quick and minimalistic this time

you have any rmskin recommendations?

I've coded mine completely from scratch, I've gone through a dozen different layouts, spent months on extending the utility, it goes waaaay beyond showing static shit now, I'll take a screenshot in a sec, just need to troubleshoot my gmail skin quick.

Here it is.

Go finger a Collector, you Reaper apologist.

Looks pretty clean user, efficient launcher too I dig the placement. I had something similar in my last setup

I've just started fucking with the default variables, you're way down the rabbit hole kek

kek is that a screenshot from mass effect or some shit?

Left one is.

>destop thread
>posts windows
¯\(°_o)/¯

Had no clue was just trying to pair an image with the right wallpaper. That's surprising too it was one of the few that matched with realistic depictions of stars

>you're way down the rabbit hole kek
Waaaaaaaaaaay down, kek! I've started with fucking around enigma too. Now I have a gnometer inspired top bar that's always visible and has a fuckton of utility. This will give you some idea.

I'd like to learn linux user, any recommendations for where to pursue knowledge?

use vmware player to test some distros
ubuntu and mint are very user friendly
gnome is best desktop environment imo

I'd like to give up my taskbar too but I feel like it would be too hard to navigate multiple apps. Do you have yours on hover? That's what I did on my single monitor setup

get on my level, windows fagots!

I'd like to get into vulnerability testing and the idea is to create a bootable thumb drive. Would jumping right into something like Kali be a wrong move in your opinion?

I have my taskbar at the bottom, this rainmeter infobar at the top.

>hey fags, look at my ASCII art
Fuck off, it's 2017, learn to use a fucking GUI! Oh wait, Linux programmers can't program a decent GUI to save their lives. GTK is a piece of shit and still the best option.

I didn't even notice, I thought that was just an app launcher. Fuckin nice.

I'm working on a custom taskbar in Winstep Nexus, the windows default doesn't do it anymore for me, shit features.

explain what I'm looking at here user

why the binary? what's the bottom right window?

if you want to do pentest kali is the right choice
parrotOS is also nice

also check out damn vulnerable linux so you can test your tools

> why the binary
I like binary bottom right
An excerpt of my vim config

> butthurt because he can't into cli

>it's 2017, learn to use a fucking GUI!

this is just sad

Thank you for the insight user. Taking note of parrotOS/damn vulnerable, I'll be setting up a virtual machine with Kali later today!

new laptop, new desktop.

What kind of additional functionality are you getting from your new setup?

Joke's on you, I'm dual booting Antergos, so I actually KNOW what I'm talking about when I talk shit about your OS.

>muh CLI
Again, 2017, fuck off, CLI has syntax and commands you need to learn, a GUI just has shit to click on and the options described in a human fucking language. There is no learning curve with a program for home use, that is using an actual frontend. It's also way faster to click on shit, than to type shit.

No, the truly sad thing is, that you are still stuck in 1970, and you think you are some fucking wizard for using an outdated concept to control your home computer. I'd bet my left nut you also collect outdated tech.

Dig the minimalism. It's easy to go crazy with rainmeter

go be fat somewhere else kid

forgot to demonstrate the equalizer.

thanks boss

> this much butthurt because he was too retarded to install arch

CLI is more powerful, it allows to combine all sorts of things.
It can never be replaced by a GUI.

I do use GUI programs, but if available I prefer CLI.

vim/emacs >> atom or any other shitty web based editor
ranger >> any GUI filemanager
and for more complex tasks: bash >> any possible GUI

Stay mad.

Good talk. Now fuck off and circlejerk with your lincuck buddies on Sup Forums. Maybe you'll learn how to properly argue there.

was meant for

>the equalizer
Man that's nice. What's the skin called dude?

...

Learn to read. I'm dual booting Antergos. That's fucking arch.

>muh bash scripts
As if I don't have the same functionality with powershell when I need it.

Well, the nexus taskbar will actually center every taskbar icon, I don't have to fake center them using an empty toolbar at the front. The taskbar thumbnails will be a fixed size and don't fucking shrink when you have more of them, and if they don't fit in a single row, they just expand to multiple rows.

Then what I really hate with grouped taskbar icons on the default taskbar is the limited behavior when I click on them. On my new taskbar I will be able to minimize and restore a single window with a single click, even if there are multiple program windows open.

I will also be able to pin more things, like java apps or folders, not just fucking executables, etc.

So yea, the default windows taskbar is annoying the fuck out of me.

mad fatso is mad

The coloring is so great on that wallpaper. I love anything that fits that purple nebula look

> Learn to read. I'm dual booting Antergos. That's fucking arch.
>> this much butthurt because he was too retarded to install arch

> le powershell
sure, have fun with that

can't beat i3wm

you are 12yo and your box is full of virus

I'm not used to taking this large size pictures before, how do you guys manage to make them less than 5mb?

All games are bought via steam, i just like to find some icons that i like instead of the originals

Save them as jpg instead of png.

you have the same wallpaper

> That default look thou
apart from that, yeah, i3 is amazing

>"Vizual v1.40"
fully customizable from the audio sensitivity to the color of the bars. googling the name should get you to the skin author's website. hes got a lot of nice skins like it.

It seems like I avoid most of those nuisances with the vertical taskbar/no grouping. I really wish I could pin folders though, I'd rid myself of icons completely if I could. I really should just make a launcher for them

There we go.

Well, you can technically still pin folders on Windows, if you edit the Win+X menu to include those folders. I just want to see them on the taskbar directly, with their sizes in the tooltip.

you must be fun at parties

I'm assuming I'd already know how to label the pins if it were possible with stock options?

No not really

...

what's default?
tmux own config
emacs own config
i3 own config

this thread turned out to be alright.

Yea, google Win X menu editor and you'll have a shitton of freeware programs doing the editing. There might be some tutorials as well how to do it manually, always better than to install another program.

So sorry guys.

I usd to have a real PC but I got robbed two months ago and I got a Macbook Pro for free from my dad.

I know im a fag for first wallpaper

i3 uses default window border colors.
Looks pretty ugly

> So sorry guys
put some linux distro on it and I forgive you

he's gonna install elementaryOS

can't stand hovering windows, and its all about the productivity hense emacs and not atom or sublime as the ide, and run everything else out of the terminal. i3 configuration is more about setting up key-bindings not looking pretty.

You made up for it with the galaxy one it's alright anonkun

Looks like we both play Ark too. I was a beta tribe leader on 648, wbu?

I'm with you there, functionality over prettiness, definitely.
But I just really hate those colors, but I guess that's just me

Also, did you use third party software to label the pins??

Well, since he isn't replying, I'm pretty sure that's just the default taskbar set to "combine when taskbar is full".

...

Would be perfect if it didn't replace my launcher pins. Too bad, thanks anyways

nice uptime

...

I'm getting mixed messages here.

uptime was 30+ until recently
decided to update the kernel
