As an Australian I do not relate to the culture of getting drunk, beating people up watching sport and calling people poofters.
I mean mexicans have lowriders and tattoos which I find cool.
Japanese people have weird cars and fashion...
African American people have a culture of fighting for civil rights and making music.
Where do I belong? What do the things I do mean to me as an Australian?
Everything I like it just borrowed from other cultures and has no meaning to my history and identity.

Sometimes you do relate to the culture of your country, just not the current culture. I relate to many aspects of Brazilian culture, but not contemporary Brazilian culture.
For example Rio had many interesting moments over the last couple hundred years. But it's been shit for 50 years or so. Now it's all drug dealer music and monkey soup. When it was about samba, poetry, beautiful women and Catholicism it was GOAT.
