Because the current trend has shown that democratically owned corporations and businesses do censor free speech and then label it as "hate speech." You only need to look at youtube's new censorship systems to realize this. You can be against "hate speech" all you want, but you can't label dissenting opinions as "hate speech" just because you don't agree with them. Youtube's not alone in this practice btw.
