it's good it just doesn't fill you up, very sad
This. It's a snack.
I tried sashimi and octopus once. The sashimi didn't really taste like anything, but the octopus tasted like a fishy basketball. Then I ate a spoonful of salmon roe, thinking that it was tobiko. It was gross
I love it.
feels bad for you senpai.
I couldn't stand the texture. But i fucking love rice.
>cold, raw fish
>cold rice
Why can't japs just fucking cook their food like normal people?
living on an inbred island does this to you for some reason, ask the brits
Wtf it's delicious
Yeah you're a pleb
I'd eat sushi everyday if I wasn't poor and lived in a third world country with terrible hygiene
>normal people
I find the perfectly normal rolls pretty tasteless to be honest. If you dip them in just a little bit of soy it's mostly just going to taste like soy.
I like the plebby western modifications (made often enough by japanese emigrants who have modified the dishes to fit foreign tastebuds) where they throw in a bunch of shit.
none of this resembles anything familiar but damn if looking at it doesn't make me hungry
like here's one chef that is expanding back from Italy with his modifications
he adds stuff to nigiris as well
>not liking raw fish
My ancestors laugh at you, germ.
>im 1/28 inuit and completely culturally european-canadian, haha fuckin wh*tes am i rite
let's be honest sushi is fucking terrible only weebs force themselves to like it because muh japen
no, you are just too poortugal
You have to have a lot of money to spend and eat somewhere where they make it properly. or you just have shit taste
I love California rolls with wasabi. As for other sushi I'm not interested as I can't eat fish anyway.
Sushi is nice.
The OP is a moor kang so he doesn't like civilized food.
>tried macaco for the first time
>didn't like it
>pretended to like it so the nice Brazilian ladies who ran the restaurant didn't feel sad about it
Brazilian food is uma delícia
Do not worry, you are cool.
I am Chinese, kind of culturally similar to Japanese. But I failed to appreciate it on my first trail, too.
>so the the nice Japanese ladies
I bet you anything they were Chinese
>tfw the only sushi I can get here is from the "Chinese" buffet restaurant
Thank you. The best sushi I restaurant in Boston (in my opinion) is a an Americanized Sushi place. My favorite roll has a thin layer of tapura along the outside of the cylinder and sauces it with with some sort of chive/light spicy mixture. Shit's godlike.
I'm a fetishist for a good light crunch though.
>tried your mom for the first time
>didn't like it
>pretended to like it so the nice user who ran his room didn't feel sad about it
this
japs may call it an abomination, but the 'sushi' restaurants here do great business
I think more foreiners demand fish, more fish endengers.
So I am happy foreiners woukld stop eating fish because I hate the day we conldn't eat them anymore.
Asians eat fish by the bucket loads so it won't matter... I bet the reason over fishing is even a thing is due to Asia.
Foreigners hate whale though you fucking jap. We internally regulate overfishing. You're the one who ignores it.
Baka
nice kindness.
I hope that your kindness will bring you some happy things.
>nice Japanese ladies
99% sure they were chinks
I think so too
almost all of Sushi owner in oversea are Korean/Chinese
the only time I met japanese people in Portugal was in a scientific conference
they were very shy and spoke bad engrish
that explain very well they were really Japanese
I'm not good at having communication with foreingners IRL too
何でもかんでもチュウゴクジンガーカンコクジンガーwwwwwwww
there is only 600 Japanese in Portugal
It would fill you up if you had all-you-can-eat places like we do.
Every time I go out for sushi I eat until I'm bursting.
I was left with the impression that communication skills aren't an important thing in Japan. In the western world we have the opposite idea.
But be assured those japs showcased good science stuff. One of them even won the best paper in the conference if I recall correctly.
Sushi here's pretty good, especially all you can eat buffets for like 10-15 dollars.
I think its the lack of competition that makes your sushi shit.
>communication skills aren't an important thing in Japan
It's different judgement standards.
Here, a good idea poorly presented will always be rejected. I think it's same in western countries
I meant communication on a speech level.
The papers were well written. But the presentations were so dull. The contrast with american and european speakers was huge.
Even middle school students here make better presentations.
Yes.Western people looks very self-confidence and individualism
Recently the communication skills have been recognized as important skill especially in job hunting or in actual buisiness scene even in here though
>won the best
if they even couldn't have good archivement in that conference then they would be just a usless nerdy people, I'm glad to hear japs successed lol
can you stop cutting into the conversation? or at least take a trip or something individual yourself please? don't reply to him as me, I know it's my selfishness when we are in anonymous forum though
Are you this guy?
