I tried using a beard trimmer to shave my balls once, and it ended up pinching my skin between the little blades. It works fine on the face where the skin is thicker, but the skin on the ball sack is much thinner and looser, so you have to keep it pulled taught otherwise it can get pinched. Just my experience anyway.
