first for MWL

First for VWL 2017

Alonso's time was done with SS, the red striped tyres.

GIMI WDC

LEWIS HAMILTON: OVER/UNDER 18.5 WINS THIS SEASON?

TLDR

RED BULL CONFIRMED CHOKED
FERRARI CONFIRMED BASED
TORO ROSSO CONFIRMED BASED
MERC CONFIRMED UNBEATABLE
MCHONDA CONFIRMED KILL

Not according to autosport lad

Friendly reminder that I won the Testing Day 1 prediction.

nth for Red Bull/STR BTFO by Haas

Nico Hulkenberg will NEVER score a podium finish in Formula 1

Ferrari does seem to be doing pretty good.
I hope that's the case because RedBull doesn't look that hot so far.

he will eventually
can't see Renault not having a top 3 car in the next three years

Hmm, Vettel only 1/10th off and was an medium.

Bottas getting beat by a fucking Haas.

Any and all good results for Renault from 2018 onwards will be from the car of Carlos Sainz

>Ferrari looking decent

Wew lads is it happening?

In Formula E, yes.

day 1 2016 times

Renault do not compete in f-e

note: e.dams is NOT Renault

>sainz leads 99% of the race
>his car breaks down because it remembered it was being driven by sainz

Stop believing everything they tell you.

Look with your own eyes.

If any of the top 6 are race pace laptimes then these cars are astounding

Some of these are already faster than 2016 quali pole (1.22.0)

This lads, Renault will drop out after a few embarrassing years of finishing like P12 on average

...

those are wrong

Congrats germany

What did they mean by this?

>"we spent more time on the front wing than trying to get Honda to actually build a decent engine for us": The car

>"A new color will make the car go faster": the car

i'll be honest lads, this new McLaren livery is growing on me. might be my new favorite desu

>Ferrari running glory laps with light car
You can scratch that in the bingo. I mean I want Ferrari to do well but it was the same last year. They were very close in testing and then when it really mattered they fell behind.

Yup, the car doesn't look harmonious at all.

Merc is obviously not showing their true pace, but at least Ferrari is reliable right from the start and not embarrassingly far away from the top pace. Who knows, they COULD be glory running but why

Alonso is running with supersoft

I don't know why. Noone knows where most of the team stand, because we have no access to all the data. I mean I guess you could say that McLaren are shit, but that was a given even before the testing.

Why

thank you thank you

By the way does anyone know why Kimi didn't take part?

passed away...

he was drunk

because they just are
those arent the final times

Fall off a boat when he was drunk, drowned and passed away

was having a shit

Ferrari finally has a good car so Gimi gonna win all the races this season.

Its the 2016 day 1 times

Not 2017

>ferrari based
Hey you've forgot about pit and tyre management lad

Hope so but I fear that might not be the case. See

1) Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes, 73 laps, soft tyres, 1:21.765; 2) Sebastian Vettel, Ferrari, 128 laps; medium tyres, 1:21.878; 3) Felipe Massa, Williams, 103 laps, soft tyres, 1:22.076; 4) Kevin Magnussen, Haas, 51 laps 1:22.894; 5) Daniel Ricciardo, Red Bull, 50 laps, soft tyres, 1:22.926; 6) Valtteri Bottas, Mercedes, 79 laps, soft tyres, 1:23.169; 7) Sergio Perez, Force India, 39 laps, 1:23.709; 8) Carlos Sainz, Toro Rosso, 51 laps, 1:24.494; 9) Nico Hulkenberg, Renault, 57 laps, 1:24.784; 10) Fernando Alonso, McLaren, 29 laps, 1:24.852; 11) Marcus Ericsson, Sauber, 72 laps, 1:26.841

That's according to Sky.

Moments before he died

hole in mercedes' fin

Yes, but I posted the 2016 day 1 times.

We are in 2017

lewd

I know, I just posted the right ones.

Some pritt stick will do.

How is it even legal?

>Bottas getting beat by a fucking Haas.
he was doing high fuel long runs to test deg

Anything noteworthy happen after Ric died?

Nothing had happened since 1988

>everyone still undermining Haas
What's gonna happen if it's mid season and they're still competitive?

So both rebull teams are shit?

ok, I just posted the 2016 times to compare with today

here is both anyway

>manor
rip

Seems like the simple aero is too simple. Ferrari looks fast.

What did she mean by this?

>Sauber still doing slower than Riccy last year

It hurts lads

So your telling me you could have your own formula one team now for little to no money?

It's even slower than last years' McLaren

There is no hope for Sauber while currytits is leading it, is there

Shame, they were my favorite team 2013-2014

>McLaren 20

I think going for a whole new engine was risky... this is the worst possible outcome... But it had to be done, they needed to change the engine concept. I think they will have time before Australia to iron it all out. Unlike 2015, where they had to submit the final specs, before they had a chance to really test the engine because of all the problems. I think if they get to Australia with a shit design they will come back quickly with a better one and by Spain they will be ok again...

