As far as I know there is no game that has ever come close to comparing to that gem.

I wouldn't it's as good as underground, but I had countless hours of fun with this back in the day.

No, at least not with the "fast & furious"/tuning theme. EA screwed it up...

Forza and it's spinnoffs are good.
Grid 2 is also good from what I read in different reviews

The only good street racing games with lots of customization today is Forza Horizon 3.

Yeah EA fucked it up. The last one I played was Most Wanted (the old one) and that was still pretty good
