Go all in, you have no braincells left to lose, grandpa.

The expanse

I thought I was the only one who loved that show

red dwarf

I haven't watched network TV in over 10 years. These programs were produced for Television you fucktard and later streamed. Go all in on your virginity.

Syfy didn't pick it up, but what aired is amazing. Best thing they have aired since BSG

Star Trek: The Animated Series

COME THE FUCK ON

Watching it right now. Season 2, episode 10. Still the greatest scifi show ever.

Yes young Summer Glau is smoking hot. But they pulled the plug too early to compare it either SG1 or Battle Star

...

...

It's syfy now.

The Expanse is pretty good.

Yep my auto fill got fkd after the system upgrade.

Hands of blue what!? Tell us more! I've always secretly envied trekkies for having something so in depth to nerd over. I'd secretly hoped that Firefly would take off enough for it to become my Star Trek. But alas...

All of those ladies were/are smokin'. I think Summer is mostly just as attractive now, though she hasn't really been in anything in a while and she had a baby, so idk now.

I used to be such a browncoat. Haven't watched it in at least 3 years, though, so I don't really remember. =/

My recommendation for SciFi is Dollhouse, which is also Joss Whedon and also has Summer Glau for a portion. But it's not the traditional "ships in space" kind of scifi so idk if it really belongs in this thread.

Andromeda
Farscape
Sg1
Atlantis

Almost Human was cut off way too soon. What a waste.

...

TNG
DS9
SG1
SGA
BSG
Firefly
Eureka
Farscape
Dr Who
Xfiles

tons more but those are the ones i like the most

Star Trek TNG and DS9 obviously, Farscape was pretty great, Stargate Atlantis was solid too. I've heard Babylon 5 is pretty great; but I didn't watch it much when it was on the air and I don't know where you can watch it now.

Best one going right now is The Expanse.

Star Gate Atlantes???? For real?

> Dr Who

Even if this show were any good, it doesn't belong in this thread. Dr Who is definitively in the realm of fantasy. Less "technology" is explained than magic is explained in Game of Thrones.

>Tight, smartly written story that went exactly as long as it needed to to fulfill it's story
>Ground-breaking CGI visual effects that looked better than anything on TV in the early 90s
>Shot and broadcast in 16:9 widescreen over a decade before that was the standard
>Ships and technology rooted in real-world science, so much so that NASA contacted the writers and crew to talk about the potential of creating real-world ships based on their designs
>Totally ripped off by DS9 after CBS looked over the B5 series 5 season outline and passed on it
>Just a damn amazing scifi show that doesn't get nearly the recognition it deserves

dat science

Star mother fuckin gate

> Doesn't name the show

I don't know who these people are or what show this is but your recommendation is glowing.

user has earned some cool points tonight. B5 is badly underrated SciFi. But I can't give BSG a good rating due to how it all ended. Sure the writers strike fucked things up a bit, but I think the show suffered from the same problem as ABC's Lost. They started a show and didn't know where they were going with it.

No Farscape?

Gracias user.

>Been posting Babylon 5 shit all night

Wow. Flashback to blowing my load to the alien chick in the middle. 2003?

BSG was good except for the filler episode and weird ass ending.

10/10

I'll nominate Stargate: SGU and Sliders,

Warehouse 13 for the win!!

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

No one's mentioned this show why?

This. Expanse is the shit.

You have truly awful taste user, might I suggest some kind of noose?
This guy gets it

SG-1 or Farscape

Dumb faggot detected.

There are also a few TV movies and a spinoff series called Crusade, but I'm not sure they're on that site.
I second this one too. Gone too soon.

I'm also going to vote The Expanse for recent series that piqued my interest. Although I was really enjoying the slow play at first. Seemed like it was going to be a nice gritty "low fantasy" epic but it started getting a little busy. Almost too exciting. I don't feel it needed the "save the world" vibe, I was happy with the "make it through the day" plot

First season was best. Petered off for me

>I was happy with the "make it through the day" plot

This is great at the start of a scifi/fantasy series, but sooner or later you either go down the "save the " path or revel in your lack of agency

Each have their benefits for showing off the fictional universe

More B5, because why not?

WHAT THE FUCK I THOUGHT SUMMER WAS OVER?! GET OUT NORMIES RREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

...

>Underage b&

Gets weird in Season 5.

But most shows get topheavy in their last season and crash like a Jenga tower in some way.

I love this whole "REE" thing. It's so fucking stupid. I think it's supposed to make of autistic people (nice, by the way, real nice.) but it seems to be mostly used in a more genuine way... so are you making fun of yourself, or... ? And when was the last time you heard an "autistic screech"? When has that ever been a thing?

>Firefly was great scifi because it had hot girls in it
You're literally everything wrong with everything. Your only redeeming quality is that you actually admitted that's the only reason you liked the show, unlike most of the cancerous fanbase who go on about it being fantastic when it is decidedly average. I hate that people suck Whedon's balls cos they can't tell the difference between a good show and a bad one with pretty girls. Buffy is objectively the worst fucking show yet people still go on about it.
The world would be a better place if all the Whedonfags dropped dead

I thought it was more like r9k robot sounds

Yeah the main story peaked and concluded in season 4, and I felt 5 was just there to clean everything up, if that makes sense.

>stop liking what i dont like

lel

Truly great tv, lost on the btards friend, try Sup Forums instead

No, it was great scifi because they competently overlaid the high technology conceptual universe with a western, last-frontier motif.

