armytimes.com/story/entertainment/2016/05/18/armys-new-recruitment-drive-sign-up-maybe-fight-aliens/84453406/

New doctrines, a lot of excercises with NATO forces, too little funding. Our worthless politicians will rather spend our tax Euros on immigrants than our own country.

youtube.com/watch?v=Ghi8iN2zgvU

Didnt your countries beat our tank crews in some exercise?

Don't even get me started

Also, willingness to fight is still high, in ~80% region, but thanks to doctrinal changes the military can now freely not conscript anyone slightly undesirable.

The FDF media department is also making a ton of high quality videos to enjoy.

youtube.com/watch?v=9Vmei823XaU

Might be. I'm not sure if they won or not, but our conscripts and especially reservists have fared very well against other militaries in their excercises.

youtube.com/watch?v=QEJ-RPOgS1E

Please elaborate. I'm not too familiar with the US military operations

> Hur due let's fire a bunch of combat vets and make way for the new generation

> this generation is full of neckbeard manchildren that watch anime and jerkoff to cartoons

Meme magic stopped being funny after that

Seems the Yanks were satisfied with the excercise as well.

>"Training with the Finnish military has been an eye opening experience. There are many techniques that we have gleaned while working with them (the past few days) that we will implement," Clark said. "The systems are very different but they are compatible, so while we do things differently, we are able to work together and be pretty efficient at it."

Talking about this, do US commanders really give such accurate plans to their subordinate leaders to make it worth a mention?
>"Working with the Finnish has been fantastic. We've learned a lot of different things from them," concluded Lagemann. "The biggest thing is that they give a very clear 'This is what I want you to do' (brief), but they do not give you 'how you should do it'. So, it is very fast paced, think on the go and essentially adapt and over come."

army.mil/article/167544/Dragoon_Troopers_and_Finnish_Soldiers_reach_training_objective_together/

I like your paratroopers. They pull a lot of tail, run around naked by the barracks, give zero fucks about our leadership, and drive around the motor pool brake checking fags.

Romania
>110 million euros spent on AT weapons
>bought a bunch of F16s
>1000 burger soldiers in 2017
that's all for 2016-2017
burger piggu go home

>this is what I want you to do' (brief), but they do not give you 'how you should do it'

Thats the keyword. Just give the order. Dont give me a long winded fucking way to do it.

Soldiers only want the task and never the how because we'll they already know how. And only waste time

I don't understand why Romania or Lithuania for that matter. Except for the missle shield system set up about 2 weeks ago

Don't even ask...

Trying to enlist as 11b and get airborne school in my contract, any advice about what it's like when you're in?

We'll be fine with our T-72M2 tanks, I promise.

Get ready to have a sex lust for running miles on end and have fucked up knees at 24

They don't look too shoddy to me. They should be fine so long as they've got good Sabot rounds and trained crews. Not optimal, but fine.

Cheap and efficient, but I doubt they are outfitted accordingly.

Atleast we'll always have the BMPs

Ours are being modernized. Pic related. Better and more optics, improved radios, heated seats and crew compartment and the IR-reflecting camo net.

At least they're not forcing you to go green with non lead batteries

Who the hell comes up with these?

>we a strong Army of WOC, we don't need white male shitlords
>w-why is recruitment down?!?!? Come back white men! Come back!!!

High echelon officer than has never done regular work in 67% of his career. And has his head up general's asses 99% of the time

ITS TOO LATE

ITS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW .

CORPSES EVERYWHERE, WE CANT STOP THEM

Looks like they want to fight Christ when he comes.

Just for your information. They lose. Yeshua Christ wins.

It seems like someone has been listening to Krugman.

> Conscription for all males, 2 years and periodic reservist after the aforementioned 2 years
> Train in Australia, New Zealand, America, Taiwan and Thailand, win war games
> Missile batteries, supply dumps of varied size and depth scattered across the country

Pretty good fām

What the fuck are you people

>America threatens interstellar peace once again

Not surprised. Shit country, to be honest.

>Conscription for all males, 2 years
What do they do for the second year? Free labour? Guarding?

Mirin

>Conscripts
>ever

What's wrong with conscripts?

