gas the bikes race car now

Very good thread.

I have been reading stuff here and it kind of surprises me. Yeah I know they have been shit past few years but this year is kind of different.

Last year they improved greatly YoY from 2015 to 2016.After summer break ALO finished P7 4 or 5 times plus a P5 in USA. Jenson Had a P8 or something and all this was with a handicapped Honda PU limited by token system.

This year there is no token system. Honda can bring a different version of PU for every single race if they need to improve on something .

Their car is improving. They were clear 4th fastest on a few tracks last year after summer break despite being 80-100bhp down. Hungary,Singapore,S2/S3 of Spa and maybe Germany comes to mind.

They have huge resources(Bahraini owners and so on) and with Honda pouring in $$$ too.

Good drivers.

Not saying that they gonna be in top 3 but writing them off so early by saying they gonna go backwards seems like jumping on to conclusions too early to me.

>I think senna was better than prost

You could make an argument for 1966, when the engines doubled in size from 1.5L to 3L. The Jim Clark-Lotus combination should have been the strongest on the grid, but Climax's (Lotus' engine supplier for some years) 3L engine failed to materialize, so they had to look elsewhere.

They went to BRM, who also had a relatively recent championship under their belt, but in an effort to place peak power over everything else, BRM made an engine that was overcomplicated, hard to drive, had the center of gravity too high, and was unreliable, effectively taking both teams out of the title hunt.

Ferrari might have been in with a shout, but John Surtees, far and away their best driver, quit the team after being pulled from the Le Mans entry at the last minute. Honda, meanwhile, was still struggling to build a good chassis. Cooper, another team that had Climax engines in the past, switched to Maserati for 1966, but Cooper was already on a downward trajectory by this point.

There were a couple new teams, Dan Gurney's All American Racers and Bruce McLaren's team, but they were still establishing themselves at this point.

Thus, the title ended up being won by Jack Brabham in a car of the same name, which used a modified Oldsmobile Jetfire V8 as its engine. While not taking full advantage of the regulations, the engine was good enough and very reliable. Denny Hulme would actually win the championship with this car in 1967, as Lotus got the new Cosworth DFV engine which made them devastatingly quick but would need some more time to find its reliability.

He was better at being a diva

Piquet Sr. > Alonso > Senna > Prost > Fangio > Lauda > Cheatmacher

Threadly reminder.

ascending in greatness frmo lef to right I assume?

>Piquet #1

>Piquet Sr.

>Piquet Sr. gets beaten by Mansell
>Lauda gets BTFO by Prost
>Alonso gets BTFO by Trulli and Hamilton
>Mansell too afraid to team up with Prost because he knows he'd get BTFO in equal circumstances
>Prost too afraid to team up with Senna again because he knows he'd get BTFO if Senna doesn't have around twice as many technical failures as he does
>youtube.com/watch?v=Uk2p2nRK-p4

>Prost not wanting to stay at McLaren because Honda was riding Senna's dick so hard that they're still riding his corpse more than 20 years later due to inertia

Trying to compare guys across era's is fucking retarded.

>early 50's

Rest of the 50's
Fangio

>Early to mid 60's

>Late 60's early 70's
Stewart

>Mid to late 70's
Lauda

>Early 80's
Piquet

>The rest of the 80's early 90's
Prost

>Mid 90's up until mid 2000's

Schumacher

This

so who is it from mid-2000's to mid-2010's?

I agree but after 88 f1 was just car baby era

>i'll just pick the most dominant driver from each era of F1, making this ranking completely useless

good job

>Implying there's no reason why they were that dominant.

>I'm just gonna bitch about it and not explain how I would improve it

Hard to say because of how much carbaby plays a factor. As much as I hate Lew Lew it's probably him or Alonso.

Of the last 30 years I would say:

Senna > Alonso > Hamilton > Amx > Prost > Schumacher

>there are seriously people in /f1/ right now who believe carbabbyism is a new phenomenon

maybe look up those seasons in the 80's where McLaren won 15 out of 16 races, fucking newfags

...

