The stereotypes of Germany are appealing. It's impossible to really judge since I've only met one or two Germans before, but they do seem to have a very logical approach to the world which is admirable. There's a tendency for very skilled analysis which is a product of a good education system. You can find intelligent people all over the U.S., but it's uncommon to find someone skilled at thinking methodically that can pick through the options given and competently explain why they choose one over the others.

Of course it's a generalization, and Germany isn't unique among European countries to have this, but they do seem to be particularly good at it. I want to visit some day.

Actually, Germans have a tendency to be extreme left or extreme right. And their politics desperately cling to the Christian middle.

While in the Netherlands we have political parties from all directions. And we always end up with a center right liberal consensus.