And this is the best that can possibly happen with McLels this season.

Is there anywhere you can see the fastest splits for each driver? I want to no what in theory is how quick they were going round

Why is McLaren literally r*ddit the team?

What has McLaren done to warrant any sort of liking? They've managed to burn bridges with the majority of the successful drivers that have driven for them post-Häkkinen

McLaren drivers who fell out with them for whatever reason:

>Kimi
>dunno what happened with Coulthard because I don't remember, doesn't seem to be too friendly with them nowadays though
>Montoya
>Alonso (round 2 incoming quickly)
>Hamilton
>Even Button clearly has some distaste about them, jerking him around, renewing contracts at the last minute, then this whole "reserve driver" bullshit, knowing parts of the team really wanted him gone anyway
>Magnussen
>Perez (probably deserved if reports of his behavior are true)

>it's another season of MWL
>possibly HWL

I'm confused, is the acronym supposed to be "Hondawinslol" or "Haaswinslol"?

I mean, yea, but now there's no hiding. If Honda can't produce a decent package by mid year than they are probably out.

>possibly

>expecting anything different

They will win every championship until 2020 then drop out of the sport claiming it is no longer a challenge and they achieved what they want to. Mercedes has suggested several times that their F1 outing is not a permanent thing and they will stop taking part in the future once they achieve what they have set out to do (which they likely already have).

Look how much fucking downforce this thing has, it's nose up

Did you adjust times for atmospheric differences?

What is McLaren going to do though? They aren't getting Mercedes power again. I would be astounded if they got Ferrari power just because its such a massive conflict. Their only option would be Renault and that is entirely dependant on Renault actually wanting to supply them. The Renault works team (and maybe Toro Rosso, maybe even Red Bull) clearly have a lot to gain from having an unusually weak McLaren, so you can see why they would not want to supply them.

I think Ron "The engine is a piece of jewelry" Dennis might have fucked his team up much more than anyone really anticipated.

>make tiny contact and lose 1 small winglet from front wing
>car is immediately undrivable

That's the trick suspension working to drop the rake on the straights for less drag and faster top speeds.

You seem to forget that it was a MCLAREN chassis that propelled Jenson Button to first place in the legendary 2011 Canadian GP, the single most exciting and challenging race in Formula 1 history. Said performance established Button as the undeniable F1 GOAT (anyone who says otherwise is clearly biased against Brits) and will never be matched by any driver past, present, and future.

...

>Ferrari 3s faster
>did you adjust time for atmospheric differences
They might as well be slower than Renault then.

This is K-Mag's year, I can just feel it.

He had to do it though. It's impossible to win it if your team gets supplied with old engines.

This is the shittiest meme and literally r*ddit tier

kill yourself my man

I get his logic, he just went about it in a catastrophic way with complete lack of preparation.

I don't know how different the PU stuff is in the current era but Red Bull won championships with Renault engines with Renault on the grid, McLaren won races and almost championships with Mercedes engines with Mercedes on the grid as a competitor. It's not unheard of to win as a customer team, but I do get his point.

Why don't they have mercedes engines anymore? It it because they are not ''mercedes works'' anymore?

Official /f1/ Livery Rankings - Final Score

>Toro Rosso - 4.73
>Sauber - 3.821
>Ferrari - 3.815
>Renault - 3.45
>Williams - 3.41
>Red Bull - 3.40
>Mercedes - 3.32
>Haas - 3.10
>McLaren - 2.98
>Force India - 1.81

Pretty close to the order I would rank them. Only thing I would change would be to switch McLaren and Haas.
Hope you guys enjoyed it.

That was all in the V8 era.
V8s were dead simple compared with these V6H, and customer teams aren't allowed to use all the engine modes that the factory team can use (ask Williams)

Yes but Renault didn't have the same capacity as Red Bull. How many teams have won a championship as a Ferrari customer team?
The question is legitimate, I'm too young to remember anything pre 2004-5 and I didn't understand shit back then.
He doesn't test because he prefers to spend half the season struggling to get used to the new car and then have a comparatively better second half of the season with consistent third places, thus lulling us all into a false sense of security thinking kimi is back to his best by the end of the season

And rinse and repeat every season

>plebs think the STReddit looks better than this

Those flashy colors will get old before australia.

>being this new
>Toothpaste

What old engines? Williams would be no where without the Mercedes engine and except for the last couple of races in 2015, every mercedes team has had current hardware and current software, if they are running the petronas fuel and oils.

Is downloading/streaming the Teds notebook thing worth it? I've never seen it.

Been reading some spanish media from 2014 they were convinced that while 2015 would be a hard year (only a few wins and podiums kek), 2016 would be Alonso's year.

2017 and the car is still awful.

It's usually on jewtube for a bit, before it is taken down.

Is McLaren bad because they separated their departments too much? The design looks okay, but some of it looks out of place or lacking.

no one has won a World Championship with a customer engine, the closest you could say is some of the renault engines the Williams or the Lotus back in the day, but it was still pretty much a works relationship
