Ah, I love the Manics. This one's pretty fucking underrated, surprisingly enough. The older fans have a problem with the arena indie sound.
Lifeblood and EMG are also swell

Most of the older fans are punk wannabes who were too young to experience the original movement and thought the Manics wearing stupid clothes and makeup was the next best thing.
Don't get me wrong, I love their early stuff, but their glam punk shtick was boneheaded at best.