Doing Annual Training right now with my Guard unit. Not saying anything because opsec and all that.
I'm tired of it, and want to go active Navy.

The reasons I joined are no longer valid. I can see why nobody would want to enlist. The skies over America's future are gray. However, if Trump takes over and revitalizes the armed forces, he will truly make the service, and America, great again.

24 months of service in total. If you're overweight and fail Physical Education class, you will go into service 3 months early for fitness courses.

1st to 3rd month: Basic

(Privates) 3rd to 9th month: Specialisation

(NCOs) 3rd to 9th month: Specialist Training Course

(Officer Cadets) 3rd to 12th month: Officer Cadet School

The rest of the time in the military is spent on continuous exercises, being on active duty (literally waiting in FBO for a Malaysian invasion) and going for new courses (JCC, SERE, Assault infantry etc)

Then you get called up for 3 weeks every 2 years until you're 40. You'll be given your own gun and equipment back and sent on exercises locally or abroad immeidately. No refresher course, you'll be paradropped into Brunei's rainforests or flown to Australia's Shoalwater.

Physical proficiency exams are held monthly at local centres and failing them will mean government-mandated additional training on Sundays.

Mobilisation exercises can occur anytime. Unit codenames will be broadcast on radio, flashed on TV, sent via SMS and posted by officers all over the internet (I received a mobilisation order on Reddit once). You will have 3 hours to report to a staging area, put on your FBO and load up.

In essence, we're ready to remove surrounding kebab.

Conscripts aren't too bad if they're trained rigorously enough for a long duration. IDF has held their ground with a conscript army.

Our standing army is around 90000 strong anyway. For a country with 4 million citizens, I'd say this isn't too bad.

Sounds pretty good. Does the second year cause any issues amongst the conscripts? Frustration, violence, pointless hazing, forced prostitution? I know former Soviet countries had severe issues with their conscriptions lasting far too long and most have opted to shorten it.

Played golf with 3 Para, can confirm fun guys.

I rather be guerrilla fighter

Nope, not at all. Hazing has never been part of East Asian military tradition. No forced prostitution or labour either. The main complaint was boredom, and the men would get around that by bringing books to read, studying for Uni (which they would enroll in the next year) or smuggling gaming consoles on base. Morale was decent, the best a conscript's morale could be.

The Taiwanese Conscripts I worked with had shit morale. They just drank through the entire exercise and we felt bad for smashing them while playing OPFOR. They scrapped conscription 2 years ago.

Our military has been slowly gutted by parties on both sides of the political spectrum and it sucks.

It's starting to get to the stage where I think the Green party would be more pro-military than Labour (our dems) or National (our repubs). The Greens mightn't start wars but at least they'd give our navy and airforce enough gear and people to patrol our EEZ (4th largest in the world) and do more disaster relief stuff.

I mean holy fuck, we have boats which were purchased brand new in the late 2000s and have never left dock.

Sounds like you've got it in great form.

>drank through the entire exercise
That is some piss-poor discipline. No wonder they scrapped it. Only international experience I've got is taking part as a squad leader in an ambush on a Swedish platoon. My company XO who led the ambush told me the Swedish leader was butthurt about it. Didn't believe we had mines there until they were shown to him. All in all the new doctrine works well.

youtube.com/watch?v=foipv7iVP-c

I unfortunately never got to work with any Western militaries. I'd imagine it to be a challenge though. It's good Finland retains conscription, it's important for defense and turns boys into men.

> Swedish platoon
Does that even exist? In all seriousness how did the exercise go?

Also, how's Finland's conscription system like? Is it different from ours?

I am contract military btw. It's my 5th year now.

Holy shit that video was good

>I received a mobilisation order on Reddit once

Kebab will probably remove you.

>nasty girl

It's different and I'd say a bit worse.

Average grunts serve 6 months, certain ones 9 and NCOs/Officers serve 12 months. With 75 days refresher training for the grunts and 100 for the NCO/Officers, though many voluntarily serve more.
Have a video on the subject.

youtube.com/watch?v=LHLEY4uIqno

I'm thinking of enlisting t b h

>In all seriousness how did the exercise go?
Forgot to answer. Just good. There wasn't any real outcome, since all of the endwar excercises simulate a Russian invasion and it couldn't be solved in the 5 days it lasted.

