Insomnium may not be a 2010's band but they released a bunch of solid work in this decade

DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I wish Sup Forums would stop talking about metal as a whole because this is painfully embarrassing

the thread is open, if you have a suggestion please post it. I would love to hear 2010's albums better than Portal of I or Bilateral.
pic related is awesome album.
speedboozer
deafheaven honestly
>muh underground hipster black metal
Obvious picks aside, more people need to dig Henbane by Cultes Des Ghoules
Only decent post ITT so far, ignore everything else
Aquilus could be one of my choices if the guy released another album, but with only 1 album it's hard to give him the cookie. Agalloch, Summoning, Primordial and a lot of other hipster black metal came in the 2000's not 2010's.
ITT
>Pantera
>nu-metal
consider necking yourself
@74527543 (You)
wow, I'm a nu-male metalfag
pls give me chad metal to purify my soul.
Good stuff, but most of it is not from this decade, bad chart
...
t. nu-male
Deathspell Omega, still.
t. DMU
>muh osdm that all sounds the same
>muh ebil first wave bm
Based nu-male fedora virgin.
t. his taste taste comes from pitchfork and noisey
>anime
opinion discarded
That all hinges on if their new album is going to be any good, looking at trends it should be excellent, but the singles are weak.
Yawn, Dream Theater 2.0. The mountain and Aquarius are good, but their new album and subsequent EP were dire.
100% agree
>Demilich sounds the same as early ATG, Atheist, Morpheus Descends, Deicide or Incantation
>the only first wave BM on this chart is Sepultura
End yourself
>t. his taste taste comes from pitchfork and noisey
No, it comes from charts on Sup Forums. Including the one that's an ebin maymay.
embarrassing
Anime website.
Not really. This is an anonymous imageboard, and a lot of good albums get posted here.
I don't really know what you want out of life with a mentality like yours.
Not him, but if you base your entire taste on charts your overall taste is probably beyond saving
t. LARPing alt right neckbeard
My entire taste? No, but again, hundreds of charts get posted on this board, with thousands of albums to check out. What exactly is wrong with that?
>not liking shitty metal makes me alt-right
>what is wrong with that
Albums displayed on charts is mostly entry-level stuff. This means that if you don't dig deeper than charts, your taste is probably generic and void of any personality.
>muh obscure underground black metal
t. hipster
>I ONLY listen to top-rated sruff!
t. clueless basic bitch
>anyone who seeks out music that's not surface level is pretentious
god neo-Sup Forums really is shit
there's not a single first wave bm album on this chart
Before deafheaven: 1st wave
this
Yes, there is
Look at these contrarian special snowflakes lmao
>this shitty obscure black metal album from Bulgaria is better than this universally acclaimed and influential album
Lmao get a life faggots
you serious?
that's death metal
More proof /metal/ is the most cancerous general on Sup Forums, it's funny how they pretend they are too good for Sup Forums when they pretend to be alpha by circlejerking awful glam and power metal
Also the generals are like 95% shitposting and memes and 5% actual music discussion
>Sup Forums is so retarded they think glamposters are genuine
Can't make this shit up.
>Albums displayed on charts is mostly entry-level stuff
Some of them, yes. Others, no. Some charts are personal, and they're made with the intention of showing records a person enjoys without a mind for what's "entry-level". I'm not even sure what that term's relative to, because what's considered entry-level on here probably isn't considered entry-level everywhere else. There are charts of debuts from bands that just started last years.
>3 shitposters forcing a meme represent the majority of metal listeners
Jesus christ you're everything despicable about this board in one person, I hope you'll grow up eventually for your own good.
It is as much a black metal album as Sarcofago's INRI
You're beyond saving if you genuinely think that.
Tell me your top 10 records of all time, any genre. Just for curiosity
My vote goes to these guys.
I have seen like 5 interesting discussions on /metal/ in the past months, the place is a total contrarian shithole
It doesn't seem that bad only because other generals like /bleep/ are even worse, /metal/ has been completely hopeless since early 2016
Why? Because I genuinely like music for what it is and not for obscure hipster points? Go fuck yourself.
still better than circlejerking whatever trendy indie pop or hip hop the online tastemakers are shilling this week
>people can't genuinely enjoy something that's obscure
Yeah calling each others nu-males for liking popular music is much more interesting
Deafheaven and Alcest aren't actually that popular my dude.
The Mayan Factor - 44
Anathema - Judgement
Subrosa - More Constant than the Gods
Primordial - To the Nameless Dead
Gospel - The Moon is a Dead World
Kayo Dot - Choirs of the Eye
Theory in Practice - The Armageddon Theories
Rishloo - Living as Ghosts with Buildings as Teeth
Grand Mexican Warlock - Aeons
Martriden - Cold and the Silence
it's mostly just banter, does it really make you that upset?
also it keeps the newfags from circlejerking the same boring shit like
NeO is boring? It's pretty cool music. It's popular, yes, but still very nice to listen to.
>Primordial - To the Nameless Dead
I really enjoy this album.
Just know that it's entry-level Irish folk metal and therefore not good ;)
>entry-level
pls, give me non-entry level metal to listen to.
Ask the guy I'm replying to
Congratulations you two are the only people in this thread that have contributed an actually decent answer for good metal albums from the 2010's, allow me to add on
youtube.com
Out of all the garbage you've posted in this thread this album is by far the least repulsive and that's 100% due to the fact that the band can make some nice acoustic guitar/violin passages when they stop trying to create awful Opeth-inspired prog death, you have some awful taste when it comes to metal.
>you have some awful taste when it comes to metal
Sorry man, my taste is very mainstream. I also like Black Metal, just don't know a lot of really underground stuff. This song you posted sounds really nice,