Senna > Schumacher > Fangio

learntolivewithit.jpg

Winning a championship with Senna or Prost as a teammate immediately negates carbabby criticisms.

Button.

any conclusion is too early leafy but when you end 2016 like they did and start 2017 like they did its not looking good because every step forward they make other teams will do the same or more.
always two steps behind.

I really hope they do well, I want every team to do well but its not looking very positive is it?

jesus how can you not spot reddit copypasta?

I don't reddit and I only occasionally go /f1/

are you sure you want to be proud of the fact that you instantly recognize copypasta?

>I only occasionally go /f1/

are you sure you want to be proud of the fact that you are a fucking casual?

To be fair it's not the most recognizable copypasta. I remember a few months ago there was some plebbit user that wrote a novel when Henno got shut down. It's quality pasta, does anyone have it?

another great season for mclaren honda

Amx

you can spot it a mile off without going to Reddit
>long post
>not replying to anyone
>reddit spacing and punctuation
>no trace of memes or humour, very few naughty words
>retarded opinion

he wont survive it this year

How man races before he triggers the exit clause?

Take back your words

Alonso knows that due to an entire decade of failure he's going to be remembered as the Mansell of this era, while Hamilton and Vettel will be remembered as the Prost and Senna.

Alonso also knows that the only way he can escape this timeline, and be a """""legend""""", is to do a Senna and kill himself, so people will claim he was much better than he actually was.

Don't be surprised if you see him taking dangerous risks, and getting involved in huge crashes this year, it's all part of his plan.

I'M THE TRASH MAN

>while Hamilton and Vettel will be remembered as the Prost and Senna

Calm down toothpaste, I don't consider Verstappen to be a part of that generation.

>we all know that's what you're triggered about
>toothpastes so one dimensional

If being only mildly interested in /F1's shitposting and fanboy faggotry makes me a casual then I'm pretty content with that user.

Don't try to make /F1/ any more interesting then it is, because it aint and you know it.

>complains about "fanboy faggotry" in /f1/
>is Dutch

The ironing is hurting my sides

i can recognize copypasta from a decade ago no problem but after a few years of the same old endless shit you kinda get tired of it all and stop paying attention.

Are you sure you want to be proud of the fact the you are a /f1/ regular?

>implying anyone cares what subhuman favela scum thinks

Why do Williams have a fucking Leaf who has wall magnets?

They have Di Resta as 3rd driver ffs

i don't care what my fellow dutchfags do user and i don't feel the need to be part of them or anyone else. I'm just here for the news bits, vids and shoops.

t. proud regular of a aboriginal rock painting forum

If Ferrari can stop being fucking mongos and give Vettel a car close to mercs it would only take one great season fight between them and they'll likely both go down as the greatest of all time.

Both of them are way up there in wins, titles and shit people just have the fallback of carbabby and muh unexciting championships despite hamilton being involved in two of the greatest final race deciders of the last 30 years

also not driving into the wall.

The recent Dutch-Brazilian trolling co-operation makes me sick.

crossing all my fingers that Ferrari have actually lucked into having a good car and not fucking it up by adding shit that doesn't work throughout the season. Based Byrne will save us.

the recent anglo-axis autism co-operation makes me sick.

I hope the same but it becomes clear that the drivers are holding the team back and someone else wins the WDC and WCC

*passive-aggressive observation about how his autism in being triggered*

Why would you hope for that? It seems a bit...masochistic.
Are you by any chance Marco, Luca or Stefano?

you've been fooled by his clever disguise

Bi-Annual reminder that Force India have only ever finished on the podium five times, four 3rds by Sergio Perez and a 2nd by Giancarlo Fisichella, the only points scoring finish he had in two seasons as a driver there.

This is the fourth best team in F1

I'm sorry mate, my bad for replying to that user in the first place.

but you know how it works, 1 starts to shitpost and then other fags join in.
stop that by adding something interesting. oh wait, there is none.

That'll buff right out, mate.

When the toothpastes activated.

Will the new F1 cars actually be able to fit through the tight Baku section?