Memes aside, the surrounding kebabs manage to be more incompetent than Arab armies, which is amazing.

Their fighter jets have no engines (due to corruption) and their M16s have Chinese parts in them (due to the money allocated to repairs being siphoned away). Malaysia scrapped conscription this year because of a lack of funding.

Well, it is a little short of a duration. Still, it's not too bad, it isn't needlessly long or intense. You guys don't face an existential threat anyway (What's Russia going to do?). I'll definitely give it a watch when I get back to my bunk.

Also, to make a third post and to put it short. Once we're through with our training, which involves the military excercise and the "endwar" wargame, we get sent home, so we're not stuck on the base waiting for an invasion or anything. Usually one or two leaders remain onboard as an enlistee for the next batch of conscripts and then move to the military academy for further military education.

come here and find out

Damn, that's good to hear. The last exercise we had, some conscript died from suffocation after an allergy was triggered by the smoke grenades used. The officer in charge used 6 instead of the 2 that was stipulated.

> We get sent home
That's amazing. I guess you guys can afford to be less anxious about national defense since the Russians are rational players on the political arena. The kebabs around us are insane.

If you can get a Ranger slot, take it.
All you gotta do is not be a shitbag and never give up.
But yeah, you're gonna have to like running.

What this guy said.
I honestly can't ride a bike anymore and stairs have become my bane.

It;s your old Axis inspired tactics.
It's part of the reason that your style of combat works so well, it relies on the innovation of the common corporal and his privates.
The USA can't do that because their soldiers are taught to fight in a combined assault with air and armour superiority.

Canada's tactics are like Finland's but only because we have no money.

Indo needs some cleansing. Where did yall go wrong?

Same with russian I doubt anything would happen because of it

>That's amazing. I guess you guys can afford to be less anxious about national defense since the Russians are rational players on the political arena. The kebabs around us are insane.
A bit less anxious, yes, but it's still partially due to budget cuts and our economy going down the shitter as well as retarded politicians with their priorities all wrong.

That said, we do have a massive homefield advantage and very difficult terrain in the East. Full of bogs, lakes and rocky hills that make it extremely difficult to navigate through anything that's not chosen and protected by our troops. Our bridges even have pre-placed holes in them for explosives, so engineers will take minimum effort and time to destroy them before an advancing enemy.

Stay out of my shoalwater, Poland.

How long till your airforce is retired completely?

We haven't started yet fām

Well, compared to the rest of Europe's armies, Finland seems to be doing comparatively well. Unfortunately for Singapore, there is hardly any homefield to fight on or regroup, so everything is geared towards an offensive strategy to capture as much enemy territory as possible to fight on. That's why we have so much armour.

As for the bridges, we have that too. There was a bit of a diplomatic incident when the Malaysians realised the Causeway bridge linking both our countries was designed to be blown up.

I've never been to Shoalwater, but my colleagues who have recall beating up abo beggars who tried stealing our petrol to presumably sell

>There was a bit of a diplomatic incident when the Malaysians realised the Causeway bridge linking both our countries was designed to be blown up.

>stealing our petrol to presumably sell
Oh, I don't think they'll be selling it when they could be sniffing it instead.

Wish we had one...Thanks USA.

Pushing retarded PC bullshit like removing "man" from infantry designations and pushing for a unisex dress blues. All the while my Marines putz around on the Alpha Shelf with notional rounds looking for a notional enemy on a notional CP

The Corps lacks direction because we don't have a mission, and bored Marines are trouble no matter the rank

3rd for knee problems. Did 12 months in Afghanistan as a 240 gunner. Don't know why anyone would want combat arms right now.

I'm 30 can I join still?

I beleive the cutoff is 35

Badass Finland! Keep it up.

That 2nd vid is like.. - Fuck man, it's like scenes from the coming civil conflicts in europe. as if we're already gearing up, readying for it.

Yeah, they were for sure going to huff that gas in order to get high.

Really now? Even if I'm a fat shit?
