>how's the new Pyrrhon
Maybe a bit early for me to say, but might just be AOTY so far. The riffing and structures are even more diverse than before. Production wise the guitar finally gets a lot of space so he really goes all out there, but Doug does some more interesting things with his vocals as well. The new drummer brings in a variety of interesting grooves. Its equivalents of super slow and clean parts feel more interesting than The Mother Of Virtues' since there's more weird riffing to support those. Also a lot of the tracks have legit improvised sections. It was literally made like something between a metal or a jazz record, or like some of King Crimson/Zappa's stuff where it's partly composed partly improvised.
Decibel has the full stream of the record since the record won't come out till the 11th and their bandcamp only has three of the tracks available.
Otherwise thanks for the recs btw! Check out:

Rate, comment, guess, etc.
Do not rate if you are only going to do so because you "have to".
>true patricians listen to obscure music like Tool and Dream Theater edition
lol
why cant you just listen to normal music?
What do you mean?
Why do you have listed a record thats over 100 years old and the golden record from the voyager?
Because both have some great music? I don't see how that makes a difference, really.
>You Slut!
Good pick. you should check out Tera Melos and Alpha Male Tea Party

solid stuff
try the gun club and if you like it you might wanna try getting into country blues
i actually have a lot of stuff to give you but most of them are pretty popular alas i don't know how deep your music pool is
babymetal LMAO dude why would you do this to yourself srsly
tool and dream theater are good bands honestly
sadly they get a bit repetitive (especially tool). moreso for me since i spammed the fuck outta them in my childhood
six degrees of turbulence is honestly ass
why would you bother listening to 2017 and 2016 when there are a lot of albums you haven't heard from the earlier years? honest question
the Sup Forumsessentials
not saying this in an offensive way since you have albums from almost every genre chances are you will enjoy the albums in Sup Forumsessentials more than a braindead suggestion from some turbofaggot in a chart thread lol
>Am I pleb?
yes
stop listening to bowie and i might reconsider
>the Sup Forumsessentials
>since you have albums from almost every genre
Holy shit lol
Sup Forumsessentials is pretty diverse when it comes to rock music
i should have clarified almost every genre of rock music but my point stands, no need to be nitpicky
>Sup Forumsessentials is pretty diverse when it comes to rock music
Not even that.
>i should have clarified almost every genre of rock music but my point stands, no need to be nitpicky
That's more reasonable, but consider the fact that some people actually believe what you literally said before.
>hows that cows album
Filthy. It sounds like it was recorded in a basement through a ghetto blaster, then played and recorded through a ghetto blaster again.
It's great. Dirty, messy and noisy, but damn fun and the bass riffs there are really good.
>Not even that
how so?
when i say diverse i mean it on a very surface level. it has some of the more defining albums of every decade that spans multiple genres. namely prog, psych, post-punk, indie rock and et cetera
for someone who doesn't focus on any distinct style of music the Sup Forumsessentials serves well
musicsamples is also good but makes more sense after finishing the essentials. musicsampler undoubtedly covers some more specific genres which you can skip over with the essentials
>but consider the fact that some people actually believe what you literally said before.
i really don't give a shit what some people think. some people think the earth is flat why should i care
sounds like my thing then
gotta give it a try
meant musicsampler*
1) It's not even good for rock music. There is a lot of redundant stuff and misses a lot of way more deserving albums. It barely touches prog, psych and post punk, and indie rock is not essential for the most part but gets the most exposure. The Sup Forumscore chart sucks, seriously.
2) If enough people thought the earth was flat and you jokingly said so on here without using any mechanism to express irony or sarcasm I would call you an idiot. Do you get the idea?
>There is a lot of redundant stuff and misses a lot of way more deserving albums
here comes the part where you need to stuff being all talk and give me examples from the Sup Forumsessentials and give examples of more deserving albums.
im looking at an old version of the essentials (which is much worse than the newer ones) and it has enough of everything, basically.
and for your second point: firstly, my statement isn't even close to being as ridiculous as stating the earth is flat and doesn't really do any harm if people genuinely believe it. secondly, it certainly isn't controversial enough to sperg over it. i mean i kinda get your point but it's needless to argue over it too much.
ff
Can you post which chart you are thinking about?
I don't remember much differences between both (the big ones, divided by genres, right? The one that ends with hipster victory).
And whatever on your second paragraph now.
sorry im not on my computer right now
if you are active by the time i get home we can talk about it then
the one with hipster victory is very old and certainly suboptimal. its still fine to use though and it was what i used back in 2013 when there weren't any better ones and i didn't know rym was so good for music discovery either
I'm active on Sup Forums all the time, so sure.
But nah, the hipster victory one is awful. Like I said before, barely touches prog, psych and post punk while it's over saturated with indie rock, and there is far more to rock music than those genres.

>stop listening to bowie
*listens to metallica - master of puppets*
and metallica is miles better than bowie? lmao fuck off
i wasn't being serious of course people can listen to whatever they want but if you are asking my opinion metallica is an amazing band while bowie is a fucking con artist in my eyes
>my opinion metallica is an amazing band while bowie is a fucking con artist in my eyes
more like piero's opinion :^)
i was saying bowie was trash before piero was even born so yeah
where you marrying 12 years old girls before he was born

How did you make this chart? Neverendingchart hasn't been working for me is it that?

New Converge EP is worth the time for the second track alone which is this sorta long sludgy epic, but the first track is typical Converge style first track that's quick with a cool breakdown near the end.
I recommend that and the new Black Magick SS records.