>何でもかんでもチュウゴクジンガーカンコクジンガーwwwwwwww
you are pretty cringe and weird
You found a sample of the politically correct vegan's delight, "Locally discarded urinal cake"
it's different standards
Here, old and conservative people are usually at the top of organization, therefore funny and easy to understand presentation like american do can be rejected by the old managers. Most of all if it is about serious topic.
It is changing, but very slowly. But at the same time, I don't want to have frat boy as manager just because they can make good joke
デビッドくんなの?
I wonder if North saveges are eligible to talk about food culture.Sushi is only a small part of Japanese food culture.
Well, I'm glad I got to talk to 2 japanese persons!
This is sushi.
はあ…日本関連のスレは必ずネトウヨに滅茶苦茶にされる…
I tried nigiri sushi n it was good but didnt like the californi roll.
Because Netouyo is retarded as gook, if you can speak English properly you can quickly refute.
Why do you use English? why do you stop your autism?
Did you put sky source and wasabi with sashime?
Without it it must by tasteless.
Bakamura desu
I mean soy souce. Sorry for bad type.
Depends, I eat it as an appetizer in most restaurants here but went all out when I was in nipland.
Holy shit, sushi is among the worst things I've ever eaten, it's not uma delícia at all.
I see all my friends getting all AHAHAHA sushi~~~~~s2~~ UMA DELÍCIA and I throw up in my mouth a little.
>raw meat
>ever
Fuck, I wonder if I would be able to survive in Japan on my own, some dishes like Yakisoba are fine, but even their rice is ruined because they cook it with vinegar and other sour shit.
I used to think anpan was a really tasty delicacy, until I learned they are SWEET, all my interest disappeared. Maybe I will make some salty anpan one day and see how I like it.
Chinese food is miles better than Japanese.
But I will probably be in your situation soon, Portugal, I intend going to Japen soon and I have decided to give some real sushi a last chance. Will try to survive the whole experience of eating them in one bite and all that jazz.
U M A
@74478210
For uma delìcia sopa de macaco, you should go to China, it's just next door. Japanese food is not for you.
I like sashimi better than I like sushi. I think sushi is very much over-rated in the West compared to a lot of other Japanese foods.
At least you understand how to be a polite. There's hope for you yet - now you just need to cultivate your tastes.
Raw meat is a sign of advanced civilisation, because barbarians don't understand how to make sure the raw meat is safe to eat.
Disgusting shit.
>even their rice is ruined because they cook it with vinegar and other sour shit
b8
Why give (You)s to such an obvious bait?
>he doesn't understand funposting
>Chinese food is miles better than Japanese.
I agree. chinese cuisine is god tier.
>he thinks sushi is a joke
???
A German said on a television program "Surprisingly Japanese sushi is not fishy". His remarks surprised me, "Are Germans eating fishy sushi?". Even the Japanese vomit fishy sushi.
>japanese food
>literally cold uncooked fish
>for some insane reason no one makes fun of this "cuisine"
Better than Brazilian monkey soup desu.
Traditionally, sushi in Japan is about as rare as tartar steak in Europe.
Most sushi shops in Japan are concentrated in big cities where the tourists go. There is almost no sushi shops in suburban or rural areas.
The """japanese""" food you had is not representative to Japan's Japanese foo and was probably not prepared by Japanese people.
Related picture is what a typical Japanese meal set in Japan looks like.
The sashimi is just there to freshen your palate before the main dish, which is a grilled mackerel marinated in sweet sake.
And this all costs less than $10.
I'd love to go to Japan if they weren't so xenophobic desu.
The overwhelming majority of Japanese are very nice to Westerners, especially tourists. Unless you're a nuisance or an idiot, you should have an excellent time in Japan. Your concerns about "xenophobia" suggest to me that you may fall in the latter problem category, however.
Are you fucking kidding me? Sushi was "invented" by nip fishers who used vinegar to conserve their fish for longer periods of time before getting back to land and properly preparing the meat with fire.
You are literally eating sailor food. How can that be superior cuisine? It's on par with sopa de macaco.
Besides, even if your rice wasn't vinegared like crap, it's sticky and clammy, not how actual rice should be.
>marinated in sweet sake
Ruined. Why not add some umeboshi while you're at it, you sour-eating gook barbarian?
Do all people ITT eat sushi in chinese or korean restaurants or what?
If that's the case, yes only weebs can like that shit.
Sushi like you can eat in Japan on the other hand is a hundred times better though.
Sadly where I live there is just one restaurant that has good sushi and it's hella expensive.
I personally like sushi a lot, when I was in Japan I noticed that they generally don't use much seasonings, compared to European food.
At first I didn't like it cause it "tasted like nothing" but I started to appreciate it later on, it's nice to actually taste the fresh ingredients by themselves instead of only tasting the sauce that pretty much overlaps the taste.