The Russian Earth President is pretty hot. Plus, the whole it with Cartagia is awesome, too. Didn't like Garabaldi going back to the bottle. Though Lis is hot af.

>btards don't watch red dwarf

nigga wat

Oh I've always heard it with like "*autistic screeching*" attached (if it's explained at all; it's usually totally context-free)

agreed

>also it had hot girls and sometimes they I plied they made out and stuff, b-but it would still be the best show without all that stuff
If you took Summer Glau out, it never would have made it past the first seas - OH WAIT

my nigga

fuck me! i just finished watching an sg1 and came here . saw this thread. synchronicity! awesome show

...

I keep thinking someone in Japan is going to do an all Japanese anime Firefly cast. Maybe it hasn't caught on there yet.

>The only good SciFi is SciFi without hot girls in it.

Okay, faggot.

imgur.com/a/pKq2k

Do you think that's maybe because it was a fantastic role and she was practically born to play River Tam?

Look up how they aired the first few episodes. It was a total travesty. That's why it failed. It almost immediately got a huge fan community after it went off the air, so much so that a show *that was cancelled in the middle of the first season* got a fucking *movie*.

Stargate is good until it becomes Fargate. Though "200" is amusing.

Yeah but Earth Alliance greatly benefited from the technological infusion that came from joining the alliance. I vaguely remember reading about how Earth scientists had figured out most of the science, it was the application that proved to be difficult. Then came the Warlock destroyers and there was no turning back.

It's my fucking entertainment - you don't see me telling you what porn is acceptable to fap to. Go fuck a horse...

No, it's because she was that special mix of quirky hot and most of the fanbase were either spotty teens or bicurious attention whores

kek "Fargate" fucking brilliant user! i'd never heard that. fucking hilarious . yeah, i like it but it did become a different show. original cast is THE cast

>>>/faggot/

I think I love you.

The Expanse

Its so good you should hold off on killing yourself

it's
you fucking failure

REMEMBER THE CANT!

Dude I was DEEP into B5. It probably hindered my psychosexual development. I'm sure you've seen Claudia Christian's Playboy nudes right?

the proto-molecule nigga

This is my fav. Andrea Thompson had some nude scenes in a couple movies too. Great body under that Psicorp uniform.

B5 is god tier from the pilot through season 4.
Season 5 was fucking terrible, and the movies weren't that great. I think JMS was losing his edge at that point or just burning out. The movie about the Vorlons constructing that huge, stupid, generic gothic looking thing to open a doorway into "turdspace." The cheezy movie with the non-human thief girl. The way they cheezed out on the character design of the Drakh after the initial appearance (the first appearance was fucking creepy as hell and had that cool displaced time/space effect, the Drakh after that episode looked like Generic Alien of the Week).
But the bulk of Babylon 5..or rather B5 _before_ TNT..was the most solid, well written, BEST CAST sci-fi series on television ever.
Crusade was...a turd.
I just wish the B5 cast would stop dying. Fuck, the TOS Trek cast went what, 35, 40 years before they began dying?

...

Say what you want about the movies, but "In the Beginning" was amazing. Loved seeing the Earth/Minbari war play out.

Don't you love her trimmed little bush?

Yeah season 4 was shot with the possibility in mind that the show wouldn't return for a 5th season. I had the same thought about the Drakh. I think they explained it away as the Drakh experimenting with Shadow tech they didn't really understand. And yes it's sad how the B5 cast seems to be dying. But keep in mind the show wrapped almost 20 years ago.

I still wish there had been twice as much of Morden in the show.
"My associates..."

The Expanse
Tenye wa chesh gut Beltalowda!

Lol Stargate is canadian

His death was so, so satisfying though.

In the Beginning along with A Call to Arms were fantastic. River of Souls tried a bit too hard and Thirdspace was cool, but very much a "day in the life"...a very bad day in the life...sort of thing. The Lost Tales could still be continued. I'd love to see a story about Londo, a character I've come to appreciate more as I've gotten older. Peter Jurasik said he's in if JMS ever writes anything.

Helix,
Caprica,
Extant,
Westworld,
Revolution,
Sanctuary (has a few actors from SG-1/Atlantis)

The Londo/G'Kar dynamic always fascinated me, even when I watched the show as a kid with my dad. Those two characters are so incredibly written and acted...

True, In The Beginning wasn't bad. Seeing Londo with more hair was, odd. I think they could've done his hair a bit better.
I actually wish JMS had just spent more time wrapping things up from the first 4 seasons. We all know what happened to Z'ha'dum after the Shadows left with the Vorlons and other remaining First Ones, but wtf happened to Vorlon space? There was never, ever any mention of it from that point on. And you know EVERYONE else in the galaxy would've wanted to grab it. And what happened to the Great Machine on Epsilon III?

It's good. I remember watching it on Showtime before Scifi picked it up. Was called Tales From a Parallel universe if I remember right.

Actually I thought SGU was really getting a lot of story momentum when they killed it. I agree that Stargate sg1 was done with it's plot, though I think SGA should've gotten a more studying ending.

I'm ignoring the ending episode of BSG, otherwise amazing.

Also Michal shanks from sg1 married Rommie from Andromeda.

This was so much better than SG-1, Liberalstar Galactica, Atlantis, Firefly, and Farcecrap.
